Cas smiled at Dean, whose leg was jittering up and down.

"I don't understand why we couldn't have just driven," Dean said.

"Because the beach is so far away! I wasn't going to spend the first day of my married life in the car," Cas said, looping his arm through Dean's and resting his chin on Dean's shoulder.

"But you're perfectly content to spend it on a plane?" Dean asked.

"It'll be okay, Dean, flying isn't that bad. And I'm here with you, I won't let you fall," Cas tried to reassure Dean. Dean took a deep shuddering breath and started humming. Cas grinned.

"Metallica!" He exclaimed. Dean let out a nervous chuckle.

"You got it, Cas," he said. Cas nodded. Their game had started the first time Dean had criticized Cas' music choice.

"I really need to educate you, Novak," he'd said. From then on, whenever Dean had hummed or sung anything, Cas guessed what it was, or at least who it was by. At first he was horrible, but after so many years, he was able to identify almost anything.

Cas kissed Dean on the cheek.

"How can I make it better for you?" He asked.

"I don't have a clue, okay, Cas? All I know is that I'm in a tin can that should not be able to fly," Dean said. Cas blinked at the harshness in Dean's tone.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you do this. I just thought it might be good, you know? There might still be time to ditch...." Cas said. He was starting to feel horrible. Why would he make Dean do this?

"No way. You didn't want to drive, we don't have to. I'll be fine," Dean said. As they started down the runway, Cas glanced at how tightly Dean was gripping the arm rests. Dean's breathing became heavier, and Cas glanced at the elderly woman next to them before turning Dean's head toward him and kissing him. Dean seemed to relax, and when Cas pulled away, Dean smiled at him.

"Better?" Cas asked.

"Yeah, but I don't think you can keep that up the whole flight," Dean replied. Cas smiled.

"Then I'll just have to think of other ways to distract you," he said.

Cas hugged Dean as they got off the plane.

"I'm sorry I made you fly, Dean, that was a real jerk move," he said. Dean kissed Cas on the top of the head.

"It's okay. But let's drive back, okay?" He replied. Cas nodded.

When they got to the condo they had rented, Cas was practically bouncing up and down with excitement. He'd never been to the beach before.

"Calm down, Cas, geez," Dean said, smiling. Cas dashed into the room as soon as Dean got the door open and went straight for the balcony.

"Dean, look, it's the ocean!" Cas shouted excitedly. Now he actually was bouncing up and down. Dean dumped their bags in the hallway and walked up behind Cas.

"It's really pretty," Cas said. Dean nodded, wrapping his arms around Cas from the back.

"But not as pretty as you," Dean said. Cas couldn't help but smile.

Cas sighed contently as he rolled over onto his stomach with his hands under the pillow, perfectly content.

"I love you," he mumbled.

"I love you too," Dean replied. Cas felt Dean's hand stroking over the exposed scars on his back.

"She said that she was making sure I wouldn't have wings when I went to heaven. She said that they wouldn't grow..." Cas said softly after a second, enjoying the warmth of Dean's fingers on his skin.

"That's... horrible," Dean said, placing a tender kiss on one of Cas' scars. Cas shifted his head so he was looking at Dean.

"But don't you remember? You gave me wings," Cas said, touching the chain he still wore around his neck. Dean smiled and leaned in to place another kiss on Cas' lips.
