Chapter 9- Blinded By The Stars: Part 1
Aphmau POV
My leg was in a lot of pain, but it wasn't hurting as much as before. I slowly opened my eyes confused as to why I only saw the darkness.
"Hey, who turned of the lights?" I questioned, why was the lights turned off?
I slowly sat up straight ignoring the pain from my leg. My head was aching it's only minor. I'm sure if the lights were off I would at least see something. I frowned, I heard gasps in the distance but I had no idea who was around me. Complete darkness surrounds me just like in my dreams. Nothing but darkness.
"Zoey?! Turn on the lights please." I started panicking.
"Aphmau..." she started off slowly, I could tell she was crying.
"That lights are on." She finished letting me digest the information.
If the lights are on, and my eyes are open, but I can't see a thing, it only means one thing.
I'm blind.
I let the tears flow freely down my face. What happened? Why couldn't I see? I hiccup a sob. I could felt someone embracing me in a hug, I could tell it was Emmalyn.
"Who else is in this room?" I blinked the tears away from my eyes.
Emmalyn cleared her throat." Um, well. Me, Zoey, Kiki, Lucinda and..." She stopped speaking.
"And?"
She took in a deep breath."Laurance, Garroth, Zane, Travis Dante...Kawaii Chan, Katelyn and Cadenza." What are they doing here.
I sat up from Emmalyn's lap." You mean the group of weird people who called themselves Vampires?" I looked down visualising my lap.
"Uh...yeah?"
Everyone was silent until I broke the demeaning silence." What happened?"
She was quite before responding." Uh...you, were...um, You fell from the balcony on the roof of the school?" Emmalyn said, turning her answer into a question.
"Yes, uh someone pushed you down by accident, we're still trying to find out who did it. Probably someone chicken enough not to admit it themselves. Um, you ended up banging your head on the concrete ground and broke your leg. Perhaps you banged your head to hard to have a temporary blindness, your eyesight should come back in a few weeks....or months." She mumbled the last part quietly to herself I couldn't catch what she said.
It's only temporary, so I cried for no reason? Well not for no reason, my leg does really hurt and I do have some sort of a huge headache. I always admired the people who weren't able fulfil their dreams, instead they earned it by never giving up, so why should I mop all day for something that's only temporary.
"Oh! Then everything will be okay." I tried to find the ledge of the bed to swing my legs over.
"What are you doing?" Lucinda's frantic voice rang through my ears.
"Well I'm not gonna be lazy and lay down for the whole day. That's a boring thing to do and besides, I'm not sleepy-"
"But you injured!" A voice I couldn't identify took control of the conversation.
"But, I don't care! Oh- so mysterious voice." I hummed.
I stood up hopping on my good leg trying to balance on one leg. I could hear a few people chuckling in the background making me to smile. My stomach growled causing my face to flush a dark red. The chuckles turned into a laughter while I tried to cover my bare face with my cold hands. I felt someone grabbing my hand steadying my balance a bit better. Tingles shot up my arm as I relaxed my hold on the persons arm. I visibly slumped as the persons arm wrapped around my shoulder making it better to hop. I heard someone snickering in the background but I chose to ignore it. I grabbed a hold on the persons arm but I instantly let go as I was pushed down on a chair...that started moving?
"Oh no! I'm not sitting on a wheel chair, I do not like any sorts of hospitality because that's why they do in hospitals, and...I Do Not Like Hospitals." I stated, stubbornly crossing my arm over the other.
I heard a masculine sigh, before the wheelchair started moving. A feeling of déjà vu ran past me as I sped downstairs tightly gripping the wheelchair for dear life until we finally stopped moving.
"How did you go down so fast?" I pant heavily still scared to let go of the wheelchair.
I imagined the person to shrug since he didn't reply to my question.
"Can you at least put music on, it's so quite down here." I heard a horde of footsteps continuously walking down the stairs while chatting about something I couldn't care less about.
Music floods my ears as leaned my elbow in the handles of the wheelchair so I could rest my chin. Knowing I couldn't do anything. I closed my eyes thinking about how my life changed so far. My grandma passed away, I attend a school called Phoenix Drop high , I have amazing friends, I got attacked by something in the middle of the woods and I had a Christmas party at my new school. And now I'm here in a strangers house surrounded by my friends and a group of weird people who call themselves vampires, I'm not hating against their choice of name for a group, I just find it quite weird that they decided to call themselves...vampires.
"Can I ask something?" Everyone hushed their voices until everyone was quite.
"You already asking one aren't ya?" A cheeky voice spoke making everyone else chuckled.
"No I was just wondering, why do you call yourselves...the vampires?" Everyone was silent causing me to frown in confusion.
No one spoke a single word. They left me back deep in the mids of my thoughts. I couldn't help but wonder, can they see under the mask that I disguise on my face, the one I that I hid my tears and sorrows. Do they feel pity towards me? I don't want them to feel any sympathy because I'm a big girl, who can take on big things. Does my Mum know that I have temporary blindness. Or did Emmalyn lie about my blindness even being temporary? All these unanswered questions that need answers spreads across my brain.
"Maybe because we like the name, it suits us very well." A girly voice spoke with strong voice that I couldn't identify whose it was, maybe Katelyn.
I sighed running fingers across through the knots in my hair. Maybe they're lying about that as well. I closed my eyes not bothered to listen to any of the lies that has been told. I want to know the truth, what happened to me? I know I didn't fall of a four story building otherwise I wouldn't of even survived. Something's up, and I'm going to find out exactly what they're hiding.
Even if I'm 'temporary' blind.

I know... short and boring chapter, but next chapter let more action commence! I bet you didn't think Aphmau would be so chill about the whole kind of situation.
Next chapter is going to be interesting... Not going to spoil anything, but I'll be updating very...soon. I think.
