Chapter Twenty-Two

It had been three days since everything had gone down, and I honestly had never felt more at home. Mey-Rin and I had come up with a system that got the manor cleaned and beyond presentable in almost half the time. However, today was different. Usually, Mey-Rin would go out and get the flowers from Finny in the garden, while I speed cleaned the kitchen since Bard was out of there by now, but today Mey-Rin asked me to go out there. I didn't question her, but I did think that it was odd.

I made my way out to the garden, but Finny wasn't out back like he usually was. I started to wander the fields a bit, seeing if he was tending anything out there, but there was still no sign of him. After about ten more minutes, I started to worry. Not only was Finny no where to be seen, but I've left Mey-Rin now for far too long. Frustrated, I decided to go down to the rose garden to pick the flowers myself. I still felt like I was on thin ice with the Young Master, and I couldn't be wasting anyone's time right now.

However, once I got to the garden, I had finally found Finny. Not only was he here, but Bard was also out here with him.

"Wh-what are you two doing?" I questioned.

"Well..." Finny started to say, but his words seemed to be lost with his fading confidence.

Bard harshly patted his back. "We were actually waiting for you. It took you long enough to get out here."

"What do you mean?" I asked. "I was at the usual spot. I was waiting for you."

Finny instantly blushed. "Yes, I was just getting the flowers ready now."

I saw that Finny did already have a few bouquets arranged, but he still seeming to be making more. This was way more than we usually had to take in. It made me wonder if the Young Master was hosting something soon, and if that was the case, I really didn't have time to waste.

"Why are there so many? Are we hosting something?" I asked them.

Bard chuckled, and Finny's face flushed red.

"Well, no-no, not exactly," Finny stuttered, not looking at me.

We all stood there in an awkward silence, until Bard gave Finny a little shove. "Go on, ask her."

I then looked back to Finny, who's turquoise eyes were fixed to the ground rather than me.

"Finny...was there something you needed to tell me?" I slowly asked.

Suddenly, Finny stuck out the bouquet he was holding right in front of me.

"I picked these for you! I just thought they were so pretty, and you're so pretty- I just wanted you to have them!" Finny quickly said, almost making his words sound like another language.

"Th-they're for me?" I questioned, hesitantly accepting them.

Finny nodded nervously. With a smile, I took the bouquet, and just as I was about to thank him, Bard gave him another quick shove.

"What else?" Bard said.

"Oh- yes... (Y/N), would you like to join me in the rose garden for super tonight?" Finny asked.

I felt my cheeks heat up a little as I looked into his eyes. An undeniable smile formed on my face, and I nodded my head, accepting his offer.
