Cas woke up Sunday morning to a scream.
"Cas!" He heard Dean scream. Cas jumped out of the bed and ran into the bathroom. What he saw was Dean, pressed up against the wall, staring with wide eyes at... Cas couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"A spider? Dean, you scared me to death," Cas wheezed.
"I'm scared to death! Cas, kill it!" Dean exclaimed. When Cas had disposed of the spider, he came back to the bathroom to peel Dean off the wall.
"You're supposed to be the man in this relationship, you know. Are you a man or a soccer mom?" Cas teased.
"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," Dean grumbled.
"I will, thank you," Cas said, grinning. Dean shoved Cas and headed to the kitchen. Cas followed and Dean started making waffles.
"So what are we going to do today?" Cas asked. Dean smiled.
"Actually, I have some plans," he said. Cas raised his eyebrows, jumping up and sitting on the counter.
"Really? What kind of plans?" He asked.
"Surprise plans," Dean answered. Cas grinned. Cas didn't say anything else, so Dean started humming what Cas quickly identified as Burning For You.
"Taste," Dean said after a few minutes, holding up a spoon with waffle batter on it. Cas leaned forward and tasted it.
"I don't know why you still make me do this, it's always great," Cas said.
"Because you're cute when you taste test," Dean said. "Then again, you're always cute." Cas rolled his eyes.
After they had eaten their waffles, Dean stood up, a mischievous smile on his face.
"Alright, get dressed and meet me by the Impala," he said. Cas did what Dean said, and when he walked up next to the Impala, he saw Dean standing there with his hands behind his back.
"What's going on, Dean?" Cas asked.
"Well I was thinking about how bummed you were on Friday when Angel said I treated her like a princess, and don't bother denying it, I can read you like book. Anyway, I thought you deserved a day for you, so..." Dean finished by presenting Cas with a plastic tiara. Cas smiled and felt tears fill his eyes as Dean placed the tiara on Cas' head.
"Your steed awaits, my princess," Dean said, opening Cas' door. Cas got in and Dean walked around and got in the driver's seat.
"Are you going to tell me where we're going now?" Cas asked.
"I said surprise and I meant surprise," Dean said. Cas watched Dean as they drove. Dean was obviously proud of himself for whatever was in store, and his proud smile made Cas smile too. Eventually they pulled into the parking lot of a large park.
"A park?" Cas asked.
"Yeah. You haven't been outside for an extended period of time in way too long," Dean said. Cas grinned and got out of the car. When Dean got out, Cas grabbed his hand.
"I love you, Dean," he said. Dean grinned.
"The day isn't even over yet," he said.

"I am a twenty-three year old man, I don't wear flower crowns," Dean grumbled.
"Well then why haven't you taken it off yet?" Cas asked. Dean paused.
"Shut up," he said. Cas grinned.
"Wait here, I've got one more thing before we move on," Dean said. Cas nodded and eventually Dean came back with a plastic bag and set it on a nearby picnic table. Cas went over and sat down as Dean pulled out two sandwiches. Cas gasped.
"Peanut butter and jelly?" He asked excitedly. Dean nodded. Cas grabbed one and took an enthusiastic bite. Dean smiled and took one for himself.
"You're amazing," Cas said after he'd swallowed. Dean leaned over, his mouth still mostly full.
"Gimme a kiss," he said around the food.
"I'm not kissing you when your mouth is full, Dean, that's disgusting," Cas said. Dean pecked Cas on the cheek anyway.
"Dean!" Cas exclaimed.
"You know you love me," Dean said when he'd swallowed. Cas just shook his head, smiling slightly.
After they'd finished lunch, they got back in the car.
"Are we going home now?" Cas asked.
"Not even close," Dean said.

The next stop was the river.
"The beach was a bit far away, this was the best I could do," Dean said. Cas grinned.
"It's perfect," he said. Dean smiled.
Cas was very much enjoying his day. He and Dean talked a lot about this and that.
"We've here a while, so its time for a boredom check. Are you bored?" Dean asked after a while. Cas thought for a moment, then reached out and pushed Dean into the river.
"Not anymore!" He exclaimed, laughing. Dean grinned evilly as he climbed out and headed for Cas.
"Oh no, I know that look, you are not getting near me!" Cas said, running away. Dean ran after him. Cas gave Dean a run for his money, but Dean eventually caught him and carried him towards the river.
"No! Mercy!" Cas shouted, laughing.
"You started this!" Dean exclaimed. And with that, he tossed Cas into the river. When Cas got out, they were both laughing.
"You suck," Cas said.
"I suck? You pushed me in first!" Dean exclaimed. Cas stuck out his tongue.
"I think we should move on now," Cas said, smiling. Dean nodded.
"Agreed."

After that they actually did go home, where they watched Finding Dory for the third time that month.
"Today was amazing, Dean," Cas said when the movie was over.
"Did I say the day was over?" Dean asked, standing up.
"More?" Cas asked incredulously. Dean nodded and took Cas' hand.
Cas had never been up on the roof before. He'd thought about it, but he'd just never had the time.
"It's pretty up here," Cas said.
"I remembered you saying that you missed looking at the stars. I don't know if we'll be able to see any stars, but we can at least pretend," Dean said. Cas grinned and they laid down on the roof, staring up at the sky. There were only a few stars, but as Cas lay there, holding Dean's hand and watching the sky, he didn't care. Because he would gladly never see the stars again if he could spend the rest of his life with Dean.
