CHAPTER THREE
A modern mansion, 20 miles away...
"Mhm... You say, Aoba Johsai is ready to act? Well, I think this is my choice to make, Iwa-chan..." Oikawa smirked as he hung up. He put on his white coat and dusted off his pants.
"That little shrimp was seriously kidnapped..." He stood up and stroke his chin. "Chibi-chan is kidnapped."
Suddenly, the grand king started to laugh hysterically. With his one hand, he held his belly, with the other his face. As sudden as he started to laugh, as sudden it died down. A serious face was hidden behind the hand and his eyes glimmered intimidating.
"This is a really bad habit of yours, Oikawa-sama..." A curly haired boy with a long metal baton stepped outside the shadow, leaning against it, and yawning languidly.
"Ah, Matsu-chan, you are already back?" Oikawa smirked slightly, putting on his leather gloves.
"Yea, wasn't really a biggie." He shrugged it off. Suddenly, a quiet snicker echoed through the room. A pink haired man climbed elegantly on Matsukawa's back, wrapping his arms around his neck. Though his appearance was graceful, his voice was hoarse and dark.
"Hey, since that orange is gone, shouldn't we plan an attack against Suga? He will never be this vulnerable." He said as he stroked his beloved curly hair.
Oikawa's smirk vanished, he folded his hands behind his back and went to the giant window across the room. He looked outside, a grand overview of the streets of Tokyo. He squinted his eyes, not looking at his subordinates while speaking.
"Well, you are right, Suga-chan will never be this vulnerable. But never underestimate him. What was our mistake, why did we become second best?"
"We underestimated him." The couple said in union.
"We thought he would be defenceless, with his father gone-" Matsukawa added.
"- But we were overcome by his sheer strength." Hanamaki concluded.
Oikawa chuckled, then immediately became serious. "Yes. But was it really him? No. He was just lucky, we fought him in Russia, the perfect environment for an ice gift. Our mistake was, underestimating his loyal people."
In this very moment, Oikawa turned around and looked at his subordinates. His eyes gleamed dangerously turquoise.
"Neko-chan, whose name we still do not know is crazily intelligent with technology and tactics, his quiet and unobtrusive type was lethal for us. Then Akaashi, the last of his kind, a dangerous sorcerer. How could we know that behind that expressionless face was such a passionate and loyal murder machine?" Oikawa became louder, his hands clenched in fists.
"And then this fucking sniper and metal gifted, Atsumu, who managed to singlehandedly kill at least half of our men. And the list still goes on, we also have Noya-"
The rage of the grand king was interrupted, by a hard shot of water against his forehead. He fell on his back; his eyes went back to normal and he rubbed his forehead in pain. "Oi, Trashykawa, shut your ugly mouth. Just hanging up on me, then yelling through the whole building and screaming at your friends." Iwaizumi, an attractive young man with slightly tanned skin, strong and buffy upper arms, black spiky hair and a shark tooth necklace, stood in front of the grand king, crossing his arms in front of his bare chest, looking angrily down at him.
"I-Iwa-chan, why did you hit me?" He sighed and started to pout. Iwaizumi's eye started to twitch annoyed. He packed Oikawa's collar and pulled him on his feet. "You stupid piece of shit, you should really listen to people!" Now Iwaizumi was the one who yelled and already held his fist in the air.
Makki and Mattsun looked at each other and nodded.
"Should we leave them alone?"
"Agreed." Were their thoughts. Makki jumped off his back and they both walked outside the room.
Before Iwaizumi could hit Oikawa, he snapped out of his thoughts by the slam of the door. He let Oikawa go and sat on the table.
"I am just saying, don't have such emotional outbreaks. Don't be like... him." Iwaizumi took an apple, which laid in a bowl on the table. He bit inside, turning his back towards Oikawa.
The grand king's gaze became darker, a cold aura surrounded him. He put his hands on his friend's shoulder and leaned towards his ear. His smile was distorted and his eyes gleamed turquoise.
"Iwa-chan... I hope you are not talking about my former pupil, Tobio-chan, who betrayed me by leaving with that weird professor. I really really really-" He pierced his fingernails in his friend's shoulder. "- hope you meant the accident in Russia, where we just lost against a little boy, who cried for his daddy." His breath was hot against Iwaizumi's ear, he pressed his lips together.
"Don't pee your pants and relax. I hate it when you're like that." Was his simple response and again, he bit into his apple. Oikawa's nails grew back to normal and he kissed every single mark he left on Iwaizumi's skin.
"I'm sorry, Iwa-chan. You know I love you right?" The grand king smirked brightly, his eyes showing no emotions.
"Fuck you and shut up." The Amazonian boy stood up and turned around to face his childhood friend. He did not see him, but a cold monster. However, he was used to it, since his friend became the second most dangerous person in all of Asia.
The brunette grabbed his head and pressed his lips against Iwaizumi's. He slammed him against the wall, pressing his knee between his legs.
"I said, I love you Iwa-chan, you know that, right?" He was panting erected. Iwaizumi's cheeks flushed brightly red, his breath became heavier as Oikawa continued his mockery by sucking on his skin, leaving dark marks on his bare chest.
"Oi, don't get cocky, Shittykawa. I know that you love me. Just stop hat already." He mumbled as he pushed his friend's head away. Oikawa smirked satisfied, kissing the black haired's forehead.
"Good boy..." The grand king calmed down; his turquoise gleaming eyes disappeared. He let go of him and smiled.
"Well, now that this is settled, we need to plan our next moves, don't we?" He acted as if nothing had happened just few moments ago. Iwaizumi put two wide, leather bands over his chest, which resembled an 'X', while trying to control his breath.
"Yes, we should call the council." Oikawa sighed, looking out the window again. "Mhm... Will the council really be necessary? I mean, everyone is here. You, Mattsun, Yahaba and me. Let's just meet up here. Like the old times."
Iwaizumi shook his head an crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"You have to inform your uncle. And you can't get rid of him, the council needs to be balanced. You know that."
Oikawa sighed and slightly bobbed his head. "How can I forget? But, with Makki we could fill the position quickly..." He mumbled as he turned around, facing his friend again.
"Oi, don't even think about it. You would be in great shit if you kill your uncle. He is a piece of ass, but still respected in the underworld. He also has a ton of connections, which could become a big problem. Now let's call the council."
"Mhm... Yes indeed, the leading family Karasuno, with the Koushi-Clan is weakened. This could be essential for Aoba Johsai to take over. We should be the Dragon Head." Hashio Tooru, the grand king's uncle sat on a wooden throne, looking down on the table, where Iwaizumi, representative of Naturals, Matsukawa, representative of Hybrids, Yahaba, representative of Humans and Oikawa, representative of Gifted sat.
Hashio scrunched his nose when his nephew raised his hand.
"Speak, imbecile."
The grand king did not react to his uncle's insult. He straightened his white vest and turquoise shirt.
"Thank you, honourable uncle, Tooru-sama. If I may say, I think we should not act improvident, since we had already lost against Sugawara in the past without his little son. It is important to weaken him from within. And that, in small steps, by, for example, attacking several of his smuggle spots or cutting his arms supply. I believe this is way more effective." Oikawa sat down and waited for his uncle's response.
"Mhm, I don't like this boring half-assing. We have way more capable men. What are the others' opinions?"
Matsukawa put his feet on the table and rocked his chair back and forth. "Well, just talkin' from experience here, the Koushi's have a ton of great fighters. Yes, we may have more men, but this is nothing against those few powerful people he has. Sugawara is weakened, but not his family."
Iwaizumi nodded in agreement and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "The Naturals fear that sorcerer, Humans have no power over him, we could only use the Hybrids and Gifted, but this would weaken over own defence." The black haired added. Yahaba huffed angrily. "I know Humans do not play a major role here, but our technology and Qi control are by far the best. Kunimi and Kindaichi, for example, are a match for Neko." Oikawa chuckled.
"Indeed, our Human division is quit more profitable than we originally thought. However, still no excuse or argument for war. Our mistake was to underestimate him."
"Yes, but we are prepared now, we have information we hadn't had before!" Yahaba countered.
"Dude, I don't wanna repeat myself, but that sorcerer is like really fucking strong. And he is extra cautious now, since Suga is weakened." Matsukawa picked his ear.
"Our advantage could be the sewer; we use it way more than Yakuza does, and I could do more damage there." Iwaizumi shrugged his shoulders.
"But this would mean first aggression and we sh-"
Hashio slammed his fist against the armrest of his throne. "All of you, shut up." It immediately went dead silent. "I don't support any of your ideas. We need to make a fucking move, we all agree on that, yes?" He looked around and everyone nodded slightly. Mattsun even took his feet off the table and sat normally. "My only wish is to kill Sugawara and his father. I don't give a single fuck what it takes to achieve this. We will send scouts; they should observe every single movement of that sorcerer. The moment he is distracted, Aoba Johsai will attack. End of discussion, the council is over. Oi, Oikawa, I want to talk to you, privately." And with those words ever one left, except for Oikawa and his uncle.
Hashio stepped towards his nephew and took his face in his grand hands.
"You look just like your mother, you know that?" He smirked and stroke his cheeks. Oikawa tilted his head slightly and put his hands on his uncle's wrists. "You say that every time, it gets boring. Why did you want to talk to me?" His voice was emotionless, likewise his eyes. "Do I need a reason to talk to my nephew?" His smirk became dirtier. He let go of his face, his hands wandered around Oikawa's body. The grand king sighed deeply and slapped his hands away. "Uncle, your attraction for me should be over by now, I reached puberty, shouldn't be your type anymore, right?" Though he sounded confident, his hands trembled, which is why he clenched them into fists. Whenever he was with his uncle, disgust and pure hatred swallowed him. He had to escape as quickly as possible, or else things would happen, he would regret. "Oi, don't talk to me like that, you little shit!" Hashio smacked Oikawa's face as hard as he could. The grand king's cheek immediately showed a dark red handprint. His lip bled a little. "I am sorry uncle..." He mumbled, turned around and stepped outside.
Iwaizumi was waiting next door. He joined Oikawa. "Is everything alright? Did he-" The grand king shook his head. "We need to stop this sick bastard. He will kill us all with his fucking suggestions."
The traditional mansion, 100 miles
"So, we all agree on one thing: We will pay Oikawa a visit, right? He is the only one with information, which can help us here." Akaashi shook his head energetically. "No. No, I cannot allow this. He tried to kill you several times and he still wants to take over as Dragon Head. I am also certain he knows about the kidnapping; he will act, and therefore we cannot visit him." Sugawara rubbed his chin and sighed.
"I know, Akaashi, but Hinata is our highest priority. No matter what it takes. Oikawa may have plans to kill me and take over business, however, he is way too intelligent and cautious to just attack me during a meeting. My worries are that our little cops will be detected. Especially officer Sawamura looks like a detective from a picture book. We already have your badges, please leave your weapons here too. And your jackets, no one wears these anymore, except for sad middle-aged men." Sugawara chuckled. "Hey, I am only 33!" Bokuto started to pout, since he was the youngest and neither sad. "Oi, shut up, you constantly bring your age up." Kuroo answered annoyed. Daichi's eye flinched. "Alright, alright. That's a deal. Can we please just start."
Sugawara sat in a limousine, he was wearing a white shirt and grey vest, Akaashi sat in front of him, he polished his katana. Bokuto and Kuroo sat each next to Sugawara and Daichi was driving. "Oi, why am I the driver again?" Daichi sighed irritated and accelerated the vehicle. "Well, like we said earlier, you are a born detective. Your friends are much taller and not as stiff, they fit perfectly as my bodyguards." Kuroo laughed and held his belly. "He's too stiff" He giggled.
Before Daichi could smack the soul out of Kuroo, the Dragon Head continued. "Akaashi, since they know you, you will stay here and wait, alright?" The black haired did not like the idea, leaving Suga alone with those two idiots, but he had no choice but to nod in agreement.
"However, if you take longer than an hour, I will join the meeting." He mumbled and looked at his reflection in the katana. Sugawara smiled. He appreciated his friend's concern. Daichi parked in front of the silver-blue shimmering gate: Aoba Johsai.
The grey haired stretched his back and put on his black leather gloves. Kuroo and Bokuto stood next to him, Bokuto even put on sunglasses. Both wore a serious look.
"How do I look bro?" The owl asked. "Cool, hot and serious, in that order." They both nodded and escorted Sugawara towards the gate, who tried to ignore their rambling. "What do we do now? I could break through the gate?" Bokuto suggested. "Mhm... Yeah, that could work. We could also sneak in." Kuroo added and rubbed his chin. The Dragon Head shook his head. "What the fuck? No. We don't want to rob him. We just press the god damn bell." The grey haired did as he said and ringed the bell. A bored voice sounded through the speaker.
"Yo, who's there?"
"It's Koushi. I want to talk to Oikawa." It went silent for a moment, then the gates opened. A young man with bushy eyebrows jogged towards the trio.
"Oi, it's really you. Weird. What's the last time we saw each other?" Matsukawa gestured them to follow him. "I think in the Second Uprising. You really scared Hinata that day." The grey haired chuckled. "Mhm... Ye, I remember. Man, that's a long time, geez." Sugawara liked the fact about Matsukawa that he never talked much and the best thing: He never asked a lot of questions. They entered the cube-like building and came to a stand in front of a grand alabaster glass door.
"Please wait here, Iwaizumi or Oikawa will come. Don't know to be honest." He shrugged and went through a side door. Bokuto looked around in excitement, his eyes gleamed of joy. "Man, I'm so lucky, not only could we see the house of the Dragon Head, but also the second most scary underground boss, the grand king! So cool." The owl smirked brightly and Kuroo snickered. Sugawara smacked their heads and sighed irritated. "I understand why Daichi is already done with you two. Jesus, just shut up for two seconds." Right after the lecture, the door opened, and the grand king stood in front of them. His arms as open as the door. "The legendary Dragon Head! I cannot believe it." Oikawa laughed and took Sugawara's hands, who returned the gesture, while smiling. "Trying to poison me during the handshake? Not bad." The grey haired smirked, squinting his eyes a little. Oikawa chuckled and raised his arms. His gloves had little purple needles. Bokuto widened his eyes shocked. "That was attempted murder!" Kuroo said, putting his hand on his weapon. "Guys calm down. This is just a hearty welcoming from my friend and enemy, Oikawa." Sugawara chuckled and showed them his own gloves. There was no prick nor hole to be seen. "I'm sorry Oikawa, they are new." The grand king shook his head. "Tis alright. Come in my office." They all went inside. The brown haired sat down on his chair, behind his desk. Next to him stood Iwaizumi. Sugawara sat in front of the grand king. Bokuto's and Iwaizumi's eyes met. They both widened their eyes and simultaneously crossed their arms in front of their chest to present their buffy arms.
"So, tell me. What brings you here? Did you miss my beautiful face?" Oikawa smiled mischievous and posed a little. Iwaizumi snapped out of his quiet battle with Bokuto and smacked the brunet's head. "Oi, Trashykawa, take this fucking serious." He hissed and Oikawa rubbed his head. "Iwa-chan, so mean..." He mumbled and sighed. "Well, I'll take it serious when our beloved Dragon Head tells me, why his new driver is a cop and Akaashi had to hide in the limousine." The light atmosphere suddenly shifted. Oikawa's smirk was dark and spiteful. Sugawara squinted his eyes slightly. He did not smile anymore and folded his hands. "Okay, jokes aside. You probably know that my s- Hinata was kidnapped. I cannot believe it that I'm doing this. But I need a favour to ask you." Before Sugawara could continue, the grand king raised his hands. "I am not the 'doing-you-a-favour' type of guy. I would rather prefer a deal, alright? Because I too could need a little help from you." He folded his hands and rested his chin on them. Sugawara sighed, but nodded. "Alright, I want you to give me all your information on a certain doctor." The Dragon Head snapped his fingers and Kuroo gave him the pictures.
Oikawa widened his eyes shortly, then his gaze became dark. He did not look at the pictures a second time. "Prof. Dr. Tendo Satori, lecturer and scientist. He supplied the underground with medicine and technology. He stayed neutral during the uprisings and wars. He gave everyone treatment, no matter what species and had a closer relationship to us. I'm quite sure you knew that much too. Let's say, half of the information we know, I'll give you now. The other half after you finish my request." He stretched out his hand. Sugawara did not even hesitate. He would do everything in his power, which might help him find Hinata. He shook Oikawa's hand.
"Perfect." The grand king smirked, crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back. Oikawa gestured Iwaizumi to bring him his HoloTab. He pressed his thumb on it and several blue shimmering pictures appeared in front of him. The pictures showed an empty laboratory with several man-sized test tubes and unknown machines and a page of an ancient book.
"Well, Tendo was not just a doctor. He was also a scientist, who did some research on all species. He tried to turn gifts into electricity to be able to generate way more power, than our power stations are capable to generate on Earth. He also believed in a prophecy, where one chosen will redeem all the damned, become the saviour of the broken and beaten. Well, to be honest, I don't really believe in that prophecy, it's weird that such a rational guy like Tendo believes in it. Ah, one more thing, he also was one of the scientists in the Comet Incident."
Sugawara widened his eyes. He knew about that prophecy; it was also commonly known as the Phoenix. He also knew about the incident, however just vaguely.
Sugawara snapped out of his thoughts when the holographic pictures disappeared. "Now is my turn, right?" The Dragon Head sighed and rubbed his temples. He still had to process the information he got.
"Yes indeed. Well, you probably remember, that I am not exactly the head of Aoba Johsai. It is my uncle."
"Hashio Tooru." Sugawara did remember the bloodthirsty man, who even killed pregnant women and children.
"Right. Let's just say, we do not agree anymore. I want you to... dispose of him. I cannot do it, but you could have a motive... Or just use the help of your cops." Oikawa smirked brightly and Iwaizumi looked away.
Back in the laboratory
The black haired panted, likewise the grey haired. They both looked each other in their eyes, strengthening their grip around their weapon.
"Let's stop here. Or I will kill you." Kageyama said in a low voice, putting his sais on his back. Osamu squinted his eyes. Small throwing knives arose from his skin. "Do you really think I listen to you? You could have killed my brother, and that is my privilege only." He threw them towards Kageyama, who dodged them easily. They just merely missed the little sleeping orange on the bunk bed.
"Oi, fucking watch where you throw them." Kageyama took his sais and attacked Osamu by throwing one of them towards him and sliding through his legs. He tried to make him lose his balance by the chain, which connect the sais. However, Osamu was quicker and jumped elegantly in a salto behind Kageyama. He wanted to ram his knife in his shoulders but Kageyama blocked it with the short protruding peaks of his sais. They had a hand to hand combat fight, until their weapons clashed together. "You know, I only need to use my gift and you will lose." Osamu did not change his expression and strengthened his grip, managing to make Kageyama step back. "Don't get so full of yourself. Your power has more weaknesses you can imagine." Kageyama's eye flinched angril
y. "You piece of shit!" He wanted to ram his fist, which was covered in black mist, into Osamu's face but was stopped by a shrill voice.
"Hey, stop you two!" Hinata jumped off his bed and stepped between them. "Are you crazy? Don't you work for the same organisation?" The little orange sighed and pushed them back. The two boys lowered their weapons. "Oi, boke, go to fucking sleep. You know shit about us." He hissed. The grey haired sighed and dissolved his weapons. "I got bored. I'm going to my room." Before Osamu disappeared behind the corner of the long corridor, he turned around one last time. "If you encounter my brother again, you inform me. If not, I will not stop and fucking slice your throat." With these words, he left.
Kageyama was not impressed, but the little orange trembled. "Jesus he is sooooo scary." Hinata sighed and shook his head.
"Shut up. Why did you stop us? It's non of your business." Kageyama but his sais away, stroking his arm. No bruise. "Well, it's bad to hurt others! Especially, if you are part of the same group!" Hinata pouted and crossed his arms.
"Are you fucking serious? Aren't you supposed to be Yakuza?" Kageyama snickered, which angered the little orange.
"Stop! I am one!" He clenched his small hands into fists. "Did you ever kill someone, huh? Did you ever ram your sword into the belly of an enemy? Did you ever had to shoot your closest ally; did you ever betray someone? Do drugs? Or anything Yakuza-related at all?" Kageyama stepped with each question closer, until Hinata's back felt the wall behind him. He gulped and looked away. "N-No, but... I... Sugawara-san said, w-when I'm 19, he will t-teach my Jiu Jitsu! and I-I can join a mission..." He mumbled and fidgeted with his fingers. Kageyama laughed, but it was dry and spiteful. "Pff, this fits perfectly, you know that Jiu Jitsu can be translated in gentle art? Your beloved yakuza-father only wanted to teach you how to defend yourself, but not taking someone out. You would have never been on serious missions, because you are a weak baby, who has to be protected and never fought for someone or something!" Kageyama's voice was a mere hissing. Hinata put his hands on his ears. "No! I-I can protect the people imp-"
"Yeah? But why are you here? Because you were a weak idiot! Because of you, your bodyguards died! Because of your own weakness!" Hinata started to scream. "NO!" Suddenly, a strong flame shot from Hinata's body. Kageyama widened his eyes in shock, he quickly jumped back and formed a shield with his shadow.
This is what Tendo-sama meant... This shrimp is fucking strong, yet he cannot do shit with it.
