It had been just about two weeks since Alex and I started at Liberty High and things had been going alright, I guess. Tyler was still my only friend, but that didn't brother me. In fact, Tyler and I had only grown closer with every day that passed.

I was currently waiting by the front door for Alex to finish getting ready and I couldn't wait to give him a sh*t for it. He's always complaining that I take ages, but it looks like the tables have turned today.

"Well, well, well," I began when Alex finally walked down the stairs, folding my arms, "Look who's made us late this time."

"Don't wanna hear it, Rosie." Alex sighed, grabbing his backpack.

"I don't wanna be marked tardy because of you, Alex." I mocked what he always said to me in a squeaky voice.

"I don't talk like that." He protested.

"I don't talk like that." I said in the same voice, giggling evilly when he glared at me.

"You're the most annoying twin sister in the world, do you know that?" He stated, trying to hide his own amusement.

"Yeah, but you love me anyway." I gave him a cheesy grin.

"Sometimes." He muttered as he opened the front door.

"Hey!" I shouted as I followed him out to the car.

"Do you wanna drive or shall I?" Alex asked, unlocking the car.

"You can, meanie." I glared at him, pouting and he just rolled his eyes, opening the drivers door while I got in next to him. It wasn't long before we arrived at school and Alex went one way to his first class, but since I had a free period first thing, I made my way to the dark room. I walked in to find Tyler already in there. He had his back to me and he was so busy hanging up photos that he didn't notice me enter, so I took it as an opportunity to scare him, because what sort of best friend would I be if I didn't? I slowly walked up behind him and leaned up so my lips were right next to his ear.

"Hi Tyler!"

My plan was deemed successful when Tyler jumped out of his skin and spun round to face me.

"Jesus Christ, Rose, you scared the sh*t out of me!" He panted, clutching his heart.

"Sorry." I giggled.

"Are you really sorry, though?"

"Not really, no."

"You're evil." He claimed with a glare, only receiving more giggles in response.

I walked out of the cafeteria with Alex after the bell rang for the end of lunch.

"See you after last period?" I questioned, even though we'd been going through the same routine everyday for the last fortnight and I knew what the answer would be by now.

"Yeah, hey, do you fancy going to get some coffee after school instead of going straight home?" Alex wondered.

"Uh, that sounds great, except you know I hate coffee." I reminded my twin brother as we stopped walking and leaned against a wall of lockers while talking.

"Okay, then you can get a hot chocolate or something. There's this cafe not far from here, Monet's, I think is the name and apparently it's supposed to be really good so I was thinking we could go there, do some homework?" He explained.

"I mean, you know I can't say no to hot chocolate." I smirked and Alex smirked right back.

"So that's a yes?"

"Yep."

"Awesome, see you after last period."

"See ya." I waved my brother off before he ran to his next class. I began making my own way to class, when all of a sudden I heart a metal thud. It sounded like somebody being slammed into some lockers. I followed the noise and rolled my eyes when I found that asshole Montgomery pinning Tyler against some lockers.

"What did you say to me, loser?!" He growled in Tyler's face.

"I-I just asked you to move so I could get to my locker." Tyler stuttered as Montgomery shoved up further up against the lockers.

"Leave him alone, Montgomery." I sighed, walking over to the pair.

"Aw, would you look at that? Ty Ty's little girlfriend is here to save the day."

"Grow the f*ck up." I replied.

"You don't intimidate me, Standall." He growled.

"I'm not trying to intimidate you, you prick. I just want you to leave my friend alone." I said calmly.

"Why are you even friends with this freak? Why not join me and the jocks, then you'll be hanging around with people on your level of hotness." He smirked, looking me up and down and making me feel very uncomfortable.

"First of all, you're disgusting," I began, distaste obvious on my face, "And second, Tyler is my friend because he's a decent guy and he's not an arrogant dick who feels the need to pick on other people just to feel better about himself, unlike you."

"You're a bitch, you know that, Standall?" Montgomery snarled, finally letting Tyler go. I just rolled my eyes as he stormed off.

"Thanks, you didn't have to do that." Tyler smiled at me, brushing himself off before his smile faltered, "I just hope he and the jocks don't start targeting you now, too."

I scoffed, "If you think I'm gonna let a bunch of idiots who's egos are bigger than their dicks get to me, then you better think again, Ty Ty." I then realised Montgomery had given him the exact same nickname only moments ago and frowned guiltily, "Sorry..."

Tyler smiled again, this time wider, "It's okay, I don't mind it when you call me that." I smiled back before looking away, feeling my cheeks heat up just from the way he was smiling at me.

The bell signalling the end of last period finally rang and I shoved my belongings into my bag before exiting the classroom. I got a text from Alex asking where I was and I was so caught up in texting him back that I didn't notice the guy in the Liberty High varsity jacket walking towards me until we bumped into each other.

"Oh, sorry." I said, shoving my phone into my pocket as I looked up at him, meeting his baby blue eyes.

"It's okay, just maybe look where you're going next time, yeah?" He chuckled.

"I probably should." I giggled, "Anyway, I should go. I'm meeting my brother."

"Who's your brother?"

"Alex Standall."

"Oh, yeah, I think I have a few classes with him. See you around, then." He smirked at me.

"Yeah, see you around." I smiled before walking away.

"Why were you talking to Justin Foley?" Tyler suddenly appeared next to me.

"Jesus, Tyler, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" I squeaked, placing my hand over my heart.

"That's payback for this morning," He laughed, before his smile fell a little, "No, but, seriously, why were you talking to Justin?" There was a hint of something on his face, an emotion I was only really used to seeing on Alex when we were younger. The look would usually appear whenever our parents seemed to be paying more attention to me than him. It was... Jealousy.

No, no, that's ridiculous. Why would Tyler be jealous of me talking to some guy for not even two minutes? I'm obviously just misreading his facial expression.

"I bumped into him, that's all." I shrugged.

"Alright, well, just be careful, okay? Let's just say he's not the most gentlemanly at Liberty." Tyler claimed.

"Tyler, chill, he spoke to me for barely a minute, it's not like he asked for my hand in marriage." I laughed, a hint of confusion in my voice. Why did he care so much?

"I know, I just... I-I don't know, I'm being weird, ignore me." He stammered.

"Okay..." I chuckled, even more confused than before, "Anyways, I need to go find Alex. See you tomorrow, Ty." I grinned up at the curly haired boy.

"See you tomorrow." He smiled back at me before I walked away, trying to ignore the small flutters in my stomach. When I didn't find Alex at his locker, I figured he had already left so I walked out of school and sure enough, spotted my brother leaning against our car.

"Ready for some coffee?"

"Hot chocolate." I corrected him.

"Whatever, we going or what?" He playfully rolled his eyes.

"Yup." I said, popping the 'p' as I opened the passenger door and got in. Alex then got in next to me and started the engine before we were off. Monet's ended up being literally two minutes away so there was really no point in taking the car but oh well. We went in and found somewhere to sit so we could set our backpacks down before we went up to order. Alex said something about wanting to try everything on the menu, to which I replied with a snort and an amused, "Good luck with that." We soon got my hot chocolate and Alex's coffee before going to sit down. We talked about random nothings and other twin stuff and even did a little homework before I decided I needed the bathroom.

"I'll be right back, do not touch my hot chocolate." I warned and Alex just laughed as I walked off. I found the bathroom and did what I needed to do before leaving, only to find two girls now sat opposite Alex, talking to him. One was pale with brown curly hair and the other had dark skin and also had brown curly hair, but her's was curlier. They were both ridiculously pretty.

"Well, I can't objectively answer the weird thing, but I'm not alone. I'm here with my sister. We just moved here a couple weeks ago." I heard Alex explain as I walked over.

"Hey." I spoke up, taking my seat beside my brother.

"Ah, you must be the sister." The pale one observed and I nodded awkwardly, "I'm Hannah."

"And I'm Jessica."

"Uh, I'm Alex, Alex Standall." He have an awkward little wave.

"Rosie Standall." I gave a smile that was just as awkward.

"Okay, Rosie and Alex Alex Standall," Hannah began, making me giggle, "We are prepared to invite you over to our table if you can answer one question; what is depicted on the giant painting they just hung on that wall?" She pointed to a big painting on the wall.

"Um, a giant bleeding man?" I blurted the first thing that popped into my head.

"Or squid?" Alex suggested.

"Or man-squid?" We said in perfect unison.

"In spring." I added.

Hannah and Jessica exchanged a look and nodded before they turned back to us and Hannah smirked, "You're in."

"As long as you don't talk at the exact same time again, that was creepy." Jessica stated and I chuckled.

"Awesome." I grinned.

"Yeah, but, um, what are we in, exactly?" Alex raised an eyebrow.

"If you have to ask, you don't know." Jessica said mysteriously. It was the start of a wonderful four-way friendship, but would it stay that way?
