Aphmau POV  

The next day, wasn't any different. I met my homeroom teacher, Ms. Greenwood. She wasn't like those snobby teachers, she was this really nice understanding person, who don't get you in trouble every second of your life. Did I mention that she is a huge fan of nature? Well she loves the Wild life, today we're going to take a stroll through the Yggdrasil forest for the whole afternoon and I was really hyped, unlike my indolent classmates I was extremely exited, Zoey even explained to me that she was from a country that was also called the Yggdrasil. I liked exploring new places that I haven't explored. It just builds up the mystery of discovering new things.

We all left our bags in our homeroom, since we had the rest of the day off. Fortunately Zoey, Kiki, Lucinda and Emmalyn were in my homeroom as well, so we all decided to stick together for this little trip,  I also found out that the 'Vampires' were in the same homeroom as me.

When I moved back to Phoenix Drop I didn't bother looking around because I only visited to see my mum, but now I realised how much actually I missed. All around Phoenix Drop were forests and beautiful fields full of pretty flowers, but I also noticed how small the town is. Either way I'm glad I'm living here again.

We had to wear our hiking boots, to make it easier to walk through the hills and fields. We strolled up a huge hill that met with the outskirts of a huge forest. Ms.Greenwood assured as to huddle together in groups so if either of us gets lost, it will be easier to work as a team to find our way out and also she said it was better experience for our teamwork skills.

The five of us held hands tightly so we wouldn't lose each other, we stomped through the trails of trees until we found the path leading directly in the forest. The forest was packed with trees and animals, I don't know why Ms Greenwood would want to walk through this place when there is a high chance of us getting hurt, but maybe it's because she still wants to explore while she's still young. Ms. Greenwood is only in her 20s making her very active for her age. I admire her for not being those teachers who are cramped up in the classroom doing- who knows what.

"Guys, I got a bad feeling about this place, it gives me the creeps." Zoey pretends to shiver in fright.

"Oh stop being a chicken Zoey!" Emmalyn smirked.

"I'm not a chicken." Zoey stomped her foot childishly on the ground.

"Hah! Yes you are!" Lucinda snorted.

Kiki laughed. "Guys, stop picking on Zoey, it's not her fault she's a chicken!" Everyone laughed.

"Hey! Don't worry Zoey, I don't think your a chicken, in fact I'm getting the creeps from this place as well, you can barely see the sun by the amount of trees that is covering the sunlight." I held tightly on my sleeves of my coat shivering from the coldness.

"Anyways, let's talk about something else like....uh, Christmas!" Everyone mumbled in agreement.

"Oh yeah, on Friday the schools hosting a Christmas party and I'm helping the decoration committee!" Lucinda jumped up excitedly.

Zoey and Kiki also jumped up."Ooohhh! What are we gonna wear???" They said in sync.

"Maybe after school we can go Christmas shopping and while we're at it we can get presents for each other, since Christmas is on the day after." Emmalyn casually walked forward.

I suddenly stopped as I realised something.

"Aphmau, why did you stop?" Zoey stopped, making the others stop as well.

"Where's everyone else gone?" I frantically looked around to see we walked off the path.

"Where's the path???" Kiki panicked distraughtly looking around.

Everyone started to panic letting go of each other's hands, I stood in the same spot, figuring out what to do next, my mind suddenly turned back on.

"Guys! Come back, it'll be even more worse if we separated. We might as well be together, then split up and I'm sure we're not so far from the trail!" The girls slowly gathered back together holding each other's hand with a strong grip.

"Yeah guys, we shouldn't panic, Aphmau's right. We need to stick together to find our way back to the trail." Emmalyn said. Everyone nodded their head in agreement.

"Yeah, but we need to do it fast, remember it's winter? Well, the sun would be setting in an hour, so let's quickly find our way back." Lucinda added.

"But which way did we come from?" Zoey scratched her head.

"Uhh..." Kiki chuckled nervously.

"The outskirts is the South of the forest, but which way is the South?" Emmalyn shook her head with her hands.

"Oh! I got it!" Everyone looked at Zoey.

She started humming a tune to a song and soon started dancing weirdly.

"Never Eat Sloppy Weetabix!" She randomly turned to different directions until she pointed towards the south.

We all just looked at her weirdly before shaking our heads, before walking towards the south. Well that helped. She caught up to us while I quickly grasped onto her hand so we don't lose her as she was jumping like a little kid who got a chocolate bar. Should I be worried?

We carried on walking towards the south keeping on a look out for a gravel path. We had no luck in finding the trail yet and the sun was starting to set. We stopped by a huge tree that had huge leaves overhanging from the top.

"We've been searching for an hour and yet we haven't found any stupid path!" Lucinda groaned in frustration.

Everyone sighed giving up in the situation, we plopped down on the muddy ground not caring if we get our clothes dirty. My ears perked as I heard some sort of shuffling in the bushes, my neck snapped towards the left as so did everyone else's. They all hid behind me crouching down next to the huge dark wood tree. I stood up bending down a bit, I tip toed towards the bush as it shuffled a bit more. The more closer I got, the more I felt scared.

Suddenly something jumped out of the bush making me scream and fall on top on top of Zoey, who fell on top of Kiki and Kiki fell on top of Emmalyn, who landed on Lucinda. We were all stacked up like dominos. It was kind of funny seeing as I didn't get hurt. I watched as a bunny hopped towards the opposite direction.

"Ow!" They all groaned in pain pushing each other off themselves.

I was the first to get up when I heard something growling noise behind the same bush.

"Uh guys, did you hear that?" I nervously chuckled standing stiffly.

"It's probably another stupid rabbit." Kiki mumbled.

The growling became even louder causing the others to stare at the bush wide eyed.

"One the count of three, run!" Emmalyn whispered.

"One."

I could hear footsteps walking towards us.

"Two."

The creature snarled, rustling in the bushes.

"Three."

We heard nothing.

A huge creature jumped out of the bush staring at us, like we were the prey with its vivid green eyes.

"Run!!" We left no time to talk as we were already on our feet.

I sprinted, running as fast as I could. Lucinda was ahead telling us to run faster, I was at the back of the girls since I was the closest to the monster. Tears dripped from my eyes in fright, my legs ached in pain but I kept on running. I felt like giving up, I could hear the monster bearing its teeth at me signalling me to run faster. Everyone was ahead of me but I kept telling them to run. My legs gave up on me as I tumble to the ground grazing my knee deeply on a log. I knew I shouldn't have worn shorts.

I cried out in pain holding my hands in front of me thinking it can protect me from fates desire. The monster slowly walks towards me as if marking me as it's food. It suddenly runs towards me pawing me down with its sharp claws. It slowly opened its mouth readying itself for its meal, instantaneously the monster was pushed off of me swiftly held against the tree. My vision was blurry from the tears that unleashed from my eyes.

The monster disappeared leaving me with a person staring at me with its dark, blue eyes, as if struggling to do something, the person disappeared leaving the me with a slap of wind blowing on my injured knee. I couldn't help but remember same the blue eyes from my dream, was it all reality?

The girls snapped out of their mesmerised state, helping me up, by slinging my arm on Zoey and Kiki's shoulder.

"Aphmau are you okay?" Lucinda asked. "Emmalyn found the trail while we were running, but we realised you weren't behind us, so we went back and we found you on the ground injured and sobbing."

"I-I'm fine. Let's just go back." I tried to smile.

"Okay." All of them sadly smiled back.

Questions lingered through my brain, making me all confused and dizzy.

Who attacked me and who saved me?
