Prologue

"What do you want?" He didn't look up from that God-forsaken coat. Four years since that genocidal mess died and he's still trying to get over it. He simply stroked the fur sewn to the coat, letting his deep black curls fall into his eyes.
"Hopefully I don't have to remind you that you two ruined my life. And his, at that." Nobody speaks. All that is heard is the crackle of the fireplace, and the slight purring of the Pyroar that survived the explosion.
"Someone had to stop him," I spoke up, finally. "You tried, too. He was going to destroy the world. It was good that it cost him his life." He growled at me, a sign he was not in the mood for any of my crap. He's been acting more and more hostile towards people, as if he's turning into his ex-boyfriend.
"Look, Professor. Calem and I are turning fifteen soon. And our little sister is going to be a Pokémon trainer as of two weeks from now. You better not act this way to her, got it? If you're going to be a jerk, be a jerk to someone other than her." I walk out of the lab, slamming the door behind me. The rain patters on the streets, calming me from that little ordeal. I swear to Arceus, he can be so distant sometimes...
