Mistletoe Memories (Phinbella)

A/N: Merry Christmas guys! Haven't updated in forever, so I thought I'd do a little one-shot in the spirit of the holidays.

Phineas' POV

Ferb and I had a pretty good day at Danville High. It was the day before break and the teachers had pretty much given up on actual teaching. Sure, it was a little difficult to not to have a chance to talk about new ideas with Mr. Paul, my engineering teacher (he was checked out today, playing a Christmas movie for the whole period) but at least I got some extra sketching time. Usually, I'd be working on a new invention design, but today I was just doing some absent minded doodles, not really paying attention to where my hand was even going.

After school I went to Ferb and my desk, opened up my journal book, and flipped to a new page. Ferb was standing next to me and looked at me intensely.

"What?" I said aloud, but I was pretty sure of what he meant. I scratched the corners of my brain trying to figure out what I had drawn that day that was sparking his curiosity. It came down to having to look page by page, lots of random things filled them, but then I got to the one that he probably meant.

I thought back to engineering class. I didn't really even look at my absent minded creation, just watching that holiday film, and as my brain was occupied, my hand did it's own thing. The paper was unlike the others that I meticulously chart and label, having free handed lines, and... people... there were two of them, one obviously me; the triangle shaped head that I have is always recognizable. Never really felt exactly self conscious about it. Okay maybe a little, but the point was one was me, and the other had a bow on their head. Not the Christmas type, but the original kind, the kind that Isabella wears. The two sketched people were under a-

"Mistletoe, excellent choice." Ferb smirked. My face heated up, and I scowled a bit.

"That's not how I feel about Izzy! I wasn't even paying attention to my drawing!" I protested, feeling dumb as soon as I said it, because my words only incriminated more. "I don't wanna talk about this..." I grumbled, storming downstairs, mumbling incoherently, even to my own knowledge. I plopped down on a kitchen stool in anger, but I looked next to me and did a double take, seeing the very girl that I had sketched.

"Phineas, are you okay?" Isabella turned to me concerned.

"Izzy! Yah! I'm okay! What are you doing here?!"

"I always come after school? Your mom had made some pie and told me to wait wile she went to the other fridge to get some. Still, why were you upset? You can tell me anything you know." She leaned in, and I was a little uncomfortable with that, given the whole thing that happened in me and Ferb's room. I looked from side to side, anywhere but in her eyes, and my mine locked in on something hanging above us.... Mistletoe.

I could see Ferb in the other room with his thumbs up. "Note to self, tackle Ferb later..." I whispered in annoyance as I looked again at the branch above.

"What?" Isabella said. "Are you guys figh- What are you even staring at?" I looked back, but she followed my previous stare, and saw what had grabbed my attention.

"You don't have to- ah, it's a stupid tradition, I mean... Do you want to?" The last part was meek and squeaky. Her eyes darted from right at my own, to the mistletoe, and back again.

"Yah, I- I thought s-" the last part was broken off by a short peck on my lips. If my face was red before, it must've turned the color of my Santa hat. I would never forget that mistletoe memory...
