Chapter 26: Ivan...
Aphmau POV
I was still inside the mansion that was collapsing bit by bit. I just felt attached to this place, I've spent a lot of time in this mansion, and I'm not willing to just let a part of my memory just vanish into the past. I felt indignant towards Lillian. My anger seemed to increase the strength of the fire that was setting everything in this mansion on flames. I needed to calm down, or this fire could stretch out, I took deep breathes trying to balance my emotions. I keep telling myself I'll get revenge later, releasing my anger right now, is not the best of ideas. By now, everyone must think I'm dead or unconscious.
I quickly ran up the cricked stairway, there was something that was very important to both Laurance and Cadenza, the picture frame of their deceased mother. Since the fire did not effect me in anyway, I used it to my advantage and ran up the stairs and down the corridor at ease. I found their parents room, the room that Laurance never let anyone inside besides Cadenza and...me.
The door was burnt down, weirdly the smoke cleared out, running away as if I'm the plague; which I found quiet offensive, stupid smoke. I sighed in relief as the picture frame was on the ground, the glass was shattered but the picture still stood, and that was all that mattered. The fire got worst every minute, and knowing the others once they've escaped the force field that was clearly pulling them back, they'll be ruthless enough to actually come inside here.
I ran back downstairs, and was about to run outside before I get squished by the building, but the pillar on the ceiling fell down blocking my path.
Stubbornly I glared at the stupid wooden pillar that exploded into a million of pieces, the same it did with the rope.
"Sorry, but you were in my way." I foolishly apologised to the pillar and ran outside.
An orange fence surrounded the whole perimeter of the building and police cars and fire fighters surrounded the burnt down building. The Fire fighters tried putting out the fire, I rolled my eyes at their failed attempt to hose the place down. I did a favour by immediately vanquishing the fire, removing any trace of it ever being there, besides the burnt down mansion.
I looked at everyone who standing on the crispy grass. What I saw broke my heart, Zoey, Kiki, Emmalyn and Lucinda were all sobbing uncontrollably. Katelyn, Cadenza and Kawaii Chan looked like they were going to charge at anyone at any moment, and Laurance, Garroth, Zane, Travis and Dante stood there emotionless. And Lillian? She was nowhere to be seen. She was escaping her crime.
I walked towards them as they didn't even notice me standing right besides them.
"So, when are we hosting the funeral for the house?" I faked sadness looking at the mansion.
Laurance immediately cradled me in his arms as if I was a fragile baby, I honestly never wanted this moment to end. It's not like a everyday a super hot vampire cradles you in his arms like a baby. But as always, all good things must come to an end.
"Sorry to ruin your little lovey dovey moment." My face hardens as I broke from the hug and turned my body around.
Everyone police officer and firefighters were laying lifeless on the ground, he killed them all. Just like Aaron said; he is a ruthless killer and won't hesitate to slice your throats. Ivan, Aaron's dad stood crossing his arms leaning against the tree, with his menacing smiled that could even scare the devil. I stared at him daring him to harm me, I know he wouldn't even lay a finger on me since he needs me for the ritual, but I knew he would harm the others.
As if fate just hates my existence the wind blew past me making me stumble backwards. The wind rushed by me in circles until it finally decided to leave me alone, what also decided to leave me alone was Ivan along with Laurance and the others. Everyone just disappeared leaving me in front of the ashes of a burnt down mansion and the unconscious bodies of officers and firefighters. H-How can Ivan possibly just kidnapped everyone in under a few seconds? I heard that original vampires are very powerful so why couldn't they bind their strength to defeat Ivan in such less time.
I learnt to not worry in these type of situations. Maybe if I call Aaron and Jason they'll be able to help out. I dialled Jason's number on my phone hoping he would pick up, after a few tries of miserably failing, the call just send me to voice mail. Where could they be? I haven't call them in a long while so they probably forgot about me, but vampires do have the best memory there possible could be, or maybe they're just busy.
I decided to focus on the latter not wanting them to actually forget me. My phone was buzzing with a text message that Ivan sent.
''Want to see your friends and your puny, little boyfriend? Find me in the graveyard where your father and grandmother was buried."
I growled in frustration. I swore to never go to that graveyard where my father was murdered on the same exact place he was buried. But I have to do it for my friends and.. Laurance. Using Lauranc's car I drove through the rocky path leading to the graveyard. I cautiously got out of the car as it was night. I know it's a bad idea going to a graveyard in the night, anything can attack you, but I'm doing this for my friends, if Aaron or Jason are not helping me right now, I'm doing this myself.
The rush of cool breeze slivered past me howling in anger. The weather suddenly changed as the loud clash of thunder beats the earth surface with its electrifying bolts. I squealed out of fright when I noticed that I was lost in the mist of the fog. I stubbed my foot on a rock indicating that I just stumbled upon a grave of a poor soul. I jumped in fright as I heard the clapping of wings, ravens circled around me making me paralysed in fear. The thought of running made me immediately go into action, I screamed as the ravens came targeting towards me. I ran for my life that could possibly be taken by a flock of stupid ravens that doesn't seem to like me.
A frightening whimper escaped my throat as my leg slipped down a hole dragging my body down as well. I landed on the hard, rocky floor making me groan in pain and surprise. But that wasn't the only thing I was surprised about, there was an underground passageway leading to who knows where.
Deciding it would best if I went and investigate, I gulped down my fears, they weren't needed right now and it would be bad if I chickened out and ran away, that's not what a friend does. I walked down the stone passageway lit with nothing but the moon light peaking through the hole. As I walked in further the wooden door at the end slightly creaked open, revealing more darkness to come.
I pushed the door open to its full content, and what happened next shocked me that I choked on the air. Everyone. They were in metal jails cells symmetrical to each other, they all looked dead and lifeless when they are just lying on the floor barely breathing, what even shocked me more was that Aaron and Jason were in a jail cell as well, looking ten times more worse, I couldn't do anything but just stand there helplessly, letting the rivers of tears flood the ground.
How could this happen in just a short amount of time? it hasn't even been an hour and everyone is just here looking like they've been defeated by the cruel enemy in a vicious war.
But I didn't feel defeat, I felt angry. And I want my revenge.
