Date Covered in a Flash.
Saying I was shaking would be an understatement, I was a milkshake blended for 20 years. I was meeting him again and of course I had my doubts that he would show up but I brought my Polaroid just in case. As I turned the corners I reread the text he sent of the time to make sure I had everything perfect, something I didn't usually try for.
The olive garden seemed average busy at this time so I made my way in glad to see only a few people waiting. Searching I saw a family of four and a male with a hair bun, a longer trench coat and some Chelsea boots that seemed sparkly in the dimmed light.
"Um John Doe?" I chuckled at the fact I still was unaware of his name.
He jumped slightly and turned around towards me smiling, "You made it!"
"Of course! I wouldn't miss the chance to get to know you," I grinned back at him as he pulled me into a hug I returned equally as passionate.
"Great well lets go get our table and begin the interrogation," he winked at me and walked up to the podium and spoke a few words.
We were soon led through the rows of seats to a two-seater by the windows. I sat down easily since I was not a skirt type of female and grabbed my camera.
"May I?" I asked not intending to forcefully take future pictures.
"Anytime," I jumped with glee and snapped a picture instantly, unsure of what it would look like due to the fact he was chuckling.
"So who begins the questioning?" I waved the picture around and sat it down.
"If you don't mind I will. Since I already know your occupation, how about age?"
"24, what about you?"
"26," he smiled and picked up the menu scanning it unsure. "Not going to lie I have never been here before. What's good?"
"Salad always, oh and their pasta is to die for I promise!" glancing at the photo I began chuckling at the grimace of a face he had made. Then his tongue was sticking out as his eyes were motioned inward.
"I'll hold you up to that promise," he stared at me over the menu as he scanned it a few times. "Aren't you going to get something?"
"Oh yes! I just have a usual so I have no need to look at the menu," I grabbed my camera again, snapping an in motion picture of him as he stared at me curious.
"Why do you love photography so much?"
"Its not about the photography, it's about the art of um well how do I explain it without sounding like a murdered? capturing someones soul in a single moment I guess?"
"So that s why you took the picture of me that day!" he sat back in his chair triumphantly and folded his arms in front easily as I snapped another photo.
"Yes it is now John Doe who are you really?" I leaned in towards him hoping to "intimidate" him.
"Ah ah ah. Patience young Jedi," he leaned in towards me till we were almost nose to nose.
"I love you already," I sat back laughing.
"Oh and you didn't before? I'm offended!" he made the most insincere shocked face I had ever seen causing me to laugh more.
"Love takes time mate," I attempted some kind of accent and by the nose pinching look on his face it wasn't very good.
"Please never again love," his eyes crinkled slightly as he laughed, shutting them. His laugh echoed through our area making me feel at ease.
Our dinner contained eating, about 20 more pictures of him and many questions that seemed only directed towards me. We began our descent outside where I noticed people rudely staring at us. Curiously I looked around and saw phones pointed towards us as well.
As we turned the corner towards the doors I was met with blinding lights causing me to halt and shield my eyes.
"It's okay I got you just follow my lead and don't respond to them," his large yet comforting hand rested on my lower back pushing me towards the door as I tried hard to see where I was going. I knew these were cameras but I didn't understand why the commotion. I felt more lost than when I first moved to the city.
"What why what's going on?" His arm snaked around my waist even more as he struggled to push the doors open.
"Harry dude stop for a picture!"
"Who is she? Harry stop!"
"Harry!"
I felt numerous cold hands against me as his warm one guided me down the walkway or so I hoped since I couldn't really tell.
"Okay love I'm sorry to ask this but you're going to need to run," he shouted to me over the 15 screaming men surrounding us.
"O-okay," His hand left my waste and grabbed onto my hand tugging me forward into a jog.
I was almost about to collapse by the time we only had a couple of flashes left following behind.
"You did great! I'm sorry I had to ruin our night with that," both of us were out of breathe as we looked around trying to figure out where we were.
"I have no idea where we are," he scratched at his head and turned around in a circle a couple times. If you could imagine a dog chasing its tail, that's probably what he looked the most like.
Looking I noticed we were just down the street from the cafe, "Oh we're right next to my apartment, you can call for a car from there if you'd like?"
"That would be amazing love, especially since I see some of them coming back."
"Follow me then, um harry is it?"
"Yes Harry Styles," he stood waiting, for what I had no idea.
"Nice to finally know your name! Now lets go!" we began our jog to my apartment, with me in the lead this time.
When we finally got there he called whoever he needed as I attempted fixing some of the clutter up.
"I apologize for the mess. I don't usually have guests, well ever," I chuckled not really caring that he saw. I knew it as organized chaos and anyone who argued would know the door very well.
"I don't mind at all. My car will be here in about 10. But thank you for an amazing night! I am so glad I got to spend this time with you,"
"Same, I had so much fun! I just have one question since the date isn't technically over yet."
"Yes?"
"Why were there camera men following us?" I sat crisscrossed on the couch as he came over and stood in front of me.
"Well I'm considered famous or an idol, but my occupation is a singer. There are a lot of perks but even more negatives as you partially witnessed tonight," he dropped down onto the couch next to me easily and sighed tiredly.
"That was a negative? That was fun to me," I smiled taking out my camera to snap a photo of him.
"Really? You aren't bothered by it?" he looked genuinely shocked at my response as he sat up.
"Nope. I'd just make a game out of it at some point. No point in looking at anything negatively," I turned towards him still crisscrossed.
"Wow I have never thought of it that way," he sat back slowly, brows furrowed.
We sat there pondering our thoughts. Well he pondered, I sorted through the pictures and took a few more.
Soon a buzz began echoing through the living room and he pulled out the latest phone, which I was just seeing for the first time since the date started. Not a money flaunt-er I guessed.
"Yes?" "Okay, I'll be right down."
"Your rides here?"
"Yeah I'm sorry. Maybe we can get together again. I had an amazing night. You were right about the pasta too."
"Of course I'd love to! It was really an amazing night," he stood up, as did I, and we hugged as long as we felt comfortable and he left. It felt really empty even if he wasn't here long.
I, however, went to my bedroom and picked out all the parts that I should be embarrassed about from the last couple hours. The list was almost a novel it was so long.
I hadn't had a chance to really look at any of the photos but there were already piled up on my bedside table. Flinging back into my mattress I held up the photos like a hand of cards and beamed with happiness. Most of them weren't blurry and he had tried to look at the camera in almost everyone of them. He really must be famous if he knows how to work the camera so well.
Notes;
I've actually only been to an olive garden like once 10 years ago, I only remember having a pink drink
