CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN, fullers in a fog
(violet's outfit for this chapter)
Since the Homecoming Dance, Violet noticed Rocki and Dean were hanging out more which she found interesting. It wasn't her place to question, so she didn't. She did wonder though what was going on with her two friends.
It was a couple days after the dance and Violet and Jackson were in his and Max's room, working on homework together. But Violet was about to have enough of math. If she didn't take a break, she'd snap her pencil.
"Babe, can you take this math break with me? I need a breather." Violet huffed, stretching her arms over her head.
"I think we both need one." Jackson sighs, closing his math book and turning his chair around to face her. "What should we do?"
Violet perks up when she thought of an idea, blushing while butterflies swarmed in her stomach. "Well, we could do this.." She reached her hand up to grab the back of his neck to pull him in for a kiss, startling him. But, he immediately kissed her back, his hands coming to her waist.
"Not complaining, but what brought this on?" Jackson mumbled against her lips, smiling.
"Just wanted to." Violet admitted with a shy smile. He grinned, blush dusting his face.
"Well, then, let's keep going." Jackson suggested, pressing his lips back to hers. She giggled at how eager he was, kissing him back with the same amount of energy and enthusiasm. His hands slid up her waist and cupped her face as he deepened the kiss. Their eyes closed, the two melting into each other.
They both forgot the world around them. All that mattered was each other. Until they were startled by a familiar voice.
"Oh, sorry! Didn't realize you two were, uh, busy." Ramona's nervous voice is heard, but they keep their lips connected, ignoring her. Ramona chuckles. "I just really need some advice..." She pauses as they kept kissing and she went to sit down. "Okay, I'll just wait until you're done."
Jackson groans and tries to pull Violet back when she pulled away, pouting a little. "Jax, I can't just ignore Ramona."
"You could've for another minute." Jackson mumbled, earning a light chuckle from her and a kiss on his nose.
"What am I gonna do? I really need some love life advice." Ramona worriedly said.
"Get a cat." Jackson muttered, managing to pull Violet back in for another kiss.
Violet giggles, pulling away again. "Come on, Jax. Ramona needs help."
"I need help." Jackson frowns. "My lips are lonely."
"Sorry. We'll pick up later. I promise." Violet promises, turning to get up and head over to Ramona. "What's the problem, Mona?"
Ramona admitted she was having trouble with her popstar boyfriend who lived five thousand miles away. He wasn't texting her as often and took longer to text and she didn't know what to do. So Violet suggested she take charge and tell him to either step up or step off. Ramona perked up and then suddenly grabbed her arm, dragging Violet out of the room since she wanted Violet to type those exact words in her phone.
"Wait, no, help me!" Jackson calls out as he stands by the doors. "I need love life advice!" He tried to get Violet back, frowning when it didn't work.
But Ramona peeks out from her room, smirking at him. "Get a cat." She used his words from before and closed her door. Jackson frowned and rolled his eyes as he went back to his room.

"My life is over!" Ramona announced, frowning as she walked into the living room. Violet was surprised to see everyone there. DJ, Stephanie, Kimmy, Danny, Joey, Jesse, Becky, and Steve were all there. A bad fog had came into the city so maybe they all got stuck here.
"What now?" Stephanie asked worriedly. There were too many things going wrong already. She was worried about Kimmy not being pregnant, Becky and Danny lost their job after trying to get a raise and asking for too much money, Joey was going to be left behind with his four nightmare kids since his wife was going to be doing magic on a cruise for six months. And her weird dream was coming true. She saw a weird dance party outside earlier with Fernando and Jesse, the fog, and then the masked man - when Jesse had came down stairs wearing a face mask. It was all coming true and she was worried it meant Kimmy wasn't pregnant.
"Marius says we should be non-exclusive and free to see other people just because we live five thousand miles apart." Ramona revealed with a frown as Stephanie rubbed her arm to comfort her.
Violet sends her a sympathetic smile. "Sorry, Mona. That sucks. But you'll be fine. You don't need a boyfriend."
"Says the one who has a boyfriend." Ramona pouts. "Doesn't helped I walked in on you making out with Jackson in his room earlier either." Violet and Jackson's eyes widen, their faces flushing as Ramona revealed that secret to everyone. Everyone was surprised, but DJ was clearly the most shocked.
"You did what? Where?" DJ questioned, staring at the couple with disbelief.
"We make out all the time." Violet shrugged, looking down shyly and blushing as she realized what she said. Jackson quickly covered her mouth so she wouldn't blurt out anything else, his face just as red. DJ stared at them with disbelief. Yes, she knows they're a couple, but they've hadn't been a couple that long. She didn't think they'd be so intimate with each other.
Violet glances down at her phone when it buzzed, her heart sinking at the notification. "Oh no, what happened with you?" Stephanie frowned, looking at Violet worriedly as Jackson pulled his hand away.
"So I was gonna try this open mic night. I had this really cool song and I was ready to preform. But now suddenly it's canceled. The places sound system got messed up and they closed early because of the fog. Maybe it's a sign that I'm not meant to be a singer." Violet frowns. "It seems like everything is falling apart."
"That's sucks," Jackson said, still a bit flustered from the earlier conversation but trying to comfort her. "But don't think like that, babe. You're meant to be a singer." He murmured to her, wrapping his arm around her waist to pull her close to his side. She sighed, leaning into his warm embrace and wrapping an arm around his waist.
"No! This is the worst news ever!" Fernando cries out when he walked in with Kimmy, who looked at him with concern. "They're discontinuing the best diet root beer in the world. Mr. Rooty Zero."
"Fernando, please. We are dealing with some actual bad news here." DJ told him.
Fernando stares at her with disbelief. "Did you not hear me? Mr. Rooty Zero is no more. You could not tell it was diet."
"There's one more not so-great thing to report." Steve admits, walking over to DJ with an apologetic look. "Okay, now, this is gonna sound crazy, but I got a text message from a patient-Magic Johnson." He brags. He sighs. "Anyway, the foot specialist for the LA Lakers retired and, well, they offered ne the job."
DJ frowns. "So we finally get back together and now you're moving to another city?" Steve shrugs, smiling apologetically. DJ sighs, shaking her head. "What else can go wrong?"
Violet gasps along with everyone else when Tommy and Pamela walk in, both having gum stuck in their hair. "Oh, no." She mumbled. She heard the two toddlers haven't been getting along, but she didn't think their feud was so bad.
"Pamela put gum in Tommy's hair." Becky notices, kneeling by her daughter with a frown as DJ and Fernando knelt by her and the toddlers. "Tommy gum in Pamela's hair."
"It appears they have found my secret stash of Hubba Bubba I hide in the nursery." Fernando sheepishly admitted.
"My dream is totally coming true. Bad things are happening to everyone." Stephanie told DJ in a worried tone. Violet sighed and leaned into Jackson, who wrapped an arm around her and rested his chin on top of her head.
"Well, nothing bad has happened to me." Max spoke up with a smile.
"Uh, not so fast, Max." Kimmy speaks up after looking at her phone when it buzzed. "CJ just sent me an email. Rose won't be coming to the party tomorrow."
"No!" Max called out dramatically, walking over to a nearby chair.
"I hope this isn't because CJ blames me for ruining her wedding." DJ worriedly said.
"No," Kimmy assures her, waving a dismissive hand. She looks down at her phone when she saw more. "Oh, wait. There's more. Rose can't come because CJ blames you for ruining her wedding." DJ frowned and Stephanie patted her shoulder to comfort her.
"We're star-crossed lovers, torn apart by our warring families." Max complains, walking over to a nearby chair. "Ours is forbidden love, just like Bert and Ernie." He flopped on the couch, pouting.
"Well, this day is officially a total disaster." DJ announces. "Even I can't put a cherry on top of this...Turd cake!" Everyone gasps, staring at her with disbelief and shock. She never cursed. And even just saying 'turd cake' was a big deal for her. "That's right I said 'turd cake' because that's how bad today is." She sighs. "All the kids just go to bed."
"Guess I'm staying the night since the fog is still pretty bad." Violet sighs. "At least I'll have my handsome boyfriend to keep me company." She smiled at Jackson, who smiled back at her and kissed her cheek while they walked up the stairs.
"I'll always keep my beautiful girlfriend company." Jackson smiled at her, causing her to blush and smile.
"We can have a sleepover." Ramona offers Violet. "Since the fog is so bad."
"Yeah, sure. That'd be great. Thank you, Mona." Violet thanked her.
"I'll go get some snacks." Ramona smiles at her. "I'll be right back." Violet nodded and continued walking to Ramona's room as Jackson followed her, their hands intertwined. Max walked ahead of them to his and Jackson's room, but the couple paused in the hallway.
"Seriously," Jackson stops, causing her to stop and face him. "Don't give up on singing just because of the open mic place and stuff. You're amazing. You can find other ways to sing and show your talent. Maybe do something at the party tomorrow or something. I'm sure Uncle Jesse would let you." He assured her, reaching a hand up to gently caress her cheek.
She smiles fondly at him, leaning into his touch. He always knew what to say to make her feel better. He was right. There were plenty of other ways to show her talents. She didn't need the open mic. She could easily show her singing at the party. It'd be fun. And she could sing at other open mic nights other nights when the fog cleared. She was thankful for Jackson for making her see that. She had just got in her head when things were going wrong. She sighed in relief, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders.
"Thanks, baby," She said softly. "I really needed to hear that."
Jackson grins and leans in to kiss her forehead. "Anytime. You've got this. Plus, I'll be your biggest fan no matter where or when you sing."
Violet smiles fondly, her heart warming at his words. "You're the best." She whispered, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. They stood there for a moment, just holding each other.
Suddenly, Ramona's voice echoed from the hallway as she walked up the stairs. "You two better not be making out again!" She teased.
The couple pulls away, their faces flushed. Violet playfully pushes him towards his room, smiling as she hears him laughing. Ramona smirked at the couple, wiggling her eyebrows as she sat the snacks down. Violet rolled her eyes, smiling.
"Don't look at me like that." She muttered, blushing as she joined Ramona on her bed. Ramona only smiled mischievously, causing Violet to shove her shoulder as she laughed.
Despite everything, she was grateful. Things may have been going wrong for a while, but she was thankful things were working out. She was lucky to have Jackson and their friends and family. And she was lucky for everything she has. She just hoped the next day would go well and the fog would clear.
