The Things I Want To Be

I want to be everything.

I want to be cold, harsh truth:
Revered but disliked,
Filter free and honest.
I want to be careful, diplomatic lies:
Loved by all but guilty,
Filled with hidden godly power.

I want to be sarcasm; pessimism:
One with the rebellion,
Realistic and chaotic and cool-
And angry, so angry I could bring the world down.
I want to be pragmatic optimism:
Brimming with energy and joy,
Happy and calm and idealistic-
So high up no anchor could ever pin me down.

I want to be loud and carefree;
Throwing caution into the wind
My proclamations of freedom
going unchallenged.
And I want to be quietly present;
Letting the wind become
A part of me.

I want to ruin and be ruined,
To protect and to be protected,
To be loved and hated and rejoiced,
To last forever but live fleetingly;
I want to be everything and nothing
And it scares me.
