35.

The wheels screeched on the road asphalt—Jin was spinning the steering frequently, trying to avoid the trail of bullets. This maneuver still managed to keep the tires alive, but the chassis of the Land Rover was pierced with thousands of bullets already. The bullets still didn't hit any of the passengers penetrating the walls all because of just pure luck.

"Don't sit quietly, Arya!" shouted Jin looking to the side, "fire back!"

Arya shook her head, unbuckled her seatbelt, and turned around pulling out her pistol. Eva had already laid down in her seat, she stretched her hand over the girl, and through the gap in the broken windshield behind, she started shooting.

One of Ford's windows appeared to be cracked, but none of the occupants were injured. Their fury increased in retaliatory fire and they continued to fire twice as much as before.

Arya's magazine was empty, she lowered her body behind the seat and cursed, ''shit! I'm out of ammunition, Jin!"

Jin's face also turned dark when he reached for his jacket pocket.
There was only one clip. Handing it to Arya, he said, "this is our last clip."

"Nothing can be done with this, Jin. I don't see any use in spending the last bullets on them. We can't give a scratch to them anyway!".

"What!!" Eva groaned from the back seat. "You are out of ammunition?"

Looking at the fuel gauge, Jin bit his lips. The indicator was turning rapidly to the left, "our fuel line also got hit." He calmly delivered the bad news.

"Sweet!" Arya's face seemed like someone fed her a spoonful of bitter medicine, "now what?"

Jin thought quickly. Arya only had three Bottle-bombs remaining.

He said to take them out.

"What is the benefit? Throwing these at them will do no good. They can just get past them."

"If the plan works, they won't be able to evade it."

"What's the plan?"

Jin explained.

"That's a good idea," Arya smiled hearing his plan, "and that's why I love you this much!".

"Take two bombs," said Jin, "shorten the fuse and give me one, you keep the other."

Arya did as instructed. Jin took the bomb in his hand and kept the car steady. It was now running in a straight line. He wanted to get the enemy to get into the position he likes.

His assumption proved to be correct. Seeing the Land Rover was going straight, the Ford duo went parallel to the rear corners, picking up speed, trying to come alongside so that a sure shot from the side can burst the tires.

Jin looked at Arya and nodded. With the lighter, Arya set the fuses on fire. Jin held the bomb and said, "hold on!"

He slammed on the brakes immediately. The Land Rover stopped, the wheels screeched on the road, stopping the car.

It was so sudden that the two Fords could not keep pace, they quickly passed their Land Rover.

The two NIS agents moved as the opponent's car's open windows were just passing them and gently dropped the bombs. They fell straight inside the two SUVs. The incident was so unexpected that the enemy had no way of resisting it. The length of the fuses was short and that's why they did not get time to react. They went straight forward with the bombs in their cars.

The explosion occurred twenty yards from the Land Rover. Two small fireballs leaped up inside the Fords—the riders can't be alive there. Not after this explosion.

Arya clapped her hands after seeing the scene. Jin's face had a cruel smile on it.

"Who are you guys—tell me?" asked Eva in a surprised voice.
"Arya! I never imagined you to be such a dangerous person!"

"We are not dangerous people, Eva;  they are," Arya pointed her finger forward and showed the cars on fire, "we are good people...just defending ourselves, nothing more."

"But how is it possible for you?
Where did you learn to fight like this?"

"That can be discussed later," Jin interfered, "our problems are not over yet. The team from the villa will come at any moment."

"It is not possible to evade them with this car, Jin. It is ruined," said Arya, glancing at the empty street.
"I don't see any other car that we can capture and run away from."

"It won't do any good. I see those guys as desperate, It doesn't look like they are going to back down even if we have a new car."

"Then?"

"We have to reach a public place.
If you blend in with crowded people, it will be easy to escape. Even if they see you, they will not dare to attack openly in front of that much public."

"Yeah, right."

Jin turned to Eva, "the rate at which  the fuel is leaking, I can drive the car for fifteen minutes at best. Is there any public place that we can reach within this time?"

Eva thought a little. Then she said, "yes, the railway station...Bijlmer.
The arena is very close to here. There is a bypass road ahead, take it.
It is possible to reach within ten to twelve minutes."

"Good," said Jin. He started the small Land Rover past the burning Fords gearing up.

Bulldog saw the fire from a distance.  When the car stopped beside those cars, his jaw dropped.

"Are these...are these..."

"Yes, sir," said the assault team leader from the side, "these are our cars.
We lost four more people."

Bulldog was speechless. For a moment he doubted if Kim Seokjin was an actual human being or something else. How did he survive after being attacked so many times? While planning the attack, he did not see a single defect in it. It seemed like this time that man will not have a chance against them. He would die helplessly. But the reality was telling otherwise. That man didn't die, instead, he killed thirteen of his men. So far. Five people in the kitchen, two on the second floor, two more in the cordon around the house and four from the backup team's cars...He was just racking up scores like champion players.

Bulldog's manpower has almost been reduced by half. An unconscious fear
arose in the mind of the CIA officer - if he does not retreat, he'd also have to count his last days from now on probably.

The leader of the assault team must be thinking the same thing. In a low voice, he said, "umm...sir. It probably wouldn't be good to move on without calling in a few more people..."

Bulldog gasped and looked at his companion with mad eyes.
He got up and yelled, "what did you say? If you are so afraid, then sit down and do house chores instead!"

"Why are you angry, sir? You are seeing the situation with your own eyes. The whole team couldn't even touch his hair. And now the people are reduced by half..."

"Shut up!" Snapped Bulldog, "assholes, a bunch of idiots you have here! You've ruined the operation and now you dare show me excuses!"

"Where did we ruin it again? We worked just as you briefed, sir!"

"Warner, don't talk back on me!" Bulldog threatened, "I want Seokjin and his companions dead by tonight. If you can't, I will deal with every one of you personally."

The face of the team leader became tense, "yes, sir. Now, what do you want me to do??"

"Contact local law enforcement. Find out where did the broken Land-Rover go?!"

Bijlmer Railway Station.

The group of three left the car on the side of the road a mile away and entered the station after getting the tickets. They liked the place, there were a lot of people inside, so it won't be difficult to blend in. Apart from that the security was also very tight, there were police guards with metal detectors at the entrance to the station.

No one can enter here with any weapons.

Reaching the platform, Jin looked around a bit, thinking about what to do next. He didn't want to spend too much time here, he wants to move from here as soon as possible.
He heard that the trains of metro service stop there, so he decided to get on one.
Eva was told to buy the tickets.

Ten minutes later, the young secretary came back and said,
there is no local train at that moment.  One will come soon but after half an hour. She asked if she should buy the tickets for that one.

"No, waiting for half an hour is risky," said Jin, "isn't there any train that will leave right away?"

"Yes, that one," Eva pointed.

A shiny train was waiting beside the platform. The shape was strange, the head was like a sharp spear as if it was a racing car. The compartments were white and maroon.
The name was spelled out in glittering letters on the body, "Thalys."

"It is a high-speed train, not carrying domestic passengers," said Eva, "If  we get on it, we have to get off after reaching either Paris or Brussels."

Jin didn't say anything, he moved towards the train with interest. He has heard about the high-speed train and even seen it in pictures, but he has not yet ridden on it.

These are called Train-a-Grand-Vite or TGV for short.
This is one of the wonders of land vehicles.

TGV—the epitome of modern transportation. Even if they operate on the ground, these can easily compete with any passenger aircraft.

The main feature of a high-speed train is its fast speed. Even the one that moves the slowest can reach the speed of two hundred kilometers per hour.

A Japanese TGV holds the speed record for the Guinness book of records for a speed of a maximum of 574 km per hour. This speed can't be achieved on the normal rail track.

That's why TGV's tracks are different. The tracks are made by magnetic plates on which the cabins of the TGV float due to opposite magnetic effects.
As there is no frictional barrier between the rails, it can run
effortlessly at high speed. TGV technology is improving day by day.  Everything manual or mechanical has been replaced with computers these days. TGV is now a very popular communication medium.

Many Europeans travel by TGV these days, as they are operated internationally.

Jin asked while looking at the train in fascination.
"Will it go straight from here to Paris?"

"No," said Eva, "there is a stop at Amsterdam-Central perhaps. But they will not give a ticket up to there, if you want to get on, you have to buy an international ticket."

"No problem," turned Jin, "let's book some then."

"You'll spend a thousand euros to go to a place where you can go just to spend twelve euros?"
Eva's mouth was agape in surprise.

Jin smiled, "no one would imagine that, right? That's exactly what we
want!"

He proceeded towards the ticket counter with his two companions. He gave his credit card to Eva to buy tickets, and Arya and he stood a little behind.

Suddenly Arya became agitated, grabbing Jin's hand and beckoning with her eyes she indicated the entrance of the station.

A few rough-looking men entered the station.

They must have found that Land Rover. The railway station was the only public place nearby. They probably understood their plans. These people had no weapons in their hands, still, the presence of firearms hidden behind their coats was clear.
Jin could recognize one's face- he saw that man in the villa.

"God!" Arya said in surprise, "how did they entered with weapons? Aren't they supposed to be caught in the metal detector?!"

The answer came in no time. With a few others with him, Douglas Bullock appeared on stage.

They must have shown their ID at the gate, that's why the guards let them enter with their weapons.

Once inside, the head of the CIA officers began to instruct his companions.

The people shook their heads and spread throughout the station.

Arta froze at the scene.
stuttering, she said, "t...these are all Bulldog's people, Jin!"

Jin also frowned. Things didn't quite match. Why would Bulldog try to kill them in Duivendescht? And he made quite a big scene there with that many men too. Dr. Buren was supposed to be his priority and to arrest an innocent scientist, a full-scale assault mission isn't necessary. They can take precaution thinking Jin and his team was with the scientist, but attacking like that wasn't necessary at all. Because Elisa was also likely to die in the attack.

But thinking in one direction answers all his questions. Bulldog knew that Jin and Arya were alone there. He also knew that Dr. Buren wasn't there either.
That is why he was able to attack safely. But thinking like that, a new question comes to mind. Why would Bulldog be so desperate to kill them without trying to find the last Uno? No, he couldn't understand at all!

Jin looked at the clock beside the display board with time table showing there. There are still five minutes left for Thalys TGV to leave the station. The way Bulldog's people were looking for them, they'll surely get caught while getting on the TGV. After thinking, he saw only one way.

Jin said, "I am going to make a diversion, you and Eva get on the train meanwhile."

"You?"

Jin smiled softly, "don't worry about me, I will come right away. But first I have to divert them. Otherwise, you won't be able to board the train either."

Jin started walking leaving Arya behind, he was moving taking cover behind the passengers of the station.
He wandered far and wide, but only for two minutes. After two minutes, he reached the target. There was Bulldog, standing alone on one side of the entrance of the station.

Jin turned and went behind him.
he went straight in front and stopped with his chest against his back.

Startled, Bulldog tried to turn around but stopped after feeling something pressed against his kidney. It was a pen, but Bulldog has no way of knowing it.

"Don't move, I'll shoot you!" Jin said threateningly.

Bulldog believed the words, he stood quietly there. Jin grabbed and took away the automatic pistol from his shoulder holster from behind. He removed the pen and pressed it on the Bulldog's back.

"You didn't have a weapon earlier, did you?" Bulldog wanted to whip himself for getting fooled this easily.

"Would I hold it on its owner's back if I had one?" Jin said sarcastically, "never mind, come with me. Be careful, don't try to do anything. I don't want to kill you with your own pistol."

Bulldog started walking after getting a mild poke of his pistol on his back.
