Frosty moss
This is the drawing of the trio im ost proud of so far
Danny woke with a start. He looked up at the sky of the Ghost Zone and smiled. He missed the stars of the human realm though.
He sighed and stretched. He felt well rested. He ruffled his hair and looked at his surroundings. He had finally dropped on the ground but he found he was still glowing slightly.
He looked around and was surprised to see that everyone else was still sleeping soundly. How could it be that he was so refreshed but was still awake before the rest? Had he slept past a whole day and was this the next night?!
He decided on no. The burst of power he got earlier must have energized him enough.
Danny stood up and inspected the teenagers and adults. He saw their bruised and battered bodies as he walked by them. He winced, not believing they would sleep outside on the hard ground with him instead of inside safe from other ghosts and on a soft bed.
He looked at the ground critically. Actually, now that he thought about it, the ground wasn't all that bad. It was covered in a deep layer of moss. Making his feet sink in the ground. He noticed the security bracelets they had mentioned around their arms. He had no idea how he would get those off later.
He sighed as he looked down at his best friends' bodies. Valerie too, he guessed. Is Valerie his best friend too now? She seemed to integrate with them quite nicely. And Mikey seemed to look up to Danny. He had mixed feelings about that. Andrew though. That boy kept looking at him with this calculating expression that didn't sit him well.
Danny plopped himself down. He really should stop worrying so much. But the boy couldn't get one thing out of his head.
The injuries.
He looked down at his hands. He could do it. Nobody else knew of it so it wouldn't endanger his secret. It would give them a clue though. But it was something he was willing to risk. He had had enough of seeing the students stumble around painfully while he had the power to help. Especially when Sam had gotten a concussion. Star too, it seems. Tucker was also still injured. And Valerie.
But he couldn't make a decision without consulting with his friends first.
Danny crouched by Tucker. "Tuck," he whispered. "Common dude wake up. We need to talk."
Tucker mumbled something incoherent but didn't move.
Danny smirked. "You asked for it." He reached out and snatched Tucker's pda from his clutched hands. Immediately Tucker yelped awake. Danny put a hand on his mouth and showed him the pda.
Tucker relaxed, then frowned. He said something but it was muffled by Danny's hand.
Danny put a finger to his lips and removed his hand.
Tucker took his pda back and rubbed his eyes. "What are you doing? I was just having this beautiful dream and I had so many chicks and I was famous..."
Danny waved his hand. "Sure sure. Hey, Tuck I need to talk to you guys. Can you wake up Sam?"
Tucker sat up and put his glasses on. "Sam? You want me to wake her gothic highness up? Oh no. No way you do it."
"Common Tuck. Pleaseeee. You know she hates the morning sun. She's gonna kill me."
Tucker raised a finger. "First: this is the Ghost Zone. There is no morning sun. Second: you do it. She has a soft spot for you." He crossed his arms. "Besides, you are the one who wants us awake. We wouldn't have this problem if you just let us sleep."
Danny sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Fine." He approached Sam slowly and cautiously.
"Do it before I fall asleep again."
"Ok ok. I'm on it."
Danny shook Sam's shoulder. "Sam? Sam. Wake up. I need to talk to you guys. Please it's important. Also, please don't kill me."
Sam groaned from under the sheets.
He shook her a bit more. "Sammm," he whined.
The girl's head stuck out and she send the boy a hard glare, making him flinch. "What," she hissed. Her eyes were squinted and her hair stood up wildly.
Danny halfsmiled. "I- uhh need to talk to you guys."
"This better be good." She sat and Tucker scooted over as she flattened out her hair.
"Ok." Danny sighed. "I'm thinking of healing them."
His friends blinked. Then Sam scowled. "You- what?"
"I'm gonna heal you and everyone else." He continued before they could protest. "They already know I'm halfghost so it will be ok."
Tucker frowned. "But what if they found out, you know, that you're Phantom," he said that last part in Ghost.
Danny shook his head. "Nobody knows he has this power. They'll just think it's another one of my powers and it just happens to be similar to the ice part." Danny had thought this out. Everyone knew Phantom had the power of ice, but only him, Tucker, Sam and Jazz knew of the other side of that power.
"Common, guys," he encouraged them. "It's better this way. We'll be stronger and fitter and nothing to hold us back. Besides, if anything else happens that makes someone seriously injured I will have to reveal that part anyway."
Sam bit her lip and glanced at Tucker. He shrugged. "If he wants to do it, let him do it. As long as I get to go back to sleep."
Danny chuckled. "Ok. You guys want to go first?"
Tucker perked up immediately. He held up his arm, which still hurt after the Fright Knight incident. "Me first! Me first!"
"I thought you wanted to sleep."
"I'll sleep better with a good arm."
Danny rolled his eyes but wrapped his hand gently around Tucker's arm. He looked into his core and shoved away the power of ice he usually used. He searched deeper for another type of cold. He guided it to his hand and immediately it came out and enveloped Tucker's arm.
It was frost.
The frost crawled up his arm and covered his chest. The boy tensed at the cold but quickly sighed in relief as his muscles relaxed at the soothing touch of the frost. He smiled. "Oh that feels good."
Danny waited until Tucker was completely enveloped and stopped the flow. It ceased and he drew his hand back. He used to have trouble with controlling it, but after a year and a half he had mastered the power quite nicely.
Tucker smiled with his eyes closed for two more seconds before he brought his hand up and brushed the frost off his face. He grinned at Danny. "I don't care how many times you do that, it's still awesome."
Danny laughed, happy to see any traces of a fight on Tucker's body gone. He turned to Sam, who still seemed very unsure about all this. However she couldn't turn down the offer.
Danny swiftly covered her in frost too. He smiled as he drew back his hand. She looked so relaxed and happy. He couldn't help but think of how beautiful she looked now. Her hair out of the ponytail. Her relaxed muscles. Her soft expression and all covered in frost. As if she were a shinning diamond.
Tucker shook himself loudly and got Sam out of her trance. She opened her violet eyes and blinked as frost seeped into them. She rubbed her face and shook her hair. The snow glittering out.
Danny turned to the sleeping students. His cheeks slightly tinted red. "Al-" His voice caught a little. He cleared his throat. "Alright. Time to level up." He wasn't about to walk from student to student and heal them individually.
Danny laid his hands on the mossy ground, hoping he had enough power for this. This healing ability would take a lot out of his energy but Sam told him she had given him three pills and that would be enough to heal a legion...he hoped.
He took a deep breath and guided the frost to his hands. It seeped out onto the moss and spread out. It covered everything. The ground, the plants in between, but most importantly, the humans.
Danny did his best to guide the frost's path but he didn't have control over that.
Danny started trembling as it spread out even further.
"Danny this is a bad idea," Sam warned him.
"Just tell me when it's done," Danny said through gritted teeth.
Tucker stood up and craned his neck. "Almost...just a little more...there's this person on the right...man Mr. Lancer makes up for two students...aaaand stop! I said stop. Danny it's almost over the cliff now."
Danny shook. "I'm trying." He grunted and shut off the flow with one push. It stopped an the halfa slumped on the ground, panting. This was what he was afraid would happen. It was like the old times. When he struggled to even heal a simple scratch.
Sam put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, you ok?"
Danny nodded. He felt his energy go back. He already felt the last traces of tiredness leave. Huh, must be the pills.
Sam scowled. "What were you thinking?!"
Danny looked up in shock. "What?"
Sam crossed her arms. "Just because you want to heal everybody doesn't mean you have to be impatient about it. You could've just gone individually."
Danny shook his head. "We don't have time for that."
"Of course we do. Those idiots aren't planning on waking up anytime soon, Danny."
"Sam, it's ok. I have more power now. Especially with those pills and the Ecto-dejecto. I'm not even tired anymore. And I don't get why you are getting so worked up. So I healed them all at once in two minutes what I could've done in two hours if I had gone one by one. And I'm not even tired!"
Sam's scowl couldn't be anymore harder. "But that's just the point. Why did we have to give you those pills in the first place?! Because you almost died!!! That wouldn't have happened if you had been more careful!!"
"Uuh guys?" Tucker tried to intervene. He shrugged when they ignored him and brought out his pda.
Danny stood up angrily. "Oh so it's my fault Walker captured us?? What could I have done to prevent that?!"
Sam put her hands on her hips. "It's exactly that attitude."
Danny scowled. "My attitude?! You're the one with attitude here."
"Oh yeah? You're always so careless. Jumping into things. Like evil ships that will suck out your life!"
"What could I have done!! I did my best ok?!"
"But it wasn't enough. I had to come and save you...again. I wouldn't have to do that if you just...stayed...safe." Sam trailed off. Her arms dangled at her sides.
Danny's scowl softened. "You know I can't do that, Sam. I also want you to be safe."
Sam looked up at him. "But then you'll keep getting into trouble," she said almost pleadingly.
Danny smiled that sloppy smile she loved. "Then you'll just have to keep saving me."
Sam smiled. I will, she promised herself. I always will. No matter what. She leaned forward and planted a light kiss on Danny's cheek. She quickly retreated and turned away. She blushed. Why did I do that?!!!
Danny was shell shocked. The feel of her lips still fresh on his skin. What just happened?! He knew one thing for sure:
He was never washing his face again.
Tucker pumped his fist and grinned down at the picture on his pda. "Got it."
"Can you send that to my phone?"
Tucker glanced to his right to see Star leaning on her elbow and looking like she had been watching the whole time. He nodded. "Sure."
Sam's eyes widened. She gasped when she saw most everyone was awake and staring.
Tucker shrugged and chuckled. "I tried to warn ya."
Richard was whistling at them and Chelsea scrunched her nose in disgust. A few others were laughing but Melissa pursed her lips sadly. Kim smiled. "Ship." Star nodded.
Maddie scrunched her eyebrows. Danny? With the goth? She grinned. Finally.
Jack stood up and bellowed: "Great job, Dannyboy. About time you got a girlfriend. When I was your age the girls would line up to get a look at this man."
Maddie frowned up at him.
"Of course I only had eyes for you, Maddie."
Tucker stood in front of Danny. "Danny? Hey Sam, I think you've broken him."
Danny blinked. His face flushed red. "No I'm ok."
"What's with all this snow?" Paulina shook it off her clothes.
Danny sighed in relief at the change of topic.
Star brought a hand to her head. "Hey! I feel fine now?" She stood up warily but was surprised when she wasn't even dizzy. "What happened?"
"That would be me." All eyes turned to Danny when he spoke. "It's another one of my powers," he explained.
Andrew stared at the frost in awe. "This is your doing?"
Danny nodded. "Hopefully you're all healed now." Leroy stretched and Danny patted his back. He kept himself busy with the monster as the humans moved their bodies around in wonder.
"Why didn't you do this before?" Dash demanded.
Danny shrugged. "Didn't want you to figure out I'm halfghost."
Andrew frowned as he dusted himself off. "So you also have a ghost half."
"I never said that."
"You aren't denying it either."
"Fine." Danny rolled his eyes as he turned to the boy. "I'm denying that I have a ghost half."
"I don't believe you."
"Believe what you want." Danny knew from experience that if he acted as if he didn't care whether the other believed him or not, more chance the other would believe him than when he pursued the matter.
The other humans seemed to accept Danny's story so the halfa didn't worry too much. As long as Andrew didn't figure out he was Phantom.
Maddie stood there in shock as she looked down at her frost covered clothes. This was Danny's power?! It was similar to ice power. Did Danny have ice power too?
She hoped with all of her heart not. Because if Danny were halfghost, and had icepower....of course there were five or six charted ghosts with that ability. But if he has green eyes and white hair too...that narrowed it down to one ghost. It couldn't be. It wasn't possible.
Maddie stopped her train of thought right there. She shouldn't get ahead of herself. Danny might not even have ice powers. And she should probably have more faith in her boy. If he told them he doesn't have a ghost half, then it must be so.
Valerie removed the frost from her hair. She looked at Danny in wonder. "I didn't know you could do this."
Danny pursed his lips. "Nobody does. Please don't tell anyone."
Valerie waved her hand around. "You just told a whole class."
"I know. I meant...the fact that he can do it too."
"He?" Valerie's eyes cleared up. "Oh. Of course not. But I wonder how many secrets you have now."
Danny sighed sadly. "Not many left."
Valerie patted his shoulder. "I'm sure it'll turn out fine. Besides, you have a girlfriend at your side now."
Danny blushed and mumbled. "She's not my girlfriend."
"Hey who's that?" Kwan pointed at a spot farther away in the island.
A small figure stood there.
Danny squinted. "Is that? Wh- it can't be...Dani?"
