Chapter Three

I entered the carriage with the two. I couldn't help but feel unsure about what was going on. I shouldn't trust these two. I have no reason to. After all, I was stealing from them and now they are offering me a place to stay. There was no way that the earl of the Phantomhive was one to be so charitable. And that butler...there was something off setting about him, but I couldn't say what it was. He definitely wasn't normal, but why? Who was he?

I had a lot of questions, but I stayed silent the entire carriage ride to the manor. I didn't find it my place to say anything. I didn't want to upset the Young Lord, nor did I want to upset his mysterious butler.

We arrived in the front of the manor. It was breath taking up close. Never in my life could I imagine that I would actually be entering it. Why would I ever think that I would? I am a common peasant, who lives off stolen flowers.

"Don't look so unsure. My Lord may go back on his word if he thinks that you can't handle being here...we wouldn't want that would we?" the butler spoke quietly behind me.

I nodded hesitantly, but I still felt nervous. If I were to run, I could probably make it out now, but the problem was that I didn't have a real reason to run. They haven't threatened me, but why? Why was I here?

"I swear Sebastian, if she breaks of steals anything, the consequence is left on you," Ceil threatened.

"I understand, my Lord," the butler smirked with a small bow.

"(Y/N), if you will stay here...the others will be down soon to take you to your quarters," Sebastian explained.

I nodded, staying quiet. I took a seat on one of the lavish sofa's that was in the Fourier and patiently waited.
