Chapter Eighteen

*Your P.O.V.*

At this point, I had worked my way up to being tied to a chair, rather than chained to the ground. Although, I couldn't imagine that either of them truly thought that this would keep me down, especially after remembering my true identity.

"So, you are the product of a demon and an angel?" Ciel questioned.

"Yes, my father was a demon, much like Sebastian, and my mother was an angel. Both were executed for their unholy creation, but they chose not to punish me. As it is taught, a child is not born evil, but evil is learned in time. The angels took it upon their grace to raise me as their own," I explained. "That's how I know Angela...she was like another mother to me, but the issue is that I am not an angel. I do not see a need to purify everyone. I can purify someone, but there is no real need to do that. Anyways, after Angela failed to purify you, m-my Young Master," I stammered, still trying to show my loyalty, "they decided to brainwash me, so I could be close enough to purify you. That's why I don't remember anything about my past. I am not just some commoner."

"Now a demonic angel hybrid. You would be quite handy to have around but tell me why I should believe a word that you have to say?" the Young Master questioned.

I cleared my throat, looking up to the both of them as I answered. "Young Master, you have given me a place to stay, fed me, and clothed me all for the price of protection and cleaning. You offer a place where I am looked at as a friend by others rather than the black sheep of a group. I have never had such a feeling...I would like to keep serving under you," I spoke, bowing my head as I finished.

Ciel let out an ironic laugh. "What? Am I supposed to just trust that you won't try to fulfill your original orders?"

"I- Young Master, I cannot express to you enough on how at home I have felt here...but, looking past that, you have a full fledged demon butler with over a hundred years over him...I may be a hybrid, but I am only a teenager. It is clear who would win that fight," I argued.

"You think that that should be enough?" Ciel intensely questioned.

I wanted to crack under his pressure, but I knew that he was just testing me. He was putting me down because he wanted to know how much I would be willing to take if I was working with a second mind.

"I am only here to serve you...my Young Master," I simply responded.

Ciel motioned for Sebastian, who leaned down to his level. For a few moments, Ciel whispered into Sebastian's ear while Sebastian nodded in response. Finally, when they were done, both of their eyes landed on me.

"You may go," Ciel stated.

"Wha- but what about—"

"I will let you know when I have made my final decision, as of right now, you are free to go," Ciel repeated.

I didn't speak another word as I showed myself out.
