(15th) Abridged
"Calci?" Phill asked as he knocked on a hefty door.
"Come on in Phil" she offered.
Phil entered the room, dimly light by a couple of tabletop lamps, a pair of upside-down terracotta planters acting as tables.
Between them Calci sat on a comfy looking single seater. She was weaving a chrysanthemum stem into a star.
"Hi" she greeted whilst failing to look to her guest.
"Hello" he replied.
That conversation went no further.
Calci tossed the complete project into a nearby pile of matching stars before reaching for another stem at her feet.
Phill continued to look on tentatively, but soon began to speak..
"I came to make my, contribution" he claimed.
Calci abruptly stopped.
She looked up at Phill as if puzzled.
"You already did, yesterday"
"No I didn't?" he claimed with wonder "did I?"
"Yes, yesterday morning, we spoke about my past in this town, my duke late husband and Phyllis's ancestor" Calci said.
"I remember that, but surely that was the day before" he recalled.
"Nope" Calci affirmed as she resumed her craft.
Phill looked a little defeated as he sighed and nodded.
Calci scooted over and patted a small space beside her.
Phill accepted her invite and moved forward to, though he halted as he got up close.
He squinted a little, he was examining her.
"Fuller hair, fuller face, fuller body, and some colour" he observed.
Calci flicked her hair outwards in boast
"Glad you noticed, let's just say, a few gifts came my way" she said before she looked to her breast smiled "and you have no idea how happy I scale back the stuffing"
"Did you eat Phyllis?" Phil abruptly asked.
The door of Rosies opened in a violent swing.
Despondent, Channel looked up from her screen only when the visitor had reached the checkout.
An irate Phyllis slammed her palms on the counter then looked towards the hallway door.
"She here?"
"She's back there" Channel said as she pulled out in-ear headphones "why?!" she asked sternly.
"I need to speak with her" Phyllis claimed as she moved behind the checkout, past an un-phased Channel and towards the door, which she tried in vain to open.
"Open this door!" Phyllis ordered.
"I'm messaging her, I'll see if even she wants to see you" Channel offered with attitude.
"No, I need.."
The door opened, startling Phyllis and cutting her off.
"Phyllis" Phill greeted as he revealed himself, signing in relief as his features cheered up.
Phyllis gave Channel a quick glare before she pulled the arm straps of her backpack further up and charged past the man she had ignored.
"You met your guru?" Calci asked as she opened the door to Phyllis, instantly returning to her latest chrysanthemum star.
"Not yet, but I was up until about 9 this morning doing research on our chats" Phyllis claimed as she removed the backpack and delved in, extracting a bundle of text filled sheets of paper.
"Researching what exactly" Calci asked in a not too curious manner.
"I found some archive pages on the deep web and whistle blower who I know is legit" she started as she pressed a number of sheets to Calci, who failed to take them.
"I can't find any trace of you or any of your names, I can't find any information on your metamorphism and no examples of local pagan transcendence practice rituals" she rushed whilst she shuck the documents in her hand to draw attention to them
"but vampires can be sired from what I have found" she finished as she awaited Calci's reply.
Calci only shook her head as she worked.
"I poured my heart out to you, I shared everything, yet you chose to study ignorant narratives of the clueless"
"I'm not ignorant" Phyllis snapped.
"Right before you is a talking directory of lost knowledge" Phill interrupted as he entered the room "no website nor book in my store will offer you such insite into the worlds truths"
"She's not interested" Calci claimed.
Phyllis looked disgruntle, but said nothing as she looked towards the woman before her.
"You do know it's OK to be fearful?" Phill asked the standing woman.
Phyllis shot a look towards him.
"Phill assured me you were a clever and worldly woman who would do a fine job keeping me informed regarding todays world" Calci admitted "believe it or not, I'm the vulnerable one here, it's me who needs all the help she can get"
Some time had passed.
Calci continued working on the stars.
Phil sat at a small metal table in the corner of the room, gently pushing split seeds into a growing tray.
Phyllis had been looking over her notes before warily looking between the two, she soon spoke...
"Why?..." she slowly started "Why would, you, replace Phil?" she asked as she looked over towards him "Seeing as you to get along so well".
Calci looked to Phil, who looked back at her, as if the two of them had just shared a telekinetic conversation.
Calci turned back to Phyllis and answered...
"Phil, looks fine, but he's not doing too well, on the, inside"
"Hardened arteries" he stated from his corner, gaining both ladies focus "can you believe that? Years of keeping a healthy and active body and mind"
"I have ethics, I feel Phil should enjoy the time he has left with little responsibility" Calci said.
"Well I disagree, however, Calci isn't looking too well as of recently, she's almost a window to her donor's health" he claimed with slight hesitance.
Calci looked over to Phil...
"Thanks a bunch"
