(y/n) - your name

Date: 14 of November 1963, 11 days till doomsday and I'm losing my mind.
"What do you want Diego?" I look up from the book I was reading to see Five being bothered by his brother.
"Your do-hickey machine you built yesterday is going crazy." Diego explains, pointing to Elliot who was signalling Five over.
"Which one?" The Boy asks while the alarm was going off like haywire, the both of them inspecting the screen.
"It's the, uh, atmospheric radar."
"Good."
"I don't get it. What are you tracking? A hurricane? A storm front?"
"Soundwaves." I pipe up from the couch, getting up and walking over to Five. "Found Vanya?"
"Found Vanya." He nods. He holds out a hand for me hesitantly like he thought I didn't want to be near him but I hold his hand and he looks down at it briefly, looking back up at me after. "Ready?"
"Yeah, sure." I shrug and close my eyes, seeing a blur of blue before we drop somewhere outside where the wind was blowing. I open my eyes again and as expected, we were out in the middle of nowhere with a cornfield in front of us. The sun was glaring down at us and I groan out from how hot it was, Five simply heading towards the cornfield and leaving me behind. "You've got to be fucking kidding me right now. Are we actually going in there?"
"Yes!"
"Can't you space-jump us to Vanya?" he looks at me, raising a brow.
"You don't think I would do that instead? I don't know her exact location so we just have to look for her on foot."
"Fine..." I sift through my travel backpack I had with me to take out a fan to try and cool me down. Yes, I started carrying a backpack with stuff I might need cause all this adventuring means I need to keep stuff on me. I followed behind The Boy as he broke through the field, holding onto his blazer so I don't get lost. It was just reeds and reeds of green stalks and corn smacking us in the face, making me annoyed as I slap them back and I sputter when I get hit in the face.
I hate this.
I don't know how long we were in the cornfield for but as soon as Five found Vanya, I dropped to the floor to rest. "Hi, Vanya." he says as parts the reeds, looking down at his sister who was hiding.
"I need sleep..." I turn my head to see Vanya look at Five but she didn't notice me yet since I was only the floor.
"Who are you?"
"I'm your brother."
"I have a brother?"
"Yep! A sister and 4 other siblings." I call out from the floor and Vanya looks at me with wide eyes.
"(y/n)!?" I sit up straight when she says my name, looking at the girl in shock.
"Holy shit! You remember me!?" I quickly get up, a huge grin on my face as Vanya nods happily.
"I could remember your name and your face besides my name."
"Vanya! I'm so glad to see you!" I glomp the woman in a tight hug and she stumbles back, laughing before hugging me back.
"As sweet as this reunion is, we have to get out of here. You can either stay here and wait for the IKEA mafia to come back to kill you, or you can come with me." Five states.
LOL IKEA MAFIA.
Whoever wrote the script is a fucking genius.
"Relax Five, she's coming with us." Vanya nods and he sighs in relief before walking off back through the cornfield with us girls following him.
"Wait, why are they trying to kill me?"
"Cause you're not supposed to be here, Vanya." Five replies back.
"Technically, none of us are supposed to be here. Not in 1963. You two and your family are from 2019. And I'm from 2020, the fucking shit hole of a year..." The Boy raises a brow at me as I hold onto Vanya's shirt tightly so I don't get lost amidst the corns and she follows her brother closely so she doesn't get lost. "I'll explain later." I tell him and he nods, all three of us finally breaking out into a clearing which actually turned out to be a crop circle.
"Holy shit." Vanya looks around and I whistled out low.
"Dang girl, you really need to get hold of your powers." There were thousands of corn stalks that were broken and had fallen over in a perfect circle from when Vanya burst out a soundwave pulse.
"Yeah, pretty wild, right?" Five grins with a mildly proud look on his face, turning back to Vanya and walking off again. "It's good to see your powers are still intact."
"Looks like an asteroid just hit." I peer into the shallow crater as I walked past it, turning around to see how big the crop circle was. "Cool!"
"We don't have time to admire, (y/n)." The boy grabs me by my shoulders and turns me around to keep walking and I frown.
"But crop circle!"
"No (y/n). Let's go."
"Fine..."
Two out of Seven Hargreeves siblings and I sat in a diner after we found Vanya's car and she drove us back to town. Five and I sat down in one booth together with his sister sitting in front of us, far in a corner to have our privacy. I thanked the waitress who poured me some tea and coffee for Five, leaving the pots on the table for us before walking away.
"You gonna tell me what the hell's going on?" Vanya whispers and I let her brother explain everything while I stirred the sugar in my tea.
"When you were a baby, you were bought by an eccentric billionaire. He raised you in an elite academy with six other siblings with extraordinary powers, but in the year 2019, in order to avoid the apocalypse, we jumped into a vortex and ended up being scattered throughout the timeline in Dallas, Texas."
"That's a fucking mouthful." I snicker, sipping my tea and seeing how confused Vanya was, Five chuckling softly and nodding in agreement while he drinks his coffee.
"Any questions?" The Boy asks and I peer up at him, admiring how his beautiful green eyes shone brighter from the sun but I shake my head from the thought. I look outside to just watch the cars zoom past when I jump from feeling my hair move. I turn around to see him brush my fringe back, his fingers lightly stroking my cheek before he moves away to push a plate towards me. "Eat." he whispers to me, nodding to the croissant.
"What do you mean, 'the apocalypse'?" Vanya asks.
"I mean the end of the world as we know it." Five answers
"And I'm here for the ride." I give the siblings a thumbs up and they look at me weirdly so I just go back to eating my croissant.
"Yeah, but how?" I open my mouth to answer Vanya but I get cut off when The Boy covers it with his hand.
I look at him with a raised brow but he focuses on his sister. "You really don't remember anything?"
"No, nothing before a month ago." I glare at Five as he kept his hand covering my mouth while Vanya looked at us strangely.
I ain't gonna lick his hands.
That's fucking disgusting.
1. I don't know where his hands have been and
2. I ain't nasty like that.
"Then what do you remember-what the actual fuck (y/n)!?" Five glares at me when I pinch his thigh tightly and he lets my mouth go, rubbing the wound I left on him.
"Vanya was hit by a car, that's why she can't remember." I glare at him back.
But it's also cause she chooses not to.
Vanya stares at me with wide eyes. "How did you know?"
"Girlie, I'm not from this universe. I'm from an alternate universe where I know what's going to happen and what's happened leading up to the apocalypse in this world."
"How-"
"-you don't remember before a month ago, right? So you only remember from the point you fell in an alleyway right?" Vanya confirms with a nod and I lean back in the booth.
"What causes the apocalypse?" she asks me with the hope that I would tell them but Five just glares at me, shaking his head no.
Before I could say anything, he cuts me off again. "Asteroid impact. The big kaboom ends everything."
"That's only half true-"
"-just like the ones that got the dinosaurs, except way worse." I glare at Five when he cuts me off yet again.
This asshole.
I huff out in annoyance, laying my head on my arms that rested on the table after I finished drinking my tea and eating my croissant. "Bad news is, it followed us here." I mumble out, annoyed when Five pats my head.
"What do you mean 'followed us'?" Vanya asks.
" 9 days from now, the world ends in a nuclear doomsday." I tilt my head up to see the violinist look at Five in disbelief but I could still see the worry on her face. "It's a different disease, but... same result."
"That can't be right."
"I saw it. We saw it." The boy looks at me and I nod. "With our own eyes. You were there. We all were." The Boy sighs out, fiddling around with the cup in his hands.
"Shit. I need to make a phone call." Vanya suddenly gets up and I hold Five back when he was about to follow her.
I shake my head and he sits back down. "Let her be. Let her be able to keep Sissy from freaking out."
"Sissy?" he looks up and notices the smile on his sister's face.
"Someone that truly loves Vanya for who she is as a person and not what she's capable of." Five softens a little, nodding. We both get up and walk towards her when she promised Sissy she would come back home. "Vanya, you have to say goodbye to Harlan and Sissy." Vanya grips the phone in her hand tightly but nods, sighing out.
"We'll see you outside." Five and I go outside and wait by his sisters car, waiting for her to come out and when she does, she gets in her car straight away. "Vanya-"
"-Five, I have to go." she purses her lips when he holds onto the car door to stop her.
"We don't have time for this!"
"I just need to-"
"-listen to me! Those people from the field are coming after us. They are never going to stop."
"Five! Stop freaking her out." I hiss out, grabbing his arm.
"Vanya, we need to stick together, find the others, figure out how to stop doomsday." I pull Five away when his sister slams the car door closed. "Whoever this person is, they can't be more important than the end of the world." this visibly pisses Vanya off and she angrily starts the car engine. "Vanya, we need to-" she drives off hastily and I pull him back before he gets run over, stopping him before he teleports after her.
"Let's just go back to Elliot's place. We'll see Vanya later. Just let her say goodbye."
He sighs out reluctantly, letting me pull him away from the diner. "Fine."
