It's not how he actually died, nor did he ever do anything like this.

It's symbolism. 

It's symbolizing how Chase died to his own Magic - his own father - without a say. He couldn't protest, he couldn't cry out, he was muted. The real Chase was overthrown, unable to cry out. He was murdered broken. He was broken. 

He was stripped away from himself. 

And he died without returning to become the silly, the confident, the determined Chase everyone knew. He couldn't say goodbye to anyone. 

He was gone before he was even dead. 

And he was hurting even before then. 

Chase, you were such an amazing character. We loved you, I love you. You shall remain forever tucked into my heart. We love you, don't you see? 

You're who you are. 

You were. 

I'm sorry I made you go down the path of that fate.
