Plans
Tucker beckoned them all forward and they formed a circle. Jack making up half the circle.
Tucker spoke up quietly. "Ok so I couldn't see where we were going thanks to someone walking in front of me and blocking my sight. Did anyone here memorize the way?" He knew it was a long shot but it was worth a try.
He got lucky. Kim nodded. "I did. But only from here to the interrogation room. Then from there to the other cell. But that path is kinda sketchy. Maybe if I see it."
Tucker grinned. "That's perfect. So you can sneak out without raising any alarms and get the remote."
Jack was surprisingly serious. "It will be suspicious for a prisoner to walk out alone."
Tucker pursed his lips.
Chelsea spoke up. "One of us could go disguised as a ghost."
Kim frowned. "How. We don't look like ghosts at all. And the only ghost we have is kitten here."
Ha. Me.
They turned around to see the cat inspecting them. It seemed to be listening in on the conversation.
"Or is it a ghost?"
Chelsea looked at Kim when she spoke. "What else is it gonna be?"
"A living cat that made its way into the Ghost Zone," Jack pointed out.
Kim nodded. "And they captured him and put him in a glass cylinder since they don't have catsized bracelets yet."
"Look at its red eyes though," Chelsea said.
Tucker's eyes widened at that. He inspected the cat more closely. Now that he knew about the red eyes he wondered how he could have overlooked that. They seemed to stand out from its black fur. They shone with intelligence. Tucker realized this was, in fact, a ghost.
He smirked at the feline. "Don't worry guys. I know what to do. We just have to find a way out after we take the remote."
The others looked like they wanted to inquire further about what Tucker has planned but Kim spoke up, realizing they didn't have the time.
"I can get out without raising any alarms but what about you?"
Jack leaned forward. "First figure out where the others are and find a way to tell us."
Kim frowned. "How. I can't just shout out: Go right! Then left after the prison with the ugly ghost snake!"
Jack dug through his pockets. He mumbled things under his breath. "They took all my weapons but they can't take this baby!" He held up a pair of Fenton phones. "They let you communicate with others."
Chelsea looked unsure. "That's all nice and dandy but what are we supposed to do with just one pair."
"I actually have another right here." Tucker held up his own Fenton phones. The trio always carried them just in case and he had been able to hide them from the guards by putting it in one of the many pockets in his pants. They hadn't even bothered to check.
The others just assumed he had gotten them from the pile of weapons.
Chelsea nodded. "Cool. So Kim takes one and who wears the other."
Tucker wanted to volunteer but Jack beat him to it. "I will. We will stay in contact."
Tucker sighed.
Kim frowned. "When you get out there will be alarms. We need a way to defend ourselves."
"We could steal the weapons from the ghosts." Chelsea grinned.
Jack scowled. "We have to get the Fenton weapons back. Who knows what they will do with them."
Tucker nodded. "We'll look for them as we run away from the guards."
The others gave him inquisitive looks.
He shrugged. "You have a better idea? All we can rely on after that is luck."
Chelsea chuckled. "Sure, Bad Luck Tuck."
Tucker ground his teeth.
Kim got between them. "We don't have time for this."
Jack nodded. "Tucker, what's your plan."
The boy stood up and walked to the cylinder. He crouched down in front. "Hey dude. You here again."
Chelsea frowned. "Uuh. Tucker. That's a cat."
He ignored her. "So as you can see. We need your help."
The cat cocked its head.
"We will help you get out if you help us get to the ship and save Danny."
The cat raised its eyebrows.
Tucker sighed. "You know. Danny. Billy whatever. You guys are kind of old pals."
Its face cleared up.
"So no escaping the moment we let you out ok? You help us get to the ship. Then you can go. I bet it's near the entrance cuz its presence weakens ghosts and they don't want the guards affected. Even if you get out of this cage, they will catch you soon enough so you don't have a choice."
Once Tucker made sure the cat understood he asked: "Deal?"
The cat's expression turned into a smirk. A very odd look on its face. "Deal."
"Whoa. The cat just talked." Chelsea stumbled back. "So it is a ghost."
Tucker stood up smiling and glanced at the others. "He is and he will help us. Can anyone get him out?"
Kim raised an eyebrow. "So I get it's a ghost but how is a ghost cat going to help us?"
"Just do it. He'll show you once he's out of the glass. I think it's disturbing his powers. Right?" Tucker asked the cat, who nodded.
"Yes and it's getting very uncomfortable. Hurry."
Kim and Chelsea tried to break the glass but to no avail.
Jack was less eager. "Are you sure it's trustworthy?"
Tucker chuckled and shook his head. "He's a prankster and he doesn't do much teamwork but he gets that he needs us. And he doesn't have anything against Danny so he might wanna help him. So no. He's not completely trustworthy but do we have a choice?"
Jack thought about it. "We don't," he decided and bounded forward. He punched the glass hard and a crack appeared.
Tucker whistled. He had guessed this was the same type of glass Skulker made his cages from. Walker probably got the material from him but Skulker kept the stronger and better ones. Because Skulker's glass wouldn't have broken at a punch. Even if Jack was strong.
The glass shattered an the humans flinched.
Kim peeked outside. She shook her head as a 'coast is clear' sign.
The cat smiled, then began to deform.
Chelsea yelped as the head flushed in on itself. The body stretched until it became a long blob. Then the blob took shape.
It was a tall ghost dressed in a long black trenchcoat that covered its feet. It wore a big black hat and red glasses covered its faceless face.
It stretched. "Finally. I'm me again."
Chelsea narrowed her eyes. "And who is 'me'."
The ghost bowed. "My name is Amorpho. Although I'm known by many names."
Chelsea frowned. "Which are?"
Tucker groaned when she asked that. "No please don't."
Amorpho smirked and changed. He reformed and reappeared as a man. "I'm the Box Ghost. John Cena. Spock. Spiderman. Yoda." Then he reformed and appeared as a tall brownhaired girl. "You." He returned to his original form. "I'm everyone."
Chelsea blinked. "Whoaaa. That's awesome."
Jack narrowed his eyes. "Wait a second. You're that ghost that made fun of us the first day. I almost forgot about you."
Tucker chuckled. "Yeah. You didn't even attack the real Box Ghost."
Kim stood in between the angry man and smirking ghost. "We don't have time for this. Arpho. Or whatever your name is. I get that you're going to form into a guard but how are supposed to get out of here in the first place?"
Amorpho crossed his arms. "Amorpho," he corrected. "And you're pretty smart, Mrs. Smartass. To figure that part out. But not smart enough."
She pushed him to the lock. "Then just show me how smart I am, red belt."
The ghost stood in front of the cage. "Why 'red belt'?"
She pointed down and he saw the belt around his waist. He deadpanned. "Does that mean I know karate now?"
"Only if you turn into a guy who does."
The ghost stopped to reconsider that. "That's actually..."
"Get to work!"
"Alright. Alright." He stretched his arm out and shoved his hand into the keyhole. He let his hand turn into goop, then reform as it filled the empty spaces in the cage. The keyholes in the Human Zone were way more simple than the ones in the Ghost Zone.
The goop turned this way and that and it took a minute but the lock finally clicked.
The humans flinched. Fully expecting an alarm to go off. Thankfully it stayed quiet.
"Wow. These ghosts really need to upgrade their Security system." Chelsea snorted.
"We're not out of here yet." Amorpho formed into an out of shape blob then the color turned green. Soon a ghost guard stood in front of them. Smirk and all.
"Ready to go, fuzzywuzzy?"
Kim frowned but put the Fenton phones on. "Don't call me that."
"Wait." Chelsea stopped them. "How are we supposed to get out later."
Kim smiled and removed the pin that held back her hair. She turned to Amorpho. "Can you shape this into the lock?"
Amorpho seemed dubious but grabbed the pin anyway. He closed the door again and unfolded the pin. Then he stuck it in the lock. Thankfully it was long. Just enough to fit through all the space.
The door clicked open again.
Chelsea laughed. "Works every time."
Amorpho snorted. "You wouldn't have been able to open it without me. The lock is too complex. Your key can't be removed. You'll have to leave it there."
Jack frowned. "How will we hide that?"
Kim squinted. "Oh. You can barely see it. Just make sure nobody tries to open it."
Amorpho and Kim exited and the cage door shut with a blunt click.
Tucker leaned forward. "Remember. First find a way to get the remote. If the alarms go off, Walker will be surrounded by guards. Cover your arm. Walker's smart. Then find the others. Tell us where you are before you help them escape. We have to find our way out too."
Kim nodded.
Amorpho grabbed her from behind and she squeaked. "Calm down, Miss." He let some goop surround her arm and it formed into an exact replica of an antihuman bracelet.
Kim scrunched her nose. "Ok. That's one less thing to worry about but ew."
"I have to stay touching it so don't move too much."
Jack put the earphones on. "Test test. Kim, can you hear me?"
Kim winced. "Yes. Loud and clear."
Tucker smirked. "Ooh. Testy."
Chelsea sniggered and Kim rolled her eyes. "Let's just go."
Amorpho was very much amused. "Humans have an entertaining manner of interacting."
And he guided the both of them away from the caged humans.
