Phobia Definition: Fear of bees

The sun shone brightly as I walked outside, squinting my eyes to see. I had decided to get some vitamin D and actually go out today. I could be brave when I needed to. Besides, I didn't see any bugs around today. It would be a nice time to sit on the porch and chill with a cup of tea. I checked the perimeter and slowly sat down at the table, a rare smile forming on my face as I blissfully observed the warm outdoors. I took a sip of my tea and leaned back in my chair, intending to relax. My eye caught something in the corner and I swiveled my head to see what it was.

Nothing.

I shrugged and went back to my tea. It was actually a nice day. I wonder why I don't come outside as much. It was so nice and peaceful.

Something caught my eye again and I turned to look over in the direction once more. I didn't see anything by the bush, but after a second, I spotted a flying yellow dot reappear and disappear into it. I felt my muscles in my neck and legs tense up as the bee reappeared and began to mockingly hover over the bush.

You stay right there! Don't you dare come over here!

A tense moment passed as I stared the bee down. He hovered over the bush, dove around the porch bench, and then disappeared out of sight. I blew out a sigh of relief and carefully leaned back into my chair. I began to reach out for my tea when the yellow fuzzball of death zoomed in front of my face and began to fly around my cup. I let out a scream, literally jumped out of my chair, and ran into the house, slamming the door behind me. That thing was not following me into the house! I pressed my face against the glass, watching him hover around the cup and then fly away near another bush.

He was mocking me. I know he was.

I glanced back around, looking for any sign of him, before I squeezed the door open, ran outside and grabbed my cup, and darted back into the house. I slammed the door shut and took a deep breath before taking another sip of tea. I then turned around and walked into my sitting room. I think I'll be safer in there.
