Chapter 15- The Diary.

Aphmau POV

I stared at Kawaii Chan's body resting on the soft white bed in one of the houses. knowing she's a vampire, she'll probably wake up immediately since vampires heal quickly- unless she's not a vampire- I don't know!

I was resting on a wooden chair near the window. I volunteered on looking after Kawaii Chan. I didn't know what to feel about this whole situation, knowing Laurance is on the search for the witch who's body she contaminated (I eavesdropped about some conversation about a witch when I was 'asleep') and that someone out there just doesn't want to hurt me but everyone else.

Kawaii Chan's eyes flew open staring at the white ceiling with blood red eyes. I jumped back in surprise as she looks at me weirdly, her eyes widen returning to their natural colour.

"Oh h-hey Aphmau." She chuckled humourlessly scratching the back of her neck.

I look at her intently. "Are you alright Kawaii Chan?" I stood up.

She clears her throat. "Can you tell Cadenza to give be a drink?...please?" She said not getting out of bed.

What does she mean by 'drink'?

I had this gutted feeling making me think she didn't mean any normal drink, but blood. "Uh...yeah sure." I walked out of the room speedily.

Before walking out I noticed Kawaii Chan's eyes flashed back to a red colour.

Everyone was in the living room including Laurance, and I don't want to encounter him after everything that has happened. I walked towards the kitchen walking as quietly as I could, knowing they have some kind of enhance hearing, they probably could hear my every breathes.

I gagged as I looked into the fridge- which I wish I didn't. blood bags filled every corner of the fridge, how did I not notice this earlier? closing my eyes I quickly grabbed a blood bag, listening to the sounds of the blood pouring inside the cup. I didn't use a glass as I didn't want to see the red ooze stirring around the cup.

I held in my breath as I can already smell the distasteful scent. I walked back inside the room that Kawaii Chan is resting in. I handed her the cup quietly, she thanked me before gulping the whole thing down greedily. I attempted to silently walk out of the room but Kawaii Chan had to call out my name.

"Aphmau, are you okay? You just seem a bit pale," Kawaii Chan touched my shoulder reassuringly, I instantly flinched under her cold touch.

"I-I'm fine. Just feeling a bit, under the weather," I chuckle nervously, feeling sweat trickle down my neck.

Before she could protest I quickly walked out shutting the door behind me, I walked outside considering I had nowhere else to go and that I wanted to know my surroundings better, since we've just arrived.

A thought was glued to my head, I have to talk to the guys sooner or later, but right now I prefer never.

Knowing that there are other 'creatures' out there, who can kill you in one breath is really terrifying. I used to think that life wasn't filled with stress, I believed that you shouldn't worry, instead you should live freely, but now? Now I think that I've only seen a tiny chunk of the world, that the world I've been living in, isn't all that it seemed to be.

I walked through the small village watching the few astray mountains covered in snow, unfortunately we couldn't just make it yet to O'khasis, but in a few days we shall take our leave to a place which I hope is a lot warmer.

Zoey was sitting on a bench looking worried while reading a book on environmental issues, I took a seat next to Zoey causing her to close her book and look at me with a small smile.

" Hey Aphmau."

"Uh, hey Zoey. I got a question," I looked down on my lap fiddling with my fingers.

"Ask away!" She chuckled, I could tell she was trying to lighten the mood.

" Um, I was wondering, is there such things as supernatural creatures?" I said kind of bluntly looking in her blue eyes.

"W-What? Why would you ask that?" A rush of nervousness splashed on her face.

" Curiosity." I said.

" Don't let curiosity get the best of you." She quickly squeaked before standing up. I looked at her in disbelief.

"You Didn't Answer My Question!" I said rather rudely.

"And I Don't Have To Answer Your Damn Question. What is this some childish quiz?" She snapped.

"Zoey are you a Vampire?" I crossed my fingers hoping she is not a bloodsucker.

"What? No! I'm a witch!" Our eyes widen at her sudden spill of the truth.

"You're a Witch? Oh, so another truth has been caught, how much lies am I gonna keep coming across- oh maybe it's that maybe our friendship has been lie. None of this meant anything to you." I didn't leave her any time to say anything before I ran out of there.

'Something was different' I thought kicking the lumps of snow.

I wasn't being some scrawny crybaby, crying over every issue of my life, I realised that I have been crying too much for people who possibly don't even care about me and people who kept such huge secrets from me.

It's time that I step up and not rely on people to save me from every problem that happens in my life. I'm tired of it.

'ScalesWind' the towns name stood crookedly on the wooden sign, wasn't that the town that grandma used to live in, before we moved somewhere sunnier.

Maybe I can find that journal that she always write in, but hides from me. She always took it of me every time I managed to get my hands on it.

I searched the area, everyone walk out of the houses not noticing me. I quickly snuck away crouching down to the extent that I was merging through the snow.

I knew exactly where my grandma's old house was, I can't believe I didn't recognise this place any sooner, I used to practically live here and was friends with everyone when I was a little girl.

The small two room cabin was still standing, buried in snow. I smiled in remembrance as I look back at the memories my grandma and I shared.

I walked inside smelling the faint smell of lavender and marshmallows my grandma used to smell like. I didn't know exactly where she hid the her journal, or I should say diary- but I know that she hid it in the kitchen, where she used to do all sorts of stuff.

I rummaged through the stuff that was surprisingly still here; which lead me thinking where possibly she could've hid the medium sized diary.

She really loves cookies, like she had a huge massive obsession with them, but then again she equally loved to play the piano.

I clicked my fingers in succession, every time she played the piano, she always settled her diary under the chair keeping it hidden.

I ran to the living area which was attached to the kitchen, I flipped over the chair gently enough not to make too much noise, I saw the book strapped against the bottom of the chair, I smiled pulling out of the book. The Diary look old but still as young as day, the leather had flower prints engraved detailedly on it.

My grandma told me this Diary gave her the solution to all the problems she had in life, she went through this almost every single day, and when she came back from working, she always returns with a huge smile on her face, which always made me happy knowing she's happy herself.

My grandma said, if anything happened to her or she wasn't alive to see the day I was all grown and happy; she'll past down this Diary to me, if I was in need of any help.

And right now? I need all the help I could get.
