I couldn't believe it. After all the effort and hard work and medical issues we pulled through, IT WAS A TIE?

"There's no...possible...way." Niall mumbled. I squeezed his hand and Liam's as we waited for the judges decision.

"Wait! There's been one more vote! The winner, of the PPC's for REAL, is..."

We became nervous all over again.

"North Chesterfield High School!"

Wait...what?

"What did he say?" I asked. I seriously didn't hear him.

"Mary we WON!" Maggie attacked me. Literally. I had no idea what was going on.

"We won?" I asked. Maggie nodded and hugged me tight. I squealed and jumped around. We'd get our school budget back and Niall could stay!

People began to surround us and cheer. I smiled enjoying the attention, until someone grabbed my hand and dragged me away.

Soon I realized that I got locked in a dressing room, and I screamed.

"Calm down!" Zayn said behind me.

"Oh, it's you!" I chuckled, "Sorry."

"It's alright." Zayn said sitting down on the couch.

"Um, so Zayn, why do you seem so down?" I asked, "Wait, that was a retarded question."

"No, I don't really care that the school lost don't worry." Zayn said.

"But, Zayn, um...do you know who the last voter was?" I asked. ayn sighed and pulled his hair forward.

"It was me."

I stared at him in shock. Zayn was the last vote?

"Why?" I asked.

"You and your school have some serious talent..." Zayn said, "We've been acting like snobs, and you just, tried your best."

"Zayn...I, wow. This is hard." I said chuckling slightly, "Um, look, I think you're putting this in the wrong place. You're a great guy..."

"And?" Zayn said.

"So is your school, but you have a lot of talent! Don't bring yourself down..." I whispered. Zayn sat up and peered into my eyes.

"You don't think we're a bit to close for comfort...?" I asked.

"No...you?" Zayn said putting his hand on mine.

"Um..." I was suddenly at a loss for words. Zayn's hands moved to my cheeks and he pulled me into a soft smooth kiss. At first I was shocked and tried to pull away, but I was slowly easing into the kiss. I set my hands on his shoulders and closed my eyes enjoying the moment.

Wait I have a boyfriend!

"Oh my god!" I pulled away and backed up from Zayn, "What do you think Niall's going to say huh?!"

"I dunno! I kinda forgot you had a boyfriend..." Zayn mumbled looking down.

"Mary where are you?!" I heard Maggie and Niall scream at the same time.

"Shit, hide!" Zayn said shoving me in his closet. He shut the door and I was stuck engulfed in his clothes.

"Hey have you seen Mary?" I heard Niall say. He sounded worried sick.

I'm such a terrible person.

"Nope..." Zayn said, "Sorry."

"Alright well tell us if you see anything." Maggie said before Zayn shut the door.

"Go through the back window." Zayn said opening the closet door, "It'll be easier to be unseen."

I nodded unable to look him right in the eyes. Zayn tilted my head up and kissed my forehead.

"It never happened..."

I nodded and climbed out the window.

"Hey!" Zayn whispered behind me. I turned around a bit jumpy.

"What?!"

"I...I love you." Zayn said. I stared at him feeling guilty, because I was breaking my best friend's heart.

 "I...I'll always be there Zayn, just, not in that way." I said before running away.

The next day I sat in Maggie's bedroom getting ready for homecoming. The entire night I could not stop thinking about 'The Kiss'. It felt perfect, but I knew it couldn't be. The guy I'm in love with is Niall. Niall and only NIALL. Zayn...? He's just a best friend! With beautiful...brown eyes, and a smile that could make anyone feel loved, and---NIALL HAS A SMILE JUST LIKE THAT!

"Maggie I'm a terrible person..." I whispered while she was doing my hair for the dance.

"Why so?" Maggie asked me.

"I...I kissed Zayn last night..." I whispered.

"You what?!" Maggie said setting the curling iron down.

"Well he kind of kissed me, but--"

"Wait, so you WERE in Zayn's dressing room!" Maggie said.

"Ugh Maggie! The point is, I...Zayn and I have been friends for years! What confuses me is why he never told me sooner! I mean, he had plenty of time before I got a boyfriend!"

"But Mary, what about Konrad?" Maggie asked.

"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT KONRAD!" I screamed. Maggie backed up from the chair and looked at me.

"Sorry, I forgot what happened..." Maggie said. I sighed and threw my hands into the wall.

"I'm sorry, I just can't go back to that topic..." I whispered pushing back tears. 

"Look, Mary what he did to you does not matter okay?" Maggie reassured me. I took a deep breath and nodded.

"Now let's finish your hair." Maggie said.

"Wait..." I started. I stared into her mirror and smiled. My hair looked perfect.

"It's alright like this--"

My stomach twisted and churned.

"Mary?" Maggie said, "Mary?!"

"Oh shit..." I groaned, "I don't feel so good--"

I ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet.

"Crap Mary! Oh my god are you okay?!" Maggie exclaimed from behind the door.

"C-Call N-N--" I threw up again, "Call N-N-Niall!"

I heard Maggie's footsteps going away and I felt free to cry. My stomach was feeling absolutely terrible.

"Do you want to talk to him?" Maggie asked. I opened the door slightly and Maggie handed me the phone.

"Hello!? Mary?!" Niall said over the phone, "Baby what's wrong?!"

"I don't think...oh shit hold on--" I put the phone on mute and threw up for the third time.

"Mary?!"

"Sorry, Niall I can't go to homecoming..." I said, "I think I'm sick!"

"Oh um...okay do you want me to come to your house?" he asked.

"I'm at Maggie's, I'll ask her to drop me home then you can come..." I said.

"Alright, hang tight love you'll be okay." Niall said hanging up. 

"Want me to drop you home?" Maggie said behind the door.

"No shit Sherlock," I sassed, "I'll be ready in 10."

AW BOOHOO Mary's sick! No homecoming for her! Or is she...? >:3 TWO MORE CHAPTERS HOLY SHIT! :O Amazayn!
