(y/n) - your name

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I raise a hand and grasp my shoulder, feeling the wet stickiness of blood as I huddle to hide behind a table for safety. Five teleports outside the shop and he sees me on the floor, a look of worry flashing on his face.

"I'm fine!" I yell out and he nods hesitantly, covering my head until the rain of bullets stops.

He knocks on the glass door soon after, the men turning away from me to face him and he teleports away again before they rained bullets at where he previously stood. It was quiet for a few seconds until Five teleported next to a broom and snaps it in half with his foot, teleporting to the man that shot at him and stabbed his side. He disappears and lands behind another guy, using his own tie to snap his neck easily. I get up and roll my shoulders back, seeing a man aim his gun at Five when he doesn't realise and I don't know how, but I was able to throw a plate at him. He gets confused as Five stabs a guy in the nuts with a pencil.

"Oh, right in the family jewels. That's gotta hurt." I wince out and Five looks at me, scoffing with a smile on his face as he pulls out the pencil before shoving it in the guy's eyes. He sighs out and stands up but I see two more guys stand up with their guns aimed.

Oh shit!

"Five! Watch out!" I run towards the unsuspecting boy, shoving him to the ground as the two guys raise their guns up to shoot. I duck my head down as bullets rain over me, the guys accidentally shooting each other dead. I breathe out heavily, trying to calm down my racing heart from the whole fight and I slowly lift my head to look around, checking if there was anything else.

"Uh..." I suddenly hear Five clear his throat and I look down, gasping in shock to see him under me. He looks up at me with wide eyes, realising I was straddling him with my hands on his chest and his hands holding my hips. "Oh shit! I'm so sorry!" I scramble to get up but he forgets to let me go and I fall back down on his chest.

"Shit!" he lets me go and I quickly get off him, absolutely flustered as I rub my neck. Five sits up slowly, him equally as flustered as I was. The lights flickered and I could see his cheeks a bit pink and I bet my own were the same.

"It's fine." I cough out, trying to play it cool and he slowly gets up on his feet.

"Thanks for looking out for me." I nod and he gets up on his feet, holding a hand out for me to grab. I grab it and gasp as he pulls me up on my feet, stumbling against his chest but I quickly step back away from him. He walks away to finish off one last guy that was trying to crawl away, snapping his neck while I went to grab his tie from around the one dead guy.

"Your tie..." My mind was running miles per second, walking up to Five but I shake my head as he walks back to me. "Here." I fix his tie around his neck when he lowers down for me to put it on him, looking away shyly as I tugged down his collar to fix his appearance. "Much better." I smile and he turns to look at me, a sudden look of realisation on his face.

"Wait, how are you touching me right now?" I blink up at him and he stutters. "Not like that! I mean like, how are you not phasing through me?" I shrug and look down at my hands as I stretched out my fingers. They looked solid, not slightly transparent like before when I got here.

"I have no clue." Five looks at my shoulder and frowns, touching the bullet wound and I wince. "Don't worry, it's just a graze. The bullet didn't go through me." I shrug his hand off and his frown deepens.

"That is not just a graze." He narrows his eyes at me. "We need to patch you up-" Five gasps as his hand suddenly goes through me and I shudder, stepping away from him. "-wait, I thought-" I look down and my hands are back to being slightly transparent.

Well damn. Back to being a ghost, I guess.

"Forget about it. You need to get the tracker out of your arm." I say, pointing out to the device that was tracking him and he picks it up. He sets it down on the table, teleporting away to grab a sharp knife and coming back as he rolled his sleeve up. I blush as he flexes his arm, fisting his hand but I look away as he picks up the knife to slice his skin open. I grimace at the sounds and busy myself with my phone to turn the music off, turning back when Five managed to pull out the tracker in his arm.

"Let's go." he stands up and fixes his sleeves, heading to the front door and holding it open for me as we both leave Griddy's Donuts.

He drops the tracker on the floor, walking to the car and opening the door for me like a gentleman. "Vanya's place?" I ask as I get in and he shuts it before going around to get in himself.

"Vanya's place." Five nods as he drives off and I let out a heavy sigh, finally relaxing back against the car seat from the mayhem I just witnessed in person.

I grasp my shoulder, wincing as blood continued to drip down my arm slowly, ruining my hoodie. "I'm making a mess..."

"I need to stitch you up."

"How are you going to do that when you can't even touch me?" Five glances at me.

"You need to be solid-"

"-I know what you mean but I don't think I can control it."

"It's like having powers, you just need to try and control it." Five says and I roll my eyes at the useless advice.

"Wow, great advice. You do realise I've never had powers before-or something equivalent. That's something we don't have in my universe."

"Wait, there isn't an Umbrella Academy? No super kids?" he asks, intrigued at the idea of a normal world.

"No. Nothing like that. No Hargreeves, no Umbrella Academy, no superpowers."

Well, only in fiction and on screen...

"Interesting. Do you know what the me in your universe does?"

"No, never met you in my world." I quickly say the half-truth, looking out the window as we drove down the quiet road. It looked like it was just us outside, staring up at the night sky. I was surprised at how quickly I had just come to terms that I was in the Umbrella Academy, the show that I had watched multiple times. Sitting in a car with The Five Hargreeves.

It was insane and crazy and just unreal.

But he's there, right next to me.

I turn to look at Five as he focused on the road, the street lights lighting up his face every now and then in a lovely way. Hair touseled and green eyes flashing, hands holding the wheel tightly as his jaw clenched. He looks over at me and he furrows his brows.

"Don't go to sleep. Keep your eyes open and stay awake ok." he quickly says, suddenly stepping on the pedal to drive faster and I just nod.

I was slowly growing tired. "Alright..."

"Come on! Wake up" I blink my eyes open, confused as I see Five shaking me gently before his hands phase through me and he quickly leans away from me.

"What?" I mumble out, rubbing my eyes to get rid of the sleepiness and he purses his lips at me.

"I thought-nevermind. We're here." he quickly gets out of the car and I peer out the front windscreen of the car to see that we were parked in front of an apartment building. I jump out of the car when he opens the door for me, the both of us walking towards the building as we looked up.

"Second floor right?" I ask and he nods. "How are we getting in?"

"We can just blink." Five says like it was the most simplest thing ever and I raise a brow at him as he simply looks at me, almost as if he was waiting.

"Hey genius, how am I supposed to get up there-" he suddenly grabs my unwounded arm and I'm quickly blinded by blue light. The next thing I know I was in the dark somewhere and I stumbled forward, hissing in pain as I bump my hip against a table. "-fuck! Warn me next time!" I rub my side, hagging at how queasy my stomach felt. "I am not doing that again!" I groan, blinking from the light that Five flicks on to illuminate the apartment. He teleports to me while ignoring my complaints, touching my hoodie.

His hand doesn't phase through and he nods, quickly teleporting around the small apartment before coming back to me with a first aid kit. "Take your hoodie off." I do as I'm told, wincing from the slight pain as I take it off to leave myself in my oversize black shirt and I sit down on the couch. He stands in front of me, tugging down my sleeve and I hiss harshly.

"Easy!" I grasp my shoulder since it was burning and he stops, frowning softly.

"Sorry. Just... hold your shirt down." He mumbles quietly and I furrow my brows at him, moving to hold my sleeve down for him so he could fix me up.

He's never apologised before.

I don't think he ever has on the show.

Why did he just say it to me...?

"I have to stitch it up."

"Hell no!" I quickly jump away to escape but Five tugs me back harshly, glaring at me and holding me still on the couch. "Don't you dare!"

"Sit still!" he hisses softly and I glare at him as he gets a needle and some thread. I close my eyes to avoid looking at it, holding the couch tightly and I yelp from the sudden piercing pain.

"Five!" I snap at him, gripping his arm tightly as he stitched me up.

"Almost done." he mumbles out and I open my eyes to look at my shoulder, my breath hitching when I realise how close Five was to me as he leaned closer to fix my wound. I look away, trying not to focus on his face being so close to mine, feeling his breath fan my neck and I scrunch my eyes closed again as I held his arm tightly.

Fuck! Hurry up.

I finally feel him pull back and I open my eyes to see him put on some gauze but he stops. "I won't be able to put on the bandage if you don't let me go." I blink at him in confusion until he nods down and I look down to see that I was gripping his arm tightly, my nails piercing him. I let him go quickly and he finishes patching me up, wondering why he let me hold onto him like that. "See, wasn't so bad." he rolls his eyes as he packs up the kit.

"I've never been stitched up before! Of course, I'm going to react like that! I've never been hurt before or almost hit with a bullet!" I exclaim but I purse my lips as I see Five falter when I said that. I regret saying that when I notice the frown on his face. "Five I didn't mean-" He ignores me and I notice the blood dripping from his wrist, remembering his own wound. "Wait your arm-" he stops me from grabbing the kit, shaking his head when we hear keys rattling. He sits down on a chair and turns the light off quickly to keep him hidden in the dark just in case.

The door opens and I know Vanya walked into her apartment, Five dramatically turning on the lamp next to him and startling her. "Jesus!"

"You should have locks on your windows." I step back and stand behind Five, leaning against the chair with my arms crossed.

"I live on the second floor." his sister sighs out as she drops her key in the bowl, shutting the door behind her.

"Rapists can climb." I mimic Five and he glares at me while I just grin back.

"You are so weird." Vanya says, taking her coat off before moving to sit on the couch. "Is that blood?" She looks at her brother in worry when she notices the blood but he dismisses her.

"It's nothing."

"It's not nothing." I grumble under my breath but he shoots me a look.

"Why are you here?"

"I've decided that you're the only one I can trust."

"Why me?"

"Because you're ordinary-shit!" I wack Five at the back of his head, glaring at him as he turns around to face me with a sneer. "Was that necessary!?"

"Watch what you say, idiot! Don't be mean to her!" He rubs his head and turns back to face his sister who looked at him like he was crazy.

"Is someone here?"

"Yeah. It's-" Five pauses and he realises that he never got my name.

"The names (y/n)." I chuckle.

He blinks at me, his cheeks getting red again but he looks at Vanya and clears his throat. "A girl named (y/n). I accidentally brought her here to our world when I was trying to time travel back." she still looked at him like he was nuts. I sigh, taking my phone out and putting my flash on before taking a picture.

Vanya jumps, seeing a random flash of light from behind Five. "Was that her?" he nods.

"Tell her to give me her number. It'll be easier to talk." he does what I ask and I end up calling his sisters phone.

"Hello?" My voice rings through Vanya's phone as she gapes at it in shock and I fist pump the air at the fact that it worked. "Nice to finally meet you Vanya! I've been a huge fan for a very long time!"

"Why thank you." she smiles when she heard that.

"I really love how you play the violin so beautifully! I wish I was talented enough to play an instrument like you-"

"-can we get back to the issue at hand." Five growls out and I shut up. "Like I said. I trust you because I know you'll listen."

"Ok." his sister looks at the first aid kit that was already on the coffee table, taking out what she needed to fix her brothers wound. He looks at her softly, letting her fix him up gently and I know he was thinking about seeing her body in the apocalypse.

"When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?" Five asks and Vanya shakes her head.

"No..."

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing. As far as I could tell, I was the last person left alive. I never figure out what killed the human race, but... I did find something else. The date it happens. The world ends in 8 days, and I have no idea how to stop it." Vanya looks at Five in shock, trying to process his words.

"...I'll put on a pot of coffee...."
