/Lawton\
"Alright, we don't know how many people are in there with them, so be ready for anything." Taylor said, fingers tracing his pistol's handle. There were nods from my team.
"On three," Roxanne said quietly, "one, two," Taylor kicked in the door, drawing his weapon.
"FREEZE!" Taylor yelled, presumably at whomever was inside.
"God dammit Taylor." I muttered, walking into the small apartment where the duo had been held up.
"Hello girls! Would you be so kind as to turn around so I can cuff you?" Tiller asked, holding up two pairs of handcuffs.
"We'd sooner die than be caught!" Elizabeth spat. I sighed, gently pulling out my gun, aiming at her head.
"That can be arranged." I said simply. The twin's eyes grew in fear as she moved her hands behind her back so Tiller could cuff her.
"And what about you Fortuna? Are you coming quietly or going out with a bang?" Whiteman questioned, tugging at the sleeves of his shirt. Fortuna hissed like a cornered cat, but allowed Tiller to tighten the cuffs on her wrists. Sam and Roxanne walked the twins out to the squad car. It was one of the few cars in london that still worked. Taylor sent me a rouge glance as I walked to the other side of the room.
"What are you doing? I doubt they would've left anything tying them to the ring just lying around. They're too careful." Taylor stated. I nodded slowly, but reached the desk. A candle sat on it, burning despite the ample sunlight in the room. There was torn up paper on the desk and ashes by the candle. Clearly they'd been burning something. Taking out a bag from my pocket I sweeped the pieces into the container. If we can piece the letter together it may tell us who they work for.
The contents of the drawers were typical at best, holding nothing of interest. I looked up, noticing that Taylor had left me, along with the rest of them. Sighing, I ran my hand through my hair, trying to summon up an idea-any idea-that could lead to the discovery of more evidence, but couldn't think of anything. A thin stream of breath and the candle was out, and within a few strides i too was out of the single room. At the door, I paused, sending one last glance around the room before shutting the door and jogging outside.
It was going to be a long walk back to the station.
A/N:
Hey, Hi, Hello!
As I'm editing, I've noticed that I haven't used a lot of the other characters. Would you guys like me to use a different POV than Lawton, Frost, and Gilbertson? Leave a comment or a vote, they're always appreciated. Thanks!!
