"Nervous?" I look over at Five when he asks me, holding my hand tightly when we step off the platform of my suburb I live in.

"A little. It's... been a while. As rundown as my home suburb might be, its still my home and I've missed it." I take him along with me up the stairs and through the gates. "I kinda wanna look around the shops. See what's different."

"Lead the way sweetheart." Five smiles at me as I show him around the concourse before going down the stairs. towalk towards the big shopping centre.

"Watch out for the druggies and drunkards." I whisper to him and he nods.

"One thing similar to New York at least." he chuckles softly.

We step onto the escalator and walk up to the thrid level, walking through the automated doors and I was already hit with the difference. "Since when did we get a Taco Bell!?" I gasp, seeing some of the old shops replaced by different ones. "No way!"

I take Five to the bottom first floor to show him around as we go up each level. He looks around in awe at how quaint and close knitted everything felt. The first floor was all the groceries and food court, second floor was all the health shops and home decor and technology stuff. "We had a big Myers store that used to be here but now it's replaced by JB HI FI and Cotton On!?" I gasp as we walk around, Five had to keep me away from the clothing stores since my interest was piqued, pulling me up to the third floor and he had to keep me away from the book store too. "Five!" I whine and he chuckles.

"If I let you go, you'll be spending more than you want to." he explains and I know he was right.

"Alright... but can I at least get one pop figure!?" I beg him and he nods.

"Alright sweets. I'll get one for you."

"I'm a member of a shop that's here, they know me as Loki girl cause I keep going there to get his figures." I clear my throat in embarrassment but my sweet assassin just chuckles.

"It's cute you like your psycho types. Show me where the shop is then."

I take Five to where the shop was supposed to be but it was gone! "No! It got replaced!?" I frown. "I can't believe-was I the only one keeping them afloat from the amount of figures I kept buying form them...?"

"I'm sorry sweetheart..." Five squeezes my hand. "How about that store?" he nods to the Zing store and I nod, taking him over and I immediately get drawn to the pop figures.

"Look! Theres little you!" I point to his pop figure and he smiles. "Holy shit, there's a new Loki show!?" I gasp, seeing the new figurines. "I'm in trouble..." There were so many that I wanted to get from the new tv series I haven't seen yet!

"Baby, remember, we don't have much space in our luggage." I pout at my boyfriends words. "But I will order every single one you want when we get back home." I turn to him with wide eyes.

"Really?" he nods. "Can I get one now?"

"I did promise you that." he laughs softly, tapping my chin up affectionately and I jump in excitement, looking around and getting this limited edition Frost Giant Loki.

"This one!" Five just beams at me and pays for my figurine before pulling me away from the store so I don't get distracted again. I take him up to the fourth floor where there were sit down restaurants and my favourite cinema theatre. "And that's everything! Did you wanna get anything to eat first before we go to my place?" I ask him and he nods.

"I'm a little peckish."

"Alright! On the way there is this amazing Malaysian restaurant that does these delicious hot soup noodles! When you take it away, everything is separated in different containers so the noodles don't get soggy from the soup!" Before I could walk off, Five pulls me back with his hand holding mine and I blink at him. "What's wrong?"

He shakes his head, a giant smile on his face. "Nothing's wrong. You sharing your life with me... just makes me feel special. Plus you're really just adorable, sweets." I blush madly and he coos with a cocky grin on his face.

"Oh shut up."

"I don't think I wanna!" he teases me, kissing my cheek and I pull him along with me to the store past the station and hallway to my place. I order two Laksa noodle soups for us and pay for it as his treat, sitting down together on a cute little table as I continue telling Five about my life here. He was absolutely fascinated even though my life was completely normal. "So you witnessed actually fist fights in highschool?" he gasps and I nod.

"There was absolute bloodshed, especially when weaves were snatched!"

"I did not expect that at an all girls school."

The server comes by with our food and I thank them, letting Five try some first. "Careful it's hot." his eyes light up when he tries it. "Good?"

"Amazing!" he goes ham on the noodles and soup and I smile warmly at how much he appreciates food knowing it would've been a luxury for him in his past. I eat with him and he finishes it in no time, me eating as much as I could since I get full easy and let him have the rest when he asks me.

"Do you want me to buy another one when we head back to our hotel?" I ask and he nods eagerly. I let him choose and he picks the wonton one. I keep this to memory as I take his hand and lead him past the building to my place across the road. It felt... normal. Like another day coming home from work as I cross teh road when the signal turns green. I see the mosque up ahead and the park in front of teh apartment buildings, turning left and walking down a little further until I reach my apartment building. "And... we're here..." I look at it, pointing to where our windows are on the corner. "If you climb up on the neighbours balcony, you can legit walk around and across to reach my place through the back garden. Anyone can actually get into our house through our balcony doors if they're not locked cause we're on street level.

Five whips his head to me with a look of concern at how nonchalant I was about this. "You know this how!?"

"It's how I got into my house when I forgot my keys during high school. The neighbours weren't happy about me climbing over their balcony but they gave up on scolding me." I chuckle at the memory and he smiles, looking around.

"Do you know your neighbours?"

"Nope. We don't even know who lives here cause we don't really talk to them." I bring Five to the front door and by chance, someone was leaving and let us in.

"Do you have the keys?" my sweet assassin asks.

"Kind of. I found my old keys. The outside door lock is probably changed but our apartment door one should. bethe same as always. I found them back at home in New York in a box of my things."

"So...? Knocking...? Or just enter right in?" Five asks and I shrug.

"I don't know..."

I stumble when he suddenly gently pushes me forward and I look at him. "Go on. Knock." he encourages me and I smile anxiously. "I'll hide around teh corner here and you can call me if you want me to show up." he says and I breathe out with a nod before knocking the door. I wring my hands together before the door opens to reveal my sister.

Our eyes widen and she gawks at me while I wave shyly. "Hey..."

"No way! When did you get back home!?" she gasps.

Home... so there's a chance I could be-

"-mum! (y/n) came back!" my sister yells into the house as she drags me inside.

"What have I told you about yelling? The neighbours will get disturbed." I hear my mum and she walks out from the kitchen to see me and her eyes widen. "(y/n), when did you come back?"

"Just now..." I hold back my tears. I missed them so much.

"It's been  two years since you were gone!" my mum asks.

I missed four years with you...

"How is everything?"

So I guess it was true that I left home to live in New York.

"Everythings good!" I answer mum with a smile, hiding back the pain but it was too much and I burst into tears. I wasn't someone who liked crying in front of people but I couldn't help it.

"Why are you crying? What happened?" mum looks at me worryingly and I jump to hug her, making her surprised. "(y/n), what happened?" she hugs me back and I cry when I finally feel her warmth after so long, clinging to the back of her shirt. She looked so much older and frail. "Whatever happened, it's ok."

"You're crying?" my sister says and she gasps as I hug her, her arms up and unsure of what to do. I've never hugged her once and it was about damn time I should have. "Ok?" she awkwardly pats my back and I laugh with a happy smile, leaning back to wipe my tears. "You good? You don't like hugging people?"

"Yeah... I just missed you both so much." I say, chuckling seeing my sister even more taller than before. She just graduated highschool and I see photos of her graduation formal that I missed out on.

I missed out on going shopping with her for her first gown...

I see photos of my university graduation as well and my heart sinks.

I missed out on my graduation...

I missed out on everything that was important to me...

I see my sisters university branded hoodie and I realise I missed her getting her results for the HSC and getting into the university she wanted. I missed out on celebrating with her. Every single milestep, I missed out and it wasn't even my time to experience them yet.

It was supposed to be in another few years... not now...

"Come in! Sit down!" my mum pulls me down to sit at the dining table where she had put bowls of food she had cooked.

Today was her day off then.

I look around and my eyes narrow when I see the apartment feel a little more smaller and cluttered than before. I notice boxer briefs on the clothes rack, drying off with other clothes and that made me really confused. I peak into the ensuite bedroom-which originally was our laundry room since we folded clothes and stored them in there-to see belongings and a laptop, fan and extra wardrobes.

"What's with the extra things?" I ask and my mum and sister grimace before looking at me.

"Dads been staying with us. He got kicked out of his apartment." My sister explains and the rest clicks.

"Again!? So what, he's staying here!?" I exclaim and I look at hum. "We hate him! He can't stay here!"

"(y/n)." mum tones me down and I seethe.

"After everything-"

"-its fine. He helps with the rent and groceries-"

"-does he!?" I snap. "I know he doesn't pay shit!" my mum sighs in defeat and I tone down the annoyance. "Ok fine, whatever. Is he here?" they shake their head no and I sigh in relief.

"Where are you staying? Are you staying somewhere safe?" my family asks me and I tell them I'm staying in a hotel in the city and mum begs me to come back home and stay here. I glance at the front door knowing I can't since Five and I live together.

I can't leave him.

I won't leave him.

I ask them to catch me up on everything that I missed out on, trying not to be too suspicious that I can't remember a lot or don't know anything from the last three years. "You know all your friends are in relationships right? When are you going to find a boyfriend?" I choke on my water when my sister said that, clearing my throat from that sudden question.

"Who would be interested in me?" I shrug, peeking at the front door and hoping Five was ok outside.

"How's uni?" I ask my sister, quickly changing the subject and she groans.

"Alright. Not too busy if I'm not working."

"Wait, you're working already!?" I was shocked and she nods.

"Since August. It's November now, so a while."

My sister and my mum decided to spend as much time as they could with me, telling me stories and hearing what they were up to since I missed the last two years of my life. They were telling me gossip from work or school, spilling the tea while actually drinking our tea that I made sometime later.

"Have you unblocked dad?" my sister asks and I freeze as I hold the cup to my lips.

He's blocked?

I shake my head and mum frowns at me.

"You never told him you left home... technically you didn't tell any of us until last year."

I didn't?

"Stay for dinner (y/n)." mum asks and I nod.

"Actually... I have another surprise so don't start until I come back. Stay here." I tell my mum and sister and head outside quickly to see Five leaning against the wall, looking bored as he read on his phone and he looks up when he hears me.

"How is it going?"

"Well actually." he reached sover to hold my waist, like second nature to always touch me and I hug him tightly as I lean my head on his chest. "Do you... want to come in?" He clears his throat, glancing at the door as he grips my hips a little tighter like he was nervous. "They won't bite, well my sister might chew your head off with questions but they're sweet." I take hold of my boyfriend's hand to calm him down and he lets out a heavy breath, smiling at me. "Ready?"

Five presses a sweet kiss on my lips before nodding. "Ready, my love." I smile with a blush and pull him towards my apartment door, opening it and pulling him in with me as he locks the door behind him.

"What's the surprise?" my sister asks as she peaks her head into the hallway and gasps when she sees my boyfriend, pointing at him and I smack her hand away.

"Pointing is rude. Also, this is the surprise, well, person I wanted to bring over. This is Five, my boyfriend." she gawks at me.

"You're kidding." I shake my head, blushing when Five pulls me to his side. "MUM YOUR WISHES CAME TRUE (Y/N) HAS A BOYFRIEND!" my sister screams out and I try to shush her when she grabs our arms to drag us into the house. My mum comes out from the kitchen with a look of shock on her face, dropping the spoon she was holding and my sweet assassin chuckles nervously.

"Hello, I'm Five Hargreeves. It's nice to meet you-" he gasps when my mum suddenly pulls him into a hug and he looks at me with wide eyes, pleading to help him.

"Mum, let him go!" I pull him away and she quickly apologises.

"I'm sorry dear, it's just (y/n) didn't talk to anyone except her friends and she wasn't interested in anyone for years! You're her first boyfriend! I thought she would never be with someone!" I quickly shush my mum, looking at Five in embarrassment but he was smirking at me.

"Your first boyfriend huh." he wiggles his eyebrows and I smack his arm lightly.

"Shut up." I hiss at him, wondering why everyone was suddenly roasting me now.

"Go sit, explore, do whatever you want. You're part of the family now! I'll just be right back with dinner, I'm almost done." Mum gently pushes us further into the house and I take Five to sit down on the couch with me. "Do you want anything to drink? Any snacks or soft drinks you want-"

"-no no, I'm all good. Thank you though." Five weakly smiles at my mum, not used to his every need taken care of by someone else. My sister sits down on the other couch in the room, staring at my boyfriend intensly.

"So you're my sister's boyfriend?" he nods at her question. "How long have you known each other? When did you start dating? Have you said 'I love you' to her yet? How did you meet and why are you dating her?" Five blinks at the barrage of questions thrown at him, turning to me and I shrug.

"Told you." I whisper to him.

I had warned him on the train.

"(y/n) and I have known each other for 5 years. We started dating last year in March so it's been a little over a year and a half, and yes I love her, I have told her I love her many times." I blush as Five leans over to hold my hand, smiling down at me.

"You could say we bumped each other at a reunion in New York. I mocked his walk." I chuckle and he nods at the memory.

"Ok, but why are you dating her? She's so boring." I glare at my sister and she chuckles. "I'm joking, I'm glad you found someone."

"(y/n)'s been with me through some hard times, she was by my side and I am forever grateful for her." I blush harder at his words, looking over at my mum who was so happy she looked like she might combust.

"Ok, you two are so lovey-dovey its gross but I'm happy for you two." my sister stands up and so do we but she stops in front of Five. "My sister won't hesitate to punch someone but if you break her heart, I won't hesitate to hurt you much worse." she warns him and I chuckle as Five pales knowing that I wouldn't think twice to haul ass and he knew not to underestimate my little sister since she was way taller than him, even though she was younger than both of us.

"I'll show you the bedroom." I pull him away from my sister, opening the door.

"There are two beds in here?" my sweet assassin walks in, looking at the room filled with stuff. There was a shelf with a pink trunk on it next to a taller bookshelf filled with old high school textbooks and a table next to the bookshelf.

"The smaller one is my mums and the bigger one I used to share with my sister. We all slept in the same room together. We couldn't sleep without each other."

"That's adorable." Five coos, chuckling at the pink bed sheets. There were a couple of old primary award trophies on the bookshelf plus a few novels that were mine I jump on the bed as Five looked around, taking things out to look through. "Your house is cozy. It's very warm and homey."

"Really? It feels cluttered with the amount of shit we have in such a small space."

"But that's what makes it cozy." he says as he sits down next to me. "All this belongs to you and represents a part of you from your past. A big mansion like I lived in doesn't mean it felt like home..." he sighs out softly. "We couldn't keep our belongs out in the house like this, put up posters or drawings on the walls. It wasn't a family home." I take his hand and entwine our fingers, him squeezing my hand.

"Well, you're always welcome here. My mum would be happy if we stayed here but don't tell her that. She would try to make you stay here." Five chuckles and we both stand up to leave. He was about to go to the other room but I quickly block him. "That's apparently dads room now." his eyes widen when he hears me say that. "I'll explain later." he nods and we walk back into the livingroom, his attention being caught on the pictures on the wall.

"Is that you!? How did I miss those!" he gasps, pointing at the baby pictures of me and my sister hanging on the wall. "You're so cute!"

"Yeah, I was a good-looking baby back then. Now, not so much." I chuckle, shrugging but Five frowns at me.

"You're beautiful then, now and forever." He says, my mum and my sister awing loudly at his words and he blushes brightly.

"You two come sit down! Dinner is ready!" my boyfriend gawks at the amount of food on the table, sitting down next to me after I helped my mum put out all the plates and cups. "Take whatever you like!" mum explains what was what and he takes almost everything since he really liked the smell of my mum's cooking and that made her really happy.

"Oh I missed your food!" my mum chuckles at my words. We all ate happily, my sister teasing me and telling Five embarrassing stories about me that I probably had no memory of. Mum suddenly takes out the baby photo albums and I tried to stop her but Five managed to grab one to look through.

"You really were a cute baby." He chuckles, seeing the pictures of how my mum used to dress me up like a doll.

I'm glad he felt at ease with my family.
