Dragon fight

The adolescents ran down the bridge and in between the houses. They pushed away ghosts running in the opposite direction. They hadn't come to this trip to be scooped up inside a room while there were two ghostly dragons fighting outside.

It was easy. They just had to follow the roars and sounds of crashing. When they were close, they saw Dora fly up. She hovered in the air and scowled at the destructions her kingdom was enduring. She had to end this soon, but her brother was powerful. He'd had more years to practice in his dragon form.

Aragon stayed on the ground. He roared up at her. "Renounce your position, Dorathea. You can't win this."

"Never!" She shrieked as she dived down. He was pushed against the ground.

The students peeked from the side of a building. The fight was taking place in the middle of the marketplace.

Kwan looked at the fight in wonder.
Star kneeled on the floor and stuck her head out. She held up her phone and it flashed.

This got the attention of the former prince. He turned his head and glared at the huddled group of humans.

"Seems we have an audience."

He took a step towards them and they shouted and dispersed.

Sheldon didn't know why the heck he had come along. He guessed he was aquiring a sense of adventure. Naturaly Andrew had come after him. Sheldon felt bad now as he saw the boy's panicked face. He kind of felt responsible for him. He took his hand and led them behind a stand, where a ghost would be selling his products if it wasn't for the dragons fighting a few meters in front of it.

He found Kim to be there too.

She was looking at the black dragon in wonder.

They hid silently.

The blue dragon send a wave of fire towards the other to get his attention away from the students.

Aragon grabbed her wing and slammed her on the ground. She grunted but recovered quickly and stood up.

He breathed fire out and she dodged. But many houses were burned instead.

Dora looked panicked and quickly blew the fire out.

Aragon used this as a distraction and scraped his claws at her.

She screamed as they pierced her stomach.

Andrew winced. "What are we gonna do?"

"We should help."

Sheldon looked at Kim in shock as she said those words. "How?"

She stayed quiet.

Sheldon had the idea she was making up a plan.

Kim looked on as Aragon burned a whole street down. Her eyes burned as they reflected the light of the blue flames. She saw what he was doing. Using the fire as a weapon. The princess had to concentrate on two things at once. Kim knew for a fact that women are good at that. But the female dragon was being put under too much pressure.

If only the black dragon couldn't fire anymore.

Her hand slid to her pocket. She fingered the paralizing dart she had ripped off Sheldon's arm. She had kept it the whole time.

Sure she realized it wouldn't work as good now that it was second hand, but if stuck in the right nerve or on a soft skin.....it might still work. Although this was a big dragon. It might only paralize one part.

Her thoughts were broken as Dora fell on the ground next to them. Her head right next to the stand.

"Psst."

Dora's eyes found Kim's.

"I have a plan."

Dora shook her head but Kim wouldn't hear of it. "Trust me. Keep him here and close. If he attacks me, don't fight him."

The princess looked startled but before she could say anything she was ripped away. Aragon dragged her out and slammed her against a few houses.

Sheldon pulled at the Chinese's arm. "What?!"

She shook his hand off. "Stay here. Don't interrupt."

And she stood up and stepped out from behind the stand.

Sheldon made a grab at her but was too late. Andrew held him back.

"Hey, dragon!!" Kim shouted. The black dragon didn't pay her much attention. She huffed. "Hey...ugly!!" She was never good at getting someone's attention. Ask her to sneak into a hunter's den? She could do that. But get the attention of a fighting dragon. Mission impossible.

Suddenly James ran up next to her. She looked at him, surprised. He took a deep breath. "HEY YOU. YES. I'M TALKING TO YOU, UGLY REPTILE."

Aragon froze and slowly turned his head towards the two teenagers standing in the open.

James continued. "YOU KNOW EVEN WITHOUT THE FIRE, YOUR BREATH COULD KILL ME. SERIOUSLY DUDE. GET SOME BREATH MINTS."

Aragon took a step towards them.

"ACTUALLY. YOU MUST BE GREAT AT BARBEQUES."

Aragon had never been as offended. "How dare you insult me, boy. I am a powerful dragon. I could kill in an instant."

James frowned. "YOU'RE A DRAGON? I THOUGHT SOMEONE GLUED WINGS TO THEIR IGUANA."

Aragon's glare could have killed them right there by giving them a heart attack.

James winced. "Too much?"

Kim stared open mouthed. "Actually. I think it's just enough."

And Aragon crouched down. He would've burned them to crisps now if it wasn't for his pride. He wanted them to be afraid.

So he opened his mouth and roared. Centimeters from their trembling bodies. It was an earsplitting roar, that would leave their eardrums ringing for a while.

Dora watched on with caution. The girl had told her to stay back. But was this going according to plan? She would attack if she spotted any small hint of a fight.

Kim forced herself to move. She gripped the dart in her hand. She saw the open mouth right in front of her. Now or never.

And she jumped inside the mouth.

James gasped.

Sheldon and Andrew shrieked.

Maddie and Jack, who had just come around the corner, paled.

Dora froze in shock.

Kim jumped inside.  I was scorching hot and wet. The air hurt her lungs and she thought about how accurate James' insult actually was. She plunged the dart right into the tonge. As far back as she could reach.

Aragon yelped and was about to close his mouth on her.

She looked up in fear as it became darker and darker.

Then she felt a hand on her ankle and she was janked out of the cavern of the mouth.

James had recovered just in time to get her fron the closing jaw.

The pointed teeth met with a snap, inches from her scalp but snagging Kim's long hair and cutting it off with its pointed edges.

Kim yelped as she was thrown backwards. Then she was pulled forward a bit by her hair before it was cut off. She lay on the ground as Aragon reared up and shook his head.

"What is thi?! Wa af yiu on?!"

Aragon struggled as all the feel left his tongue. He growled and spit out the hair but the dart was in pretty deep.

Dora shook out of her stupor to giggle.

Aragon looked at her furiously. He took a deep breath. And blew. He choked. Wisps of fire came out of his mouth but dissipated in the air harmlessly.

Dora's eyes widened. Then she realized what the female human had done. The tongue was an important part in fire breathing. It guides the fire towards the wished target. Without the tongue to aim, fire won't have anywhere to go.

She took advantage of it and rammed into her brother. He humphed as she grabbed him and threw him up.

As expected he hovered in the air. She flew up and past him.

When he looked up at where she was going he found her flying down at him at top speed.

He yelled as she pushed him into the ground.

He lay dizzy for a moment and that was all Dora needed to grab the pendant and yank it off his neck.

Her brother shrank until he was the human that had mistreated her for all those years. In life and afterlife.

"Njoooooooooh," Aragon shouted. He quickly scrambled up and reached for the medallion. Dora held it just out of his reach. She grinned.

Her brother kept shouting curses and Dora had to control herself to not laugh. Then his curses slowly got clearer as the dart lost its touch. He spit in out and stared at it in horror from where it lay on the ground.

Maddie and Jack ran towards Kim and James. Sheldon, Andrew and a few other students had joined in.

Kim lay on the ground. Covered in dragon saliva. Her hair was cut short and wild. A few long strands that hadn't been caught up in the snap hung from her shoulders. The rest stood up in a mess.

Her eyes were trained on one spot in front of her as she panted like she'd just run a relay race.

James shook her. "Kim!! Kim, you ok?"

Kim looked at him.

Kwan kneeled beside her. "Yo. That was awesome. What did you do?"

Sheldon scowled. "That wasn't awesome. That was dangerous. Why did you do that. Do you have a death wish?!"

Maddie crouched in front of her. "Alright. Everyone give her some space. Breathe, Kim."

The girl took a deep breath and nodded. She stood up shakily. The near death experience had shaken her.

"It was a dart I got when me, James and Sheldon went to rescue you."

Sheldon's eyes widened in recognition. "The one that got me in the arm."

She nodded.

Dora, who had heard, smiled. "I thank you for your assistance. That was very brave."

Maddie looked up at the pendant hanging from the dragon's claw. "That's a very dangerous weapon. If I were you, I would destroy it."

Dora seemed perplexed. "Destroy it?!" She had never thought of that.

Aragon looked up in shock at words. "No!!"

"If he gets a hold of it, you might not be able to beat him again," Maddie continued. "Or someone else could misuse it."

Dora looked at the pendant in thought. Her claw tightened around it.

Aragon paled and for the first time in decades, fear sparkled in his eyes.

The princess sniffed at the medallion. "I can't...I can't do it. This is a family relique. It has been a part of us for generations." And the only bond I have with my brother, she added in thoughts. She looked up at the ghost hunter. "Besides, if he gets my pendant, I won't have anything to fight him with."

Aragon slumped in relief. He could've laughed for joy.

Maddie pursed her lips but nodded. She turned to Kim. "Let's get you back to the castle."

They turned to go.

Dora glared at Aragon. "And you will stay in the dungeons for 200 years for the danger you have put this kingdom in."

A few guards appeared to take him away. He yelled, "Wait!! No!!! Unhand me."

The students watched him go. But before he was dragged he shouted something that made Dora stop. "You won without honour!!"

She cocked her head. "What?"

Aragon growled. "It is as three years ago. You can only win with the help of your tiny friends. You couldn't possible defeat me if we fought. Only the two of us."

Dora scrunched her eyebrows together. She clenched the medallion.

The students looked on in fear. What was her answer going to be?

Aragon smirked. "There is no honour in your way of fighting. Just give me the medallion and we will duel."

There was a silence.

Then Dora laughed. "Oh dear brother. I have defeated you. No matter how you see it. I see it as a win. You have lost, brother. I am still in control of the kingdom and you will be locked in the dungeons."

The guards took this as an order and dragged him off. He cursed and struggled, but without his medallion he was a weak old man.

Dora shrinked down and winced at her still aching side where he had scratched her. However, it healed quickly and she grinned at the gaping humans. She had felt so much pleasure at saying that little speech. "Let us get back to the castle." She looked at the disarrayed Kim. "And how does a haircut sound?"

Yeah. Kim. Love that girl.
