"Hello!" I call out when I hear the front door open, lowering the volume of the tv as I lean my head back on the couch to see Five walk in after locking the door.

He walks over to me with a smile, shedding his coat and leaning down to kiss my nose. "Hello, my love. You got some mail."

"Oh! What for?" I quickly sit up as my boyfriend hands me some mail, walking off to hang up his coat and quickly freshen up. I get up while opening the mail to chuck the envelope in the bin, stopping short when I see a couple tears on the bottom of his coat. "Five, why is your coat ruined?"

"There's some pesky cat outside the building that wouldn't let me go!" he yells out from the bedroom.

"A kitten!?" I gasp, chucking the mail on the table to wear a coat and grabbing a towel plus keys before rushing out of the building. I follow the sound of quiet wailing and I find the smallest little black kitten all wet and cold by the mailboxes. "Oh, you poor thing!" I carefully pick it up with the towel, cradling it to my body as I rush back home and locking the door behind me.

I sneezed heavily from being out in the cold, carefully setting the kitten down on the floor on a pillow. It mewled and whined, shivering violently and I quickly search up how to help the little kitten. I dry it up gently as best as I could, grabbing an empty shoe box and filling it up with a blanket before heating up a hot water bottle. I set it down in the box, placing more blankets on top and setting the kitten down on the blankets to keep it warm. It slowly stoped crying, snuggling into the blankets and I coo at it at how small and cute it was!

"Sweetheart, what was in the mail?" I turn around to see Five walk out while drying his hair with a towel after he changed into his pjs but raises a brow at me since I was kneeling on the floor. The kitten meows out and he narrows his eyes at me as I give him a sheepish smile. "You did not just bring in that filthy rat in here!"

"Hey! It's a baby and it was freezing outside!" I exclaim.

"That flea-infested rat shouldn't be in here!" my boyfriend sighs out, opening my mail for me. "We're not even allowed to have animals in our apartment!"

"Five, please. The poor thing was crying and shivering. I couldn't leave it outside." I say, looking at him who shakes his head while glaring at the tiny fluffball in the shoebox.

"Fine. We're taking it straight to the pound once it's ok. But that little shit better stay away from me." The cat yowls loudly in response like it didn't like my sweet assassin either and I chuckle at that. "Fuck you too, you little shit." I laugh at Five's response to the kitten, him grumbling under his breath as he read my mail.

"So what is it?" I ask, petting the kitten.

"You got invited to a work party event? Some major masquarde ball I think."

"Oh right, my boss told us that we would be getting formal invites for this today. It's a special tradition apparently." I shrug as my boyfriend hands me the mail. "Held every year to show off our skills of being able to hold the biggest party amongst other companies. This is fancy fancy." I look at the gold borders, seeing the address and the date of the event. "Do you want to come with me?" I ask him and he stiffens. "You don't have to... that's ok..." I shrug, slightly disappointed but I understood that parties weren't Five's thing.

He's not really a people person.

I guess I'm going by myself with people I hardly know.

"-let's go little one. Let's see if I can get something for you to eat." I carry the shoebox with me to the kitchen, the little kitten slowly opening its eyes to look at me and mewling softly. I gently rub its chin and it purrs softly, biting on my finger but it wasn't painful. "Ok ok, I'm getting you food you little rascal."

"Get off the fucking bed you little shit!" I grumble as I wake up from the sudden arguing, rubbing my eyes to see Five cursing at the tiny black kitten he tried to pry off the bed as it yowled and hissed at him.

"Five?" I muttered out in confusion, yawning as I sat up in bed and he and the kitten both freeze when they get caught. "What are you doing?" I stare at both of them and they glance at each oteh before looking at me.

"Go back to sleep sweetheart, I was just about to kick this pest out-" my boyfriend suddenly hissed in pain when the kitten scratched him. "You little fucker!" He accidentally drops the kitten but it lands on its feet, running towards me on the bed and hiding beneath the blanket on my lap.

I awe at its cuteness as it looked up at me with its wide green eyes, just blinking while hiding from Five. "It's just scared." I lean down towards the kitten, holding my hand out to let it sniff my hand before it lets me pet it.

"You're going to let it stay on the bed?" my sweet assassin grumbles out in annoyance and I look at him with a smile, seeing him rub his hand.

"Come here." he walks over to me with a soft pout and I hold his hand, kissing where the scratch was as he sat down by my legs. "It's just a baby. It must have just wanted to be pet and climbed up on the bed."

I rub my thumbs over the back of Five's hands and he glares at the kitten. "Still doesn't allow this disease-infested pest to stay on the bed." I chuckle at how much hatred this kitten and he had.

"I'll set it back in the shoebox if that makes you feel better." he nods, getting into bed next to me to go to sleep again as the kitten stared at me, making it hard for me to set it down in its bed again as it mewled for me.

"Oh shut up you little shit." The cat meowed cutely at me while it hissed at my boyfriend in response and I chuckled as the two started arguing.

"Stay." I pat the kitten on its bed as I put it down in the shoebox, moving to go back to sleep again when Five pulls me back against his chest. I sigh blissfully as his arms wrap around me, his head nestled against my neck. "Why do you hate cats so much?"

"I don't hate them entirely... I just prefer dogs more." my boyfriend yawns out against my shoulder and I blink in surprise.

"You're a dog a person?"

"Why is that surprising?"

"I don't know... I didn't think you would be interested in having any type of pet or companion." I turn around in Five's arms to face him as he looks at me softly before I bury my face against his chest.

"Well if I did have a pet, it would be a puppy."

"What would you call it?"

"Promise not to laugh." I lean back, a smile growing on my face.

"I can't promise that I won't love."

"Fine... Mr. Pennycrumb..." My eyes widen at the name and I giggle at how cute the name was.

"Five... that's adorable!" he grumbles in embarrassment, his cheeks and the tips of his ears turning pink. "What kind of breed?"

"...a pug..."

"I keep finding out new things about you." I chuckle lightly. "I didn't think you would be a pug kind of person. I think Pomeranians and Miniature Pinschers are cute."

"I'm not surprised you like the smaller animals. You fell for the kitten immediately."

"Can you blame me? It's adorable!" Five sighs out with a smile, pulling me in to lay his head on top of mine.

"Let's just go back to sleep sweetheart."

"I still can't believe you named that annoying thing after me." Five glared over his cup of coffee at the kitten that sat in my lap as he yowled back at him almost like it was agreeing with him.

Yes, the kitten was a male.

I had decided to keep the kitten, even though Five despised the little thing but I just found it amusing how the two argued with each other. After getting all the checkups and shots at the vet, I bought all the kitten supplies for him to grow up comfortably in our apartment. He was still very easily frightened when I come near him but he opened up to me gradually but still tried to scratch at Five or headbutt him whenever he felt like tormenting my boyfriend.

"You both are similar what can I say." I shrug and the kitten whips its head up at me like it was glaring at me with its bright green eyes, almost offended. "I swear to god, this would be you in feline form Five. You both have the same bright green eyes too." I chuckle as he scoffs lightly, reading the newspaper and the kitten jumps off my lap to go do whatever it wanted. "Don't worry, I like you better as a human." I whispered to my sweet assassin and he glances at me, a small smile on his face as I went on to finish my breakfast.

I've got two moody cats living with me now, my god.

"Are you going to the masquerade ball tonight?" Five asks and I nod, going to the kitchen to clean the dishes once I was done eating.

"Yeah. My workmates are picking me up and we're heading off there."

"What are you wearing?" he asks, setting the newspaper down on the table to finish his coffee and pay attention to me wholeheartedly which I loved.

"Oh! Let me show you!" I run off to grab my dress, eager to show my boyfriend as I grab it from my wardrobe. "I found it in the wardrobe so I'm guessing my other self bought it for a special occasion." I show Five the dress, excited about the double-thigh slit. Heat flushes my cheeks when I notice the dark look in my boyfriend's eyes as his finger brushes against his lips, looking over the dress hungrily before looking up at me with a smirk.

"That's a gorgeous dress sweetheart. Can't wait to see you in it."

"Stop playing with my jewellery Five." I chuckle lightly as I see the kitten sitting on my vanity while pawing at my necklace, meowing at me softly and I lean over to pet him after I put my earrings on. He cooed and purred under my touch before I quickly snatched my necklace from his paws, which he wasn't happy about that his toy was taken away. "I said no you little rascal." he whines and jumps down onto my lap, biting me softly and as I quickly put on my diamond choker on before picking up the kitten. He paws at my nose, stretching his little toe beans and I nuzzle his stomach. "You're too cute to be mad at." I smile as the kitten bats at my loose curls fallen from my styled-up hair, me standing up as my dress falls over my legs and I set the kitten down on the bed. I went to put on my heels, smoothing out the fabric of my black off-shoulder high split dress with the long sleeves covering my wrists.

I guess it's time to go...

I walk out of the bedroom with kitten Five prancing after me, grabbing my purse from the dining table. Five was still not back from his work and I had asked him to take care of the kitten when he gets back. I make sure the automatic feeders are filled for the kitten before I say goodbye to little Five and head out of my apartment to the car waiting for me. My coworkers greeted me when I got in, buckling up and sending a quick text to my boyfriend that I was heading to the party now. I made sure to securely stick on my lace masquerade mask on before the car stopped at the hall where the party was being held.

I got out of the car with everyone, the group walking up the stairs and splitting up to talk to people but I quickly head inside to avoid interaction. I was in awe of the grand marble foyer, a giant chandelier spreading a warm glow over the large staircase leading up to grand double doors. It was like I was in a castle, slowly walking up the stairs like some main character making her appearance to the whole kingdom's court.

Ok, that was kinda cringe...

I chuckle lightly, standing before the open double doors which orchestral music and chatter escaped from. I walked through, standing on a balcony and peering over the railings to see the large ballroom. There was a grand orchestra at the end playing a sweet melody, a buffet on the right side with different kinds of food and drinks with cocktail tables behind it next to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The dance floor was empty along with the outside balcony where the doors were open to let in the cool breeze.

I quickly head down the stairs to avoid people looking at me, going straight for the drinks to get some liquid courage. I grab a couple glasses, going over to the side on an empty table to just drink and enjoy the music. It was awkward for me to be here since I didn't know anyone but it was compulsory for the company to show up. I sigh in frustration, feeling so alone and miserable but I take a video of the place and the drinks to send to Five.

'Look what I found'
'Free drinks!'

'Your faves are here too
Whiskey and Rum'

'I'm just drinking the

cocktails and mixes here'

'Don't too much sweetheart,
I won't be there to look after you.'

I blush at his words, smiling into my glass as I finish a drink.

'You know I'll be fine love'
'We both have a high tolerance'

'I know, but I don't trust the men to keep
their eyes or hands away from you'

'I'll make sure to kick them with my heels'

'That's my girl.'

I burn red from the last message, shuddering from the words and I down another glass to cool myself down. "Damn that boy..."
