The Ultimate Prank
Its James!!
The first one looks weird but the second one turned out nice.
After some time the group had built a small stacks of weapons they thought could be useful or they thought looked pretty.
They pretty much acted like The Workshop was an 'all you can get for free' store.
Maddie sighed as she threw away another useless gadget. "This is all very interesting but it won't help our problem. Jack, any luck?"
Jack was grinning insanely. "The works. So advanced. Amazing." He turned the machine he was holding around.
Maddie frowned. "Focus, Jack. And no we aren't taking any of it except what we need. Despite what he did, we made a deal with Technus. And since he took one of our weapons, we can take one of his. It's only fair." She scowled. "But I'll let the kids choose another one as payback of doing this to our son."
Phantom was meanwhile leaving the house with a satisfied smirk on his face. He walked around and looked inside one of the windows. "Is it done?"
Phantom ignored the flinch Fenton made when he looked at him. Richard gave him the thumbs up and floated up.
The boys looked at the crazy eyes they'd glued everywhere they could with satisfaction. Fenton shook the cup he was holding. The eyes jiggled comically at him.
"How do you even have so many?" Fenton asked Richard who grinned.
"I always have good pranking materials with me."
The door opened to reveal Chelsea. "Hey, guys? We can't find anything to use as glue and the tv is too heavy."
Fenton nodded and floated to the door. They followed Chelsea to another room, what they thought was the living room.
A few students (and Dani and Damien, because no one's pranking without them) were holding up different inventions and looking for a way to tape them to the ceiling. Fenton crossed his arms and thought.
Phantom tapped him on the shoulder. "Remember when we got out new powers? You were controlling the ectoplasm."
Fenton nodded. He had been thinking the same thing. "Maybe enhanced senses isn't the only thing that settled in with my human form."
Fenton looked hard at the ectoplasmic air in front of him. It started swirling and became more solid. Soon he had a green glowing hard sphere floating in front of him.
"Whoa." Phantom slid a finger on the smooth surface. "It's solid. We've never been able to do that before."
"Stop touching it," Fenton hissed, not looking away from the sphere. He narrowed his eyes and it started bubbling.
The other students stopped what they were doing to stare.
Richard held out a hand. "Whoa. It's heating up."
Fenton grinned at the lava like substance he'd made. He hadn't really thought it would work. He'd just figured, if he could move ectoplasm maybe he could make the molecules vibrate fast enough the create this pasty, burning mess.
Fenton walked over to a couch and lifted it up. The blob following him everywhere. The human boy flipped the couch and floated up, placing the couch against the ceiling. The blob flew over to him and Fenton used it as glue. He slowly let go.
The couch staged glued upside down to the ceiling.
Fenton turned around and made jazz hands, grinning at this new power.
The other stared in amazement. Dash poked at the piece of furniture. It didn't budge. "Say, Fenton."
"Mmh?"
Dash looked at him inquisitively. A faint trace of fear visible. "Were you always this strong?"
Fenton blinked. "Oh umm. Well yeah. You've seen me at fights right. I've lifted a school bus once and it wasn't that heavy."
Phantom slapped the other's arm. "That was me, stupid."
Dash nodded. "I meant in your human form."
"Oh..." Fenton thought. "Well yeah. I'm pretty strong but that was mostly thanks to Phantom's powers and strengths leaking into me. It's just. We're in the Ghost Zone now so I get powers instead of him. I probably wouldn't be able to lift the Fenton Bazooka in my state in the Human Zone without Phantom." He laughed.
Phantom slung an arm around him. "Yeah. You wouldn't lift a brick with those noodles you call arms."
Fenton scowled at him. "Hey! Just because I diss on myself doesn't mean you can do it."
Chelsea clapped her hands. "Guys. Less talking more working. I heard your parents are almost done."
And so they hustled about. Fenton working hard to turn the ectoplasm to superglue and the rest holding the inventions in place.
Kwan stood on the ground looking up. He frowned. "No let's put that weird toaster over there. It looks better like that."
Phantom rolled his eyes. "We're doing a prank, not interior designing."
Richard called out. "Hey dudes. I got another idea!"
Fenton let go of the big invention him and Dash were lifting and flew closer. He ignored Dash's yelp as he fell under the weight. "What's that?"
Richard grinned. "We should film it."
A bit later Maddie opened the door. "Kids, we're done. What have you been do-" she stopped in shock at the sight before her.
It looked like the whole room had been turned upside down. Not to mention the ground was covered in bubble wrap. And everything seemed to be glittering.
"What how?"
Fenton flew over to her excitedly, covered in green glitter. "Mom! Look what I can do!" He cupped his hands together and ectoenergy seemed to accumulate into it. More and more. Then it exploded. Glitters flew everywhere.
Maddie jumped. "Danny? What? Oh umm. That's great." She patted his head, still taken back by the room. "Da- Fenton? Isn't this a bit...excessive?"
Phantom suddenly poked his head from the door right behind her. "I know. Isn't it great. He's gonna get a stroke."
Maddie sighed. "Anyway. We found everything useful but we don't have the right equipment. I remembered you mentioning other mechanics?"
Fenton nodded. "Far Frozen. That's a great idea! Put the things in the ship and get ready to leave. We're almost done."
Phantom grinned. "And we'll have to make a fast getaway."
Maddie sighed as she turned around, wondering whether she should be worried. Who knows what would happen if her son(s) teamed up with Jack or worse... had a prank war.
The other kids floating in the room finished giving it final touches and looked up at Tucker.
"Almost done, Foley?" Dash asked, grinning like a madman.
Tucker nodded. "You guys get the thermos and stay out of sight."
Phantom threw it up. "Got it right here. Catch." The thermos flew through the air and Richard caught it.
He made sure to put it in the middle of the room.
Everyone filed out. They tried to peek in the room at Tucker, who finished attaching his camera to the ceiling at an angle that it covered the whole room.
"Wait! I wanna see it." Sam pushed her way in and looked around approvingly.
Phantom laughed. "I thought you were against revenge."
Sam looked at the ghost pursing her lips. "Of course not. I'm a goth, Phantom. Even though I'm a pacifist, a bit of petty revenge is all in for me."
"Alright, dudes. It's on!" Tucker flew down. "I better get Maria back, Danny. She's got the best pixels."
"Yeah yeah. I'll pick her up later."
Dash shook his head. "How is that not weird to you?"
"Oh Dash." Fenton looked at him with pity. "My life it the definition of weirdness."
Phantom shook his head. "Compared to that, Tucker is almost normal."
Tucker gave his camera a goodbye kiss.
Phantom and Dash looked on with blank faces.
"He's in the top five."
"Gotcha."
Once everyone was outside and in the ship, Maddie gave Fenton a thumbs up. "Are you sure you don't want to ride with us, sweetie?"
Fenton shook his head. "Me and Phantom will go with the clones. We don't all fit in the ship, besides, I wanna make sure they'll be safe." That was true, but the main reason none of the ghosts approached the ship too much was because the air around it (even inside where all the filters were covered) was stale and uncomfortable. And neither Dannys trusted the thing anymore.
"Oh and don't forget to bring the thermos back, son," Jack yelled and Fenton nodded.
He looked at his cousins. "Ready?"
Dani grinned. "Oh this will be great."
Chelsea held tight onto Blackjack's mane. She was allowed to ride him from now on.
Fenton opened the door and concentrated on the thermos in the middle. He moved the ectoplasm around. It took a bit longer than he wanted to but the cap finally opened. There was a light and something flew out, yelling.
Fenton quickly floated the thermos and the cap towards him and clanged the door shut. He put the chair in place so it wouldn't open and ran away giggling.
He could hear confused grunts and popping sounds from inside.
He gestured for the others to leave and scooped up Phantom in his arms, since the poor ghost couldn't fly. They traveled away from The Workshop.
Suddenly a loud scream was heard.
The group laughed as they got farther away.
They traveled close to the ship. Not really following anyone since Danny's best friends and cousins knew their way to the Far Frozen, being one of their most commonly visited lair. Tucker must be giving his parents directions.
They talked as they flew. Giddy and filled with adrenaline after their little prank.
Eventually, talk died down a bit and Fenton fell into a comfortable silence.
Phantom adjusted his position and looked up at Fenton. It felt so weird to look at himself and be carried by himself.
Fenton's eyes flitted down to glance at the ghost boy but he quickly averted his gaze.
Phantom sighed. "Alright. Spit it out. I know what you're thinking."
Fenton frowned. "Then why do I have to say it?"
"Because it helps to talk about it."
Both Dannys exchanged amused looks, knowing where that phrase had come from.
"Speaking of her, I wonder what Jazz is doing," Fenton chuckled.
The other scowled. "Don't change the topic."
Sigh. "Alright. It's just...seeing you...with that fiery hair and blue skin. It's so..."
"Terrifying? Scarring? Scary?"
"I was gonna say weird."
Phantom snorted. "Sure you were. Look. I know what you mean. But at least you don't have to look like this!"
Fenton pursed his lips. "But you don't need to see yourself all the time."
"You think I don't know how I look!" Phantom ground his teeth. "I know exactly how I look!! What's worse. I could be growing pointy ears right now and I can't check!!"
Neither Danny realized they had stopped flying and were making a scene.
"Well what do you want me to do about it!!" Fenton exclaimed, scowling. "What can we do. There's nothing we can do!!"
Phantom closed his eyes, knowing he was right. He gasped. "You can alter ectoplasm, can't you."
Fenton stopped scowling and blinked. "Yeah...I could change your appearance."
There was an awkward cough and the boys turned to look at Damien and David on Cujo. The ship and the rest of the ghosts a little way ahead, looking back at them in confusion.
"You guys ok," David asked.
Fenton blinked. He had been deep in thought. "Uhh yeah. Just got caught up. Sorry to keep you waiting."
Phantom nodded as they passed. "Just chatting it up with my other half."
"Inner argument."
"I won."
"Darn right, I did."
"Alright. Stop." Damien waved his hands. "It's confusing." He paused, almost afraid to ask. "But what were you arguing about?"
David nodded. "Why are you so afraid of your look?"
Fenton and Phantom flinched. Their expressions turned sour. They turned to the clones simultaneously. "None of your business." And they made their way to the front.
The cousins stared after them in shock. They had never seen Danny(s) act like that towards them. Not even to his enemies. What was happening?
Damien and David looked at each other uncertainly.
"Should we ask Sam and Tucker?" David inquired.
Damien nodded. "But if they don't want to tell is either, we should leave it. If it's important, they'll tell us."
They followed after the boys.
Dani greeted them. "Hey guys. What ha-"
"Nothing." They passed her and kept going.
Dani looked after them in confusion. "That were the Dannys right?"
Cujo bounded up, tongue sticking out. Damien nodded. "Something's up."
