[Nico] - Sixteen

The first night was hard for Nico. His mind raced and his anxious thoughts led to deepened fears. Each time Leo moved in his sleep, Nico froze. His heart seemed to beat loudly, but his body didn't move. He was frozen, but he couldn't be more warm next to Leo's body and the wall.

Leo groaned, managing to hit his head on the bed post. He winced and then caught sight of Nico. "Nico...?"

"What if. . ." Nico paused, "What if I'm afraid of love. And, um, intimacy?" Nico questioned quietly, lying next to Leo.

Leo snuggled his waist softly.

"Well. I'll help you over come that. Because, if you don't, that would be bad for me." He stated.

Nico gave him a confused look.

"Why?" He challenged.

"Because I love you."

Nico, although hearing what he had said before, felt a rush of excitement. "I'm scared." Leo nodded, Nico felt his hair move against the fabric of his shirt. "I am too. But we'll be okay." Nico thought for a moment, Leo's statement lingering in the air.

"Are you sure? W-What even are we?" Nico couldn't help but question. Leo looked up, kissing Nico's cheek. "I'll do this properly then." He decided, sitting up and detangling himself from Nico's waist.

"Nico di Angelo." He began, grabbing Nico's hands softly. "Will you be my boyfriend?" He asked almost cheekily. Nico swallowed the fear rising up his throat, and squeeze Leo's hands to stop his own from shaking.

"Would it be crazy to say yes?"

"No."

"Can we take it slow?"

"As slow as you need it."

Nico let a small smile upturn his lips. His heart skipped a beat, and he felt... fuzzy.

"Then, yes, I will be your boyfriend."

Leo cocked an eyebrow. "To whom?" Nico gave a short laugh.

"I, Nico di Angelo, will be your boyfriend — Leo Valdez."

This time, Leo smiled.
