Chapter 2
Cassidy's POV
I was still mad about the 'tour' I had to have. I was perfectly fine! Okay I wasn't.
But still.
I was standing next to the cafeteria door, people rushing in and out of it. I took the time now to consider what I was wearing.
Black ripped jeans. A white cropped top. And a baggy, grey jumper. Which was inside out. I quickly removed it and turned it the right way around, but when I was in the middle of putting it back on again, I heard a deep voice in front of me.
"So you're the new girl?"
I pushed my head through the jumper to reveal a tall and extremely hot guy in front of me. I stared at his holy jawline which framed his face, and the way his shirt wrapped around his bulging biceps.
"No shit," I said sarcastically, flinging my bag over my shoulder. He smirked at me a little, the corner of his mouth sneaking up.
"So there's the cafeteria," he pointed over to the blue door that I was leaning next to, and I just rolled my eyes at him, making him chuckle and shake his head slightly.
"Okay, so let's get this done and over with!" I cried, walking down the hallway. But he yanked me back by my wrist and brought me close to him. It startled me, how sudden and quick it was, and people were starting to stare.
"Are you going to do the tour for me?" he whispered, his mint breath tickling my face. His voice was so deep and serious, and I widened my eyes. But then he started laughing.
Bitch.
"Oh shut up," I shoved him lightly to the side, but when I turned around I smiled.
••••
"So next you have..." he grabbed my time table from my hand and stared at it: "Hey you clever bitch, you have all the top classes!" I smirked at him, wiggling my eyebrows.
He laughed cutely, giving back my timetable. We had been talking about the most random things, and something about the way that he talked to me told me he didn't talk to many girls like this.
Throughout the whole 'tour' that he gave me, people (especially girls) around the halls started whispering "fucking bitch" behind my back but I didn't care.
"You have Maths now, but after lunch you have history with me," he lead me to my Maths class room, and stopped just outside the door.
He just stared at me while I looked around uncomfortably. What do I do now?
"Thanks, bro," I punched his shoulder playfully and turned around to walk into the classroom, but he held me back, pulling me around again.
"Hey uh," he stumbles, scratching the back of his neck. He looked so nervous but I didn't know why. "You want to sit with me at lunch later? You'll find me easily," he suggested.
I thought about this for a moment. "I'll see," I blurted and slid through the yellow door. My mind was whirling with ideas of Ethan and I sitting in the cafeteria, his arm around my shoulders and him laughing with me.
They all burst and disappeared when my teacher abruptly came into the classroom, slammed the door and waved us off as a sign of acknowledgement.
"Class," he nodded, "In your textbooks, page 36, exercise 5. Catherine?" I looked up at him, correcting him.
"It's uh, Cassidy-" I started.
"Come here for your textbook," he interrupted, beckoning me over, his eyebrows furrowed and angry. He was about 50 years old, and he eyed me cautiously. He handed me a red textbook and I sat back down.
A few people talked to each other. Mr Andersphips didn't care and just read a book.
About halfway through the lesson, the person sitting behind me poked my back and I turned around slowly, giving who ever it was a straight face because their nails had scratched my back. It was a blond girl, and to me, she wasn't pretty at all. But she looked deadly familiar.
"Excuse me?" she said in a sweet, sugary tone, batting her eyelashes and twirling her hair. She clearly had too much makeup on, and I think some got into her eyes, because I'm pretty sure she had made a mistake and wasn't supposed to be to be talking to me.
"Hmm?" I just raised my eyebrows at her.
"Hi! I'm Blake, and you must be the new girl!" She continued in the honey sweet tone, now giving me a big, toothy, fake smile.
"Uh huh," I just mumbled, turning back around my seat. Why did I need to talk to her? But she grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back around.
She looked shocked, but it was completely fake, her eyes wide and her mouth opened. I rolled my eyes and looked at her, implying: what do you want?
"Look," she started, but her tone had changed completely. "I saw you walking around with my boyfriend earlier, and I just wanted to say that-"
I suddenly got a small flashback to watching her harass Ethan as she had walked down the hallway that morning.
"There was nothing going on," I stopped her, overwhelmed. "He was just giving me a tour like the Principal told him to, jeez," that had seemed to calm her down, but she still came back.
"Listen, if I see you with him again - talking to him, looking at him, thinking about him-"
"What if I'm thinking about him right now?" I smirked at her.
"Bitch, I will smack that smirk off of your face, and start rumours about you being a slut who slept with the whole football team," she hissed, leaning into me so that Mr Andersphips didn't hear anything. Now it was my turn to be fake shocked.
"Oh my god, I am so scared," I cried sarcastically, and turned back to my work. That bitch better sort herself out.
But my heart started to beat faster when I took in what she had said. What about eating with Ethan?
I gulped down the big knot in my throat and concentrated on my work.
••••
I took my tray from the lunch lady and slowly turned on my heel to look at the whole cafeteria. I spotted Ethan straight away, eating at a table with fuckface (I mean Blake), the other guy who looked similar to him and a few other people.
It was clear how everyone was separated. There were geeks and nerds, jocks and popular people.
Should I go?
There was an empty space next to Ethan, and I guessed he had been saving it for me.
Wait what?
Why did I even think of that? As if he actually meant I could sit with him! He probably asked all the girls that once in a while but turned them down. I thought.
Then I made my way to the corner of the room to and empty table. But I heard my name being called from behind me.
I whipped my head around to see that Ethan was waving me over.
What?
I gulped and slowly dragged myself to his table, ignoring the dirty looks fuckface was giving me with every step I took.
Finally, I sat at the table next to Ethan. I was a nervous wreck inside, but after a few minutes of talking with all of them, I felt relaxed.
"Yo, Gray, pass me the ketchup," I called to Grayson, the one who looked similar to Ethan. I had found out that they were twins, and the two other guys sitting at the table were called Aaron and Jake.
"Oh and this is Blake," Ethan looked over at Blake, who looked at me and smiled her famous plastic smile. I smiled back at her, just the way she had smiled at me, but then turned away immediately.
Jake for some reason couldn't stop staring at me, especially my mouth, which I was cramming full of fries.
"Honey, stop," Blake giggled, shoving the burger Ethan had offered her away and ruffled his hair like he was a damn dog. "You know I'm on a diet!"
"A diet to get anorexia?" I mumbled while munching on my burger. Grayson and Aaron snickered quietly. Ethan looked at me weirdly then punched my shoulder hard.
"Ow!" I moaned, even though it didn't hurt at all. "It's true! She a fucking stick," I added, rolling my eyes. He ignored me this time and faced Blake again.
"Cassidy, I think you should go to the lady's and take a moment to wash your mouth with water and soap," Blake snapped at me.
"How long did it take you to think of that one," I mumble again. Grayson, Aaron and Jake chuckle this time, and Ethan actually smiles a bit. Why does he even like that bitch, though?
"Ethan," Blake yelped like a baby, "Let's go outside. I want to talk to you!" She dragged him out of the cafeteria and I was so thankful that she had gone.
"How long has she been here?" I questioned the three boys.
"About 2 months," Aaron responded.
"Yeah, we know that she's a total bitch but we have to respect that Ethan likes her," Grayson sighed.
"Huh, I guess," I finished my last fry and got up to get rid of my tray, but Jake stopped me.
"We can tell you something about her that only we know," he pointed at Aaron and Gray. "But you have to swear that you won't tell anyone."
"Sure," I shrug, but inside I'm dying to know.
