"Why did a nerd have your phone?" Kevin asked as I sat down on my motorcycle outside.

"I don't know Kev...the girl's a stalker..." I murmured. Of course I didn't think that, but I didn't need anyone to assume things...

"Well alright man, meet us all at the pizzeria." Kevin said as DJ patted his shoulder and walked with him to his car. I powered up my motorcycle and sped off once again. This new popularity is really catching on...I mean all you have to do is be just like them, and they accept you. It's really simple.

Soon I pulled up in the pizzeria that Jason gave me directions to. Apparently there was something they had to do. I parked my motorcycle and put the helmet on the handle.

"Hey Niall!" Kevin said patting a part of the leather booth, motioning for me to sit. 

"Hey." I said sitting down. All the other guys reached over for fist pumps and I threw them around.

"Alright, now I hope you realize why we're here."

"Why?" I asked. Kevin pointed to the girls, Christa, Jacey, and Kaitlyn. And Jason was there pinching Christa's bum...

"So?" I said. Then he pointed to a girl behind the counter.

MARY.

"Why the hell does everything we do have to do with her?" I asked.

"We beat up Liam last week, and the girls stole Maggie's clothes yesterday." DJ said laughing. That's awful!

"Um..."

"Just wait until you see what we're gonna do to Mary."

I sat back worried. I mean, hasn't this girl been through enough? All the populars hate her, she infiltrated the sky deck, which is a bad thing apparently, and, she's got enough on her plate that she's working in a pizzeria. She seems to be worth so much more than this...

~MARY~

Humming and singing small tunes while I work is really a pain reliever. Maggie tells me I have a great voice, and I should use it, but I don't because the populars could just crush that with one smackdown from their stupid mouths. I love to sing, and would like to preform one day, but no, it's...it's just too much for me.

"One pepperoni pizza NOW MARY!" my boss shouted at me. I think she secretely hates me. Picking up the pizza I began to head out of the kitchen.

"Oh Mary!" 

I heard that slutty voice like it was my music.

And we all know how much I love my music.

Christa.

"Ugh, what." I said walking over with the pizza.

"This is ours thank you." she said taking a slice. She took a bite with her teeth, "Ew, it's cold. Wait it's perfect! Maybe you can use the cold slices to stuff your bra." she and the other two girls stood up and began stuffing slices of pizza down my bra. I heard howling laughter coming from another table, and realized all the popular guys were here.

"Thank you for your time." they said before walking out, leaving me with an empty tray, and a furious boss.

"Mary I am so done with you! You're fired! Get out now."

"What the hell you bitch?! That wasn't even me!" 

Then the dumb whore ripped my uniform right off of me. So I was half naked in front of all our customers. And the populars still hadn't left.

"Fired." my ex-boss said walking away. Suddenly a huge flash came from behind and I saw the Gossips. Just great! It's fucking great that people are so nice to a girl half naked in a pizzeria!

"Nerd!" all the populars cackled and ran out the shop. They all shoved me into the booth they were sitting in That's when I realized that my own boss had been in on this prank. And people in the pizzeria were still laughing at me. I actually felt like crying, right there. 

"Why do we keep meeting like this?" I turned to see Niall. No. This is not my day...

"Oh my god..." he said and soon everything went black.

Then I could see again.

And no one was laughing. Just staring...

"Hey come on."

I turned around to see Niall. Without a shirt. I looked down and realized I was wearing it. 

"Hey it's okay I'll wear this." he said pulling out his fleece from the booth.

"Do you need a ride?" he said as we walked out of the silent pizzeria.

"Why are you being so nice?" I said with caution.

"You just got stripped of your job and your clothes. I may not have been there before in my life, but I would've helped anyway." Niall said leading me to what looked like his motorcycle. I looked at the sky and saw that the sun was setting, and it was really pretty. Which was strange because it was the middle of January, and homecoming was coming up. The sunsets are so boring.

"Does the sun set like this every night in London?" Niall asked as we both sat on the motorcycle.

"Nope...not often enough." I said sighing. Niall gave me a slight nod and he drove onto the road. As he was driving without being bothered...I thought about why the populars always bothered me. It was because of when Christa and I were best friends. Then she went out with DJ, the boy I liked in 6th grade. Once she became popular, she put me with the nerds because I had a crush on him. It was devestating, until I had met Maggie. She was so supportive about the situation and let me into her group, in which I made new friends. But now that this Niall kid feels like I'm going to be his new friend, I think he's going to destroy everything I've kept inside.

"White lips, pale face, breathing in the snowflakes..."

"You sing?" I asked him. He's quite good.

"Yeah...in fact, I'm organizing a search party for something."

"What?" I said curious.

"Well...Liam--"

"Payne?" I said shocked.

"Yeah...well he was giving me a tour of the school, and we heard a girl with an amazing voice singing Over The Moon by Cher Lloyd in the math building, and we never found her."

Shit. Shit shit shit SHIT! He's talking about me!! Holy fuck...I can't tell him! He'll tell the world!

"We're here." Niall said snapping me back to reality. I climbed off and threw him the helmet. I walked into my house and instantly my dog, Mr. Fluffypants. My sister Kayla named him that before...she um...died of cancer. I lived here with my dad my mom, and no one else. My sister was on Stage 3 when we found out about her cancer. We only had three months with her until her time came. My mom and dad and I were so depressed we skipped school and work for a month. To lose Kayla was just awful. I'll never live it down.

"Thanks Niall." I said shutting the door. My dog pounced on me once I did.

"Hey buddy!" I cooed, "Who's a good dog! Who's a good dog?!" in response he barked and I laughed running upstairs to find myself a new shirt. I ran downstairs only to find a note.

Hey pumpkin, I left on a buisness trip to France, I'll be away for awhile, maybe a month. Extra money is in the safe.

P.S. Call Maggie over to stay with you if you want, your mother will be home tomorrow, she has to work 24 hours.

Once I changed I ordered a pizza and pulled out a couple movies. Then I called Maggie.

"Hey my dad's away again..."

~NIALL~

Once Mary shut the door on me I texted Kevin telling him I just went home and that'd I catch up later tomorrow. I stuffed my phone in my pocket and wheeled my motorcycle across to my house. Mary seemed so fragile, and yet I barely even know her.

"Niall, i think we have a problem." my mum said as soon as I walked in.

"What?"

"Sweetie...well...Greg is coming home..."

"Really?! Oh that's great--"

"No, it sort of isn't..."

"Why?"

"Greg dropped out of college."

He WHAT.

"Why?!" I said worried.

"Nonono, don't worry sweetie, it's because he has a new girlfriend, and he wants us to meet her since they're...drop-out buddies..." she grumbled the last part.

"Hey it's okay mum, how about I make you some tea?" I asked heading towards the kitchen.

"No hon...I need you to do me a favor."

"What?"

"The new neighbors want to have dinner with us tomorrow, and I need help thinking about things to make."

"Mom, we'll just go to that fancy restaurant near the mall." I suggested.

"But sweetie it costs so much..."

"Mom, please. I'll pay. You've been through enough."

"Oh thank you Niall." my mom said kissing the top of my head.

"No problem mum..." I said laughing. This is what I like...just me and my mum...chillin'. But I feel like I need someone to share it with...
