So now what...
(Y/n)'s Prov)
I nervously followed him. Each step I took became nerve-racking. Trying to not just drop the produce and run, became more and more tempting. "Ok we're here," he smiled unlocking the door. "Great," I said pretending to be ok. When in reality I became sick to my stomach. I followed him to the kitchen where he motioned to set the stuff down on the counter. "Thanks for your help. I'm still really sorry about all of this," he said concerned as he began to put stuff away. "No no no it's ok. I'm glad I could help. Thou I should probably get going," I said quickly taking a few steps back. "Oh I thought you'd stay for dinner? Come on it's the least I can do," he said sadly. "I uh have a (cat/dog/pet) and they need to be fed right about now so," I said nervously as I turned towards the door. "It won't take that long. I promise," he assured. "I guess, but...," I trailed off.
"(Y/n) why are you so scared," he asked. I jolted. "Um well I... I never had dinner with a boy before," I lied and I saw his face light up as he chuckled. All the tension I've been feeling just melted away. It's not like I had a crush on him now... I just.... I don't even know. Something about his laugh reminds me of the first time I heard Phil's laugh.
"Ah so your just really shy. That adorable," he chuckled and I felt my cheeks flare up. "It'll be fine, plus it's not a date so you don't have to be nervous. Also my flat mate Phil will love to meet you. He's always ready to meet a new friend," he explained happily. "What should I do? If I stay... then Phil will see me. Then I would most likely be kicked out or get the police called on me. All the outcomes are not great. Plus he just saw me today so I can't change my appearance now," I let my mind wonder as I watched Dan began cooking. Even though EVERY fiber was telling me to go... "I'll stay," I said and he smiled at me. "Great! You can sit in the couch and relax till I'm done, or you can sit at the bar and we could talk. You pick," he said getting out the cutting board.
I debated my options. The bar would be easier to get up and run out, but the couch is closer to the door. I decided to sit on the couch and once I heard Dan opening the oven, I tiptoed out of the flat shutting the door quietly behind me. "I'm sorry Dan, but I can't let Phil see me," I thought before letting out a sigh. I turned to the hallway when I locked eyes with the person down the hall... it was Phil.
We both froze. I'm pretty sure his what out of shock and mine was out of fear. The flat door opened. "(Y/n)? Why are you out here?" Dan asked confused before he saw Phil down the hall. "Hey Phil come over and meet (Y/n). She's joining us for dinner," Dan said happily and he walked back inside. Phil and I just stared at each other before I said, "I was just leaving."
"Why are you here," asked Phil cautiously. "Dan bumped into me and I helped him carry the things he spilled. I had no idea he was your roomate till I was already here. I have no intention in pursuing you. I planned on disappearing completely from your life. I'm sorry," I said gently. I gave him my last smile before I turned to walk away.
I could feel him watch me leave. I got to his neighbors door when he said, "just go inside. Dan's waiting." I stopped, standing there in disbelief. I didn't even bother turning back to see him. I heard his footsteps walk to his flat door and open it. "Come on," He said as he walked in. I looked back to see the door open. "What game is he playing with me," I whispered. "I guess I didn't know what to do. I could easily run away and never see him again, or I could have this last night with him. Is that selfish...? Am I being unreasonable?" I thought as I weighed my options. Soon my feet moved towards the door, and I didn't realize the mistake I've made till I was face to face with Phil in his own home; with the door closed behind me...
