twenty-six: kissing you goodbye

The next day, Harry finds himself standing in the airport, holding on tightly to Niall as if he never wanted to let him go. It had been a rough morning, for both of the boys but for Harry a little bit more. Niall is rubbing at Harry's back, sniffing a little as he pulls away. 

"You're gonna end up missing your flight, Dollface." Niall whispers, wiping at Harry's eyes as the younger boy continues to sniffle. Niall always hated it when Harry cried, the action always making him cry as well. If Niall had his way, all Harry would ever feel would be happiness... but with Niall's job, it was a given that not every moment would be happy. 

"I'm not ready to go." Harry sniffles out, once again burying his face into the crook of Niall's neck. Harry takes in as deep of a breath as he could, more tears coming at the fact this was gonna be the last time in god knows how long he'd get to be this close to Niall. He didn't want to let go, but he knew he was going to have to. 

"Babe, I don't think your boss will appreciate you not showing up to work." Niall says, earning a sad chuckle from Harry. 

"I'm quitting anyways, I don't think it matters if I show up." Harry says, trying to bring a lighter tone to the conversation but he was honestly too upset to really actually stay happy. 

"I hate this as much as you do, H... but you really gotta get on that plane. Your mum is probably dying to see you and Zayn is going to want to hear all about your adventure in New York... They don't know that Jedi is a boy, that's something you'll want to tell them in person." Niall continues to talk quietly, brushing Harry's hair behind his ear before kissing the younger boy on the forehead. 

"I just... The house is so empty without you, Ni. I don't... I don't want to go back to an empty house." Harry says honestly, his words tugging at Niall's heart a little. Niall knew that Harry hated being alone, which was part of the reason Niall was so happy they were having Jedi. 

"I know, baby... I know... but hey, I'm gonna be coming home for a little while at the end of August, staying until my birthday before I have to come back to the states until the end of October." Niall says, kissing Harry's cheek as the younger boy just continues to sniffle quietly. 

"Jedi will be here then." Harry whispers, running a hand over his bump. Jedi hadn't been as wiggly today as he had been yesterday, Harry was blaming it on his mood though. He was sure Jedi could tell he was upset, maybe causing the baby to stay still. 

"Exactly, which is why you need to go back home. You gotta find us a new house to live in and you can't do that all the way over here." Niall says, trying to give Harry reasons to leave but he could tell that all Harry wanted to do was stay... Niall wanted him to stay too. 

"You should come with me. It's your house too." 

"How about you get a list together of all the houses you wanna look at and maybe I can talk to Myles about coming home for a weekend to go look?" Niall offers, earning a nod from Harry who seems to finally stop crying. Niall runs his thumbs over Harry's cheeks to wipe away the last of Harry's tears before he leans in and kisses both of Harry's cheeks. He was gonna miss doing that, he was gonna miss everything about Harry... 

"Think you can manage the next little while without me?" Harry asks and Niall smiles softly before shaking his head. 

"I'm gonna try my hardest, but I'm gonna miss you and Jedi like crazy. You're gonna keep updating me with your vlogs, right?" Niall asks, earning a nod from Harry. 

"One video every week." Harry whispers and he looks like he's about to cry again but Niall wasn't going to let him do that. 

"I love you, H." Niall says one last time, leaning in and kissing Harry softly. Harry blinks back tears when Niall pulls away, holding onto Niall's hand tightly because he wasn't ready for this. He wasn't ready to go two months without seeing Niall, without being held by Niall, without Niall. 

"I love you, Ni." Harry whispers back, trying not to cry as he feels Jedi moving around again. Niall leans down and kisses Harry's baby bump, squeezing Harry's hand before gently pushing Harry in the direction of security. Harry stands still for a moment, holding onto his carry on as he bites down on his bottom lip. 

"I'll call you when I land..." Harry says, still trying to stall but he really didn't have time to do that anymore. His flight was going to be taking off without him at this rate, not that Niall would mind... He wished more than anything that Harry would stay, but Harry had a job in London. 

"I'll be looking forward to it." Niall says, waving sadly as Harry finally starts to move towards security check. Harry is walking backwards, nearly knocking into people but he didn't care because he didn't want to lose sight of Niall. Eventually he has to turn around though and that's when Niall finally leaves, long gone when Harry finally gets the chance to look back.

SO SAD

it took me three hours to write this chapter cause my internet is a piece of shit that keeps going down, which is just bullshit cause we got a new router so it wouldn't do this but NOOOOO, internet isn't allowed to work in MY room. It can work all over the house, but heaven forbid it work in CONNIE'S ROOM. 

sorry, i'm done. 

no I'm not. I'M GOING TO FIGHT SOMEONE BECAUSE IT LITERALLY CUTS OFF THE SECOND I WALK INTO MY BEDROOM. GOD.
