"So..." I awkwardly sat next to Liam.

"I heard you and Mary are going on a date." Liam said.

"Yeah..." I said running my hands through my hair, "I don't know what to do, everyone thinks I've been on millions of dates, and I've never had a girlfriend!"

"Well, that's a problem." Liam said rubbing the back of his neck, "Here how about I help you...?"

"You would?!" I said happily.

"Yeah why not? I mean I would know how to look around her..." Liam said.

"Wait...what do you mean?" I said.

"She...well she used to like me, and now you like her, so...yeah."

BUT I DON'T LIKE HER! IT WAS A DARE! UGH! But I already did it, and I don't want to tear her apart anymore than I have. 

"Okay...so where should I take her...?" I asked.

"Um..stay home." Liam said.

"Why?!" I said standing up.

"Whoa relax...what I meant was that she doesn't like being in public...remember?" Liam made a good point.

"True, but what do I wear?!" I said flipping out.

"Are you kidding?!" Liam groaned, "Just dress in something NORMAL and not trendy, okay? You should be fine..."

"Thanks man." I said exhaling.

~MARY~

"Mirror on the wall--"

Mary stop singing! Jeez you have a date with a popular in literally an hour! Why didn't I say no?! UGH. Maggie made me put on this dress

"So.." Maggie said with a mouthful of an apple, "You and Niall huh?" 

"No! I dunno Maggie! LET. ME. SING." I said, "So why, are we, talking to each other again...."

"Because you're made for each other!" Maggie said smacking me.

"Maggie! He's...popular...so, I don't think he even likes me." I said shrugging.

"So shine bright...tonight...you and I...we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky." I sang the first song that came to my head.

"Ugh...Mary, stop being nervous!"

DING-DONG!

"Mary, I'll get it." Maggie ran to the door.

~NIALL~

I arrived at Mary's house in a plaid shirt with skinny jeans. I actually combed my hair for today, and I had a rose in my hand. Too romantic? I don't mind.

"Hey Niall, Mary's upstairs worrying about how she looks." Maggie said laughing. I don't think she should worry, she's quite beautiful--NO NIALL. STOP.

"Maggie get out of here." Mary came up to the front door and I found myself staring at her. Red is really her color...

"Niall?" Mary waved her hand in front of my face.

"Oh...um are you ready...?" I asked.

"Yeah..." Mary said. While we were walking to my house I took the liberty of holding her hand. After that I could see Mary's face turn really hot. She's so...cute...I smiled at that thought.

"So, come on, I don't bite." i said as I lead her to my couch.

"So...nothing fancy?" she asked.

"I don't play the fancy French card when it comes to first dates." I confessed.

"Well I thought you did. Apparently you've been on millions of dates." Mary said folding her arms. Not  a good start.

"Look Mary, maybe this is my first date..." I confessed.

"Really...?" Mary said unfolding her arms, "I-I didn't know."

"No one was supposed to..." I said looking down, "So, how about today, I just get to know you better...?"

"Um okay, me first...?" she said.

"Sure." I smiled.

I think I know everything about Mary Ryans. Her birthday is the same day as mine, her favorite food is Mexican and Indian, she hates dresses, but will wear them when she needs to, she hates singing and is bad at it, (We all know that's a lie right? ;D ) she has a GAP of 4.0, and that's why she's considered a nerd, her natural hair color is blondish, like mine. Even though my natural hair color is brown.  Mary's very shy because of what Christa did to her in 6th grade, when her sister died, she fell into a deep depression and self-harmed. (She had started crying so I got to cradle her in my arms... :) Point for Niall!) And, she never really believed in dating anyone, that is until now she said.

"I feel like I can trust you..." she said looking down at her hands. Well FINALLY.

"Yeah, so, my turn...?" I said.

"Yep..." she said.

I was planning to give her my first acoustic performance ever because I was really bad with words when it came to explaining myself.

~TIME SKIP~

"Nice song..." Mary said smiling.

"Thanks..." I said setting my guitar down.

"So Niall," Mary said, "it's almost like 10 o' clock now, my mom's expecting me."

"Oh well I'll take you across the street then." I said laughing. We both got up and I took her hand. Once we had reached her house Mary faced me.

"Thanks Niall, I had a great time tonight." Mary said, "And...just saying, there's a first time for everything. If you hadn't had your first date before you came here, you shouldn't have lied about it."

She's right...even though lying was keeping me into this popularity thing. I haven't told ANYONE I used to be a nerd. Not anyone!

"Hey...Mary I was going to wait...but, do you maybe want to be my girlfriend..?" I asked. This was part of the dare, and I think I like her.

"...sure." Mary said fiddling with her fingers.

"Great, because I kind of wanted you to have this." I pulled my 3-leaf clover necklace off my neck and put it around hers instead.

"Really...? It's so pretty." Mary said laughing.

"So...I'll see you at school tomorrow." I said kissing her cheek.

I saw Mary's eyes widen and her cheeks turn red, again. I laughed and let go of her hand. While I was walking back to my house I smiled.

You still got it Niall!

~MARY~

I swear to got I have never felt this way around Niall! Am I falling in love...? I shut the door to my house and smiled happily. Oh Niall...

"OH MY GOD MARY!!!!!!" Maggie and Liam were surrounding me screaming and asking questions.

"HOW WAS IT?!"

"WE SAW NIALL KISS YOUR CHEEK!"

"OH MY--" they stopped when the looked at the addition to my outfit.

"He gave you his 3-leaf clover...?" Liam said looking closely at it.

"Yeah...um I guess he wanted to." I said heading up to my room, "Good night Maggie! Liam get out when Maggie tells you to!"

"Can he stay?!" Maggie said. I gave her the weirdest look.

"S...ure?" I said uncertianly. Maggie and Liam high-fived and started giggling.

Weirdos...but that didn't matter.

I was too happy to care.

I think I'm falling for Niall Horan.

Hard.
