Didn't Realize (Ferbnessa)
A/N: I was recently inspired by a new reader commenting on here, because before, I was getting concerned that the PnF fandom was fading, especially stuff with my favorite ships in the show, because people hate cannon relationships for some reason. Woah, while writing this, more people started voting which isn't that usual as of this year... Well... VIVE LA FERBNESSA!!!
'Rainy day, because you know, all those bad days seem to happen when it's like that' Vanessa softly chuckled at that thought.
It was true that it was rainy, also that it was considered a bad day so far for Vanessa. Johnny, her kinda ex, kicked her out.... Again.... They weren't dating anymore, but he did have control over the rent, and the break up had made him be a real jerk about still sharing an apartment. A non-desperate sassy girl that knew what she was doing, like Vanessa, would've just sashayed out of that crap faster than a celebrity changes dates, but she didn't ever want to go back to her parents.
Her mom had already made it apparent that she was unwelcome. Her mom had remarried and the new family that had formed didn't particularly like her. Then there was her dad, but she'd rather not think about it at the moment. So there she was sitting on a bench in the park, no umbrella, contemplating over her situation.
Meanwhile Ferb was at his college dorm, looking at the rain. He missed Phineas who was still not old enough to to graduate high school. Though they were smart enough to graduate much earlier, they both decided against it in favor of the high school experience. He had completed some gadgets on his own as well. Nevertheless, Ferb still longed for the inventing days with his brother. Deciding the rain could clear his thoughts, he walked out to the park in some rainy day attire, knowing perfectly well how odd he was to do so.
The refreshing smell of the wet ground diffused in the air. It brought back a sort of relief on Ferb. But the thing that brought him most out of his drudgery, was the sight of Vanessa, hunched over herself in a sitting position on a bench, just staring at her own feet. Ferb approached her, not minding his pants dampening as he took a seat. He held his umbrella over himself, making sure it sufficiently covered Vanessa as well.
Vanessa noticed movement around her, and looked up at the umbrella hanging over her head.
"Ferb?" She gasped softly. "What are you doing here?"
He was still, for the most part, his eyes darting was unusual. First glance was directed at her wet hair, then her face, yet no eye contact. Finally his eyes directed to her own and it made her heat up, a nice feeling after being in the cold.
"I was just walking about. College dormitories are rather small, and my roommate is never around. I guess you could say I was a bit lonely and... you seem to be as well..."
"Woah there, I'm out here because I'm trying to stay away from people, guys especially. I appreciate the umbrella help, but I can manage on my own." Vanessa turned away a bit, expecting Ferb to leave, and he did, but not before placing his umbrella in her hand. "But don't you need that?" She called as he walked away.
"Yes, yes I did." He whispered to himself, not turning back, and smiled in spite of himself.
She sat there for a bit, thinking, and then decided to walk into the nearby store. A girl working there looked immediately at her, and said, "Hey, you were that one talking to the Ferb kid, right? What does his voice sound like?"
"Excuse me?" Vanessa was confused, "Can't you just talk to him yourself?"
"Actually, no." She carried a surprised look on her. "That boy never talks to anyone. He's popular enough, but if he does say anything at all, it's short, and usually an impression of an actor. My friends keep trying to get a conversation sentence outta him, and it hasn't worked. He's not mean, just really, reeeaaally quiet."
Vanessa stood there for a second, thoughtful of how she would've thought he was just as talkative as any other guy. "He... Has a kinda British accent, it's soft, and kinda deep... I don't know what else to tell you..."
"Man, you must be some girl to get him talking!" The girl gushed, twirling her hair a bit. She was younger, about high school, and probably one of those teens that had one of those weird obsessions with people she barely knew about. (A/N: HAHAHAHA!!!! Ha.... that's me...)
Vanessa was uncomfortable, and almost aggravated with her talking about Ferb like he wasn't taken. Wait, where did that come from? She thought. Maybe she did like him a bit...
The girl paused and finally looked at Vanessa. "Oh sorry, I didn't didn't realize that you guys..."
"No, it's fine... I didn't realize either..."
"So does that mean I can-"
"No!"
A/N: XD I don't usually use OCs, and find them kinda annoying sometimes, but I didn't want any PnF characters to be annoying like that, because I've seen too much "Adyson is evil" things that aren't really fair, or with any fireside girls. If Isabella thinks they're honorable troup members, then they are in my eyes. If anything, they put up with a lot of stuff concerning Isabella's crush with Phineas.
