Nine

"Dean, why couldn't we have been together when you were this good a cook?" Angel asked, patting her stomach.

"Because I was waiting till I had someone who needed it. And if anyone needs cooking skills, its Cas," Dean said.

"Okay, that's five cooking jokes since you got home from work. I think I get the message," Cas said.

"I've had your chicken pot pie, Cas, you need all the messages you can get," Charlie said. Everyone laughed.

"Okay, okay, I guess so. Why do you think I married Dean?" Cas joked.

"Because it would piss Naomi off!" Gabe exclaimed.

"Uh, no. I'd rather never piss Naomi off again. We all remember what happened last time," Cas said.

"I'm confused. Who's Naomi, and what happened last time?" Angel asked.

"Naomi is our sister," Cas said.

"And a few weeks after Cas and Dean got together, she tried to kill Dean. Like actually stabbed him," Gabe finished. Angel's eyes widened.

"Oh my god, really?" She asked. Dean nodded and rubbed Cas' arm.

"Yeah. Now that I think of it, that was pretty big thing to happen only a few weeks into the relationship. If had been anyone but Cas I probably would've taken myself out of the line of fire," Dean said.

"I'm glad you didn't," Cas said.

"Me too." Dean leaned over and gave Cas a quick kiss.

"Awwwww," everyone said in unison.

After everyone had left that night, Dean and Cas were cleaning up.

"Cas..." Dean started.

"Yeah Dean?" Cas asked.

"No one thinks it's your fault," Dean told him.

"What do you mean?" Cas asked quietly.

"Naomi coming after me. It isn't your fault, Cas," Dean said, taking Cas' hand. Cas didn't meet Dean's eyes.

"But I could've... I should've just..." Dean raised Cas' head.

"Cas, there was no way you could've seen that coming. You need to forget it," Dean said gently.

"I don't know if I can," Cas told him, a single tear falling down his cheek. Dean kissed him softly.

"Well any time you feel worthless, tell me, because I will be more than happy to show you why you're wrong," Dean said before wrapping Cas in a hug. Cas' shoulders shook as he began to cry, so Dean did the best thing he could think of.

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.

Take a sad song and make it better.

"Hey Jude. Beatles," Cas said with a sniffle. Dean smiled and just continued singing, taking Cas back to the bedroom and holding Cas as he sang him to sleep.
