Chosen of Death
Harry Potter thinks that he didn't exactly have the best life, but even he thinks that dying alone in a hidden underground chamber from being poisoned by the basilisk is a bit too miserable. As his body flashes hot and cold, he feels a cool hand on his temple and familiar energy pulling the pain away.
For a moment, he sees a familiar figure...
~
That shadowy figure have always been around for as long as Harry can remember. But the catch is that he can only see the figure when he's on the brink of death. If anyone learn about this, they would probably question; just how often did Harry almost died?
More time than Harry cared to count, really.
There was that one time where Uncle Vernon ran him over while he was gardening. He said it was an accident. Harry knew it wasn't. But he grew wary of doing any gardening whenever Vernon's out with the car or about to leave the house. His Aunt was only aghast because had Harry truly died, they will be seen as criminals.
That was the first time he saw the shadow.
Then there was that one time he was starved for two weeks. He still remembered how he tasted ice on his tongue. A large hand cradling the back of his head. Since then, sometimes he found food in his cupboard. Always hidden where his relatives can't see. There were even juice packs!
~
"You are a handful, aren't you? Silly boy,"
Harry opens his eyes, trying not to cling to that soft baritone voice. Every time he tried, he will only be met with disappointment. Still, he will be bitter that the warm voice didn't stay long enough to Harry to greet.
He have so many questions.
Who is he?
Why didn't he take Harry away?
Why care for Harry?
Why feed him when he refused to take Harry with him?
Why leave presents for Harry every important dates?
But Harry had long learned to keep all these deep inside. The last time he asked, the voice said, "I'm sorry. I tried. But the world won't let me. I'm sorry, sweetheart,"
What does he mean by that? Still, Harry will always cherish the way that large cool hand pats his head and play with his hair. It makes him feel wanted. For an orphan like Harry, that is all he ever wanted.
~
When people told Harry that he looks like James, he wonders if they are seeing him right. His hair is messy, true, but it is pure black. Not dark brown like James'. And he thinks his face shape is nothing like James' square shape. It is actually a bit more austere than what he'd seen of the man in the pictures that Hagrid compiled for him. And his eyes might be green but he thinks that it is a bit more vivid that his mother's eyes. Hers are like the forest in spring.
His reminds him of the uranium painted antiques in the second hand shops. Sometimes he swear they glows.
But maybe it is just him. He knows that his parents love him but...but what if he isn't really a Potter?
Harry huffs, shaking his mind clear of such nonsense while he claps at the end of his Second Year for surviving another school year with Voldemort's shenanigans.
Can't the man just stay dead?

Harry likes hanging out with Hayven and Loki. They are brothers, apparently, even if the gossiping women of Little Whinging whispers that they are a gay couple. But whenever the matter was brought up, both had a look of pure disgust on their faces. Hayven even insists that he's married to a woman. Apparently she died of a natural disaster and now he's searching for his missing son that had apparently been separated from him.
Although Harry can understand the skepticism as neither look like the other. Other than the shape of their faces, both having a rather fey kind of expression, one have blond hair, bright blue eyes and average height of 5 foot 10, the other have pure black hair, bright green eyes and towers over most people at 6 foot 4.When asked, they said that they met by pure accident as they are both born from the same sperm donor.
Basically, different mothers.
But their complicated background aside, they are the nicest people in Surrey as far as Harry cared. Growing up, Hayven and Loki will bother his relatives to have him over to 'help around the house' and that 'help around the house' is actually reading up on arcane things. Before Hogwarts, Harry already know of magic through these two. Although Hayven are more practiced in Asian style magic while Loki is more into runes, it helps with Harry's own growing magic.
Which is why, he insists on Rune and Arithmetic starting Third Year instead of the easier electives like Ron wanted since he already have some tentative understanding of both.
But still, he thinks he shouldn't bother them after blowing up his Aunt Marge. But of course, the due will find him either way...by pure happenstance too after he saw a giant mutt behind him.
Hayven asks him, "Harry? What are you doing on the ground?"
Harry looks at him, "Uh..."
Loki shifts the paper bag of groceries on his hip, "And what's with the bag?"
Harry sheepishly looks down, "W-well..."
Loki huffs, "Out with it!"
Harry grimaces before vomiting out his reason in a string of words, "I blew up Aunt Marge and now I'm running away because I'm expelled from Hogwarts,"
The duo shares a look before Hayven sighs, "Come on. Up with you. I am sure if you write a letter to whoever is in charge, they'll understand that it is a complete accident,"
Harry frowns as Hayven just picks his luggage, "But I blew her up! I already got a letter for last year's Hovering Charm and it isn't even me who did it!"
Loki raises a hand, "Fine. I'll take the fall,"
Harry blushes, "What?! No! Why would you do that?!"
Loki pats his head before ruffling his hair, much to his chagrin, "Because I can, you little crow,"
Harry swats his hand away, scowling, "Don't call me a crow! What about me makes you think I'm a crow?!"
As Loki distracts him by annoying him, Hayven takes his luggage with him and makes his way back to their home. Before Harry realizes it, he's in their home and being fed dinner. Honestly. He actually grow since the brothers all but adopt him and feed him against his relative's wishes.
Well, they can't stop them. Not with Hayven blackmailing Vernon about his company's misconduct and Petunia about her blatant neglect of her son's health. The CPS might just break their family apart. As for how he knows? Apparently, he and Loki are something like Sherlock Holmes and Watson.
As he sleeps in the guest room that somehow have all the things that they know he likes, Harry ponders about what he should do after and where he can go next.
~
Well, he's in school. He's not expelled. It takes a moment for the important people to find him and informs him about the escaped convict Sirius Black apparently seeking him. To do what? Well, every suspects that he's out to kill Harry for the Dark Lord.
Funny thing is, they only found him when he's out having breakfast with Loki and Hayven. It seems that the brothers have very powerful spells that makes it impossible for people to find them if they don't want to be found. Yet they are easily found by Muggles.
When asked, Loki says, "That's the beauty of runes. It can detect that smallest amount of magic and reject that person. In another word, unless we know you personally and like you, you will never be able to find us,"
Neat.
Unfortunately, what Loki did is considered mastery the level of ancient magical cities like Atlantis. Harry will not be able to do anything like it anytime soon. Even Prof Babbling is beyond impressed. If anything, she is humbled by the kind of knowledge that Loki shared with Harry. The downside is that Hermione have been pestering him to connect her with Loki.
Unfortunately for her, Loki is exactly like his name;
[Dedicate to me an act of mischief and I might consider giving you crumbs]
Needless to say, Fred and George are quick to take up on that. As promised, Loki have been exchanging letters with them. Hermione have never been more torn in her life between knowledge and sticking to the rules.

Harry made up his mind that he hates Dementors. The first time on the train is already bad enough. Now it's sucking him out of the sky. But oddly enough, he always thought he heard the soft baritone voice comforting him that he'll be fine. Since that day, however, he's learning how to defend himself.
He thought he saw the silhouette of a dragon but maybe that's just him.
Now, he is hoping that the baritone voice will hold true as he struggles to keep both himself and Sirius safe from these soul sucking monsters.
He found that he's not disappointed.
That voice, that shadow, will always be there when Harry needs him the most.
"Touch him and his and you will see that you are not the only thing in this world that can rip a soul apart. I dare you, mongrels,"
~
Can anyone blame Harry for crying when he sees Sirius's dog form living with Hayven and Loki?
No. No, they can't.

Minato curses as the Quidditch Tournament turns from festive into a horror show. He leaves dealing with the troublemakers to Loki. The worst he will do is embarrass them. The worse Minato will do is disassemble them. Not something he wants to attract attention for. Instead, he focus on keeping them away from Harry and his friends. Although he can tell that Sirius wants to fight, he had informed the wizard in disguise that under no circumstances can he reveal himself or he will have to leave Harry's side.
So he flits around the small forest, making sure that their youngest and most problematic member safe. However, even he does not expect for the kind of blatant cruelty they will show to the Muggle owner and his family. Fortunately, Loki is on the case and managed to first rescue their children before helping with the adults.
Minato is no stranger to cruelty. But at least he's more familiar to cruelty on the battlefield, cruelties that have a purpose beyond amusement. Clearly, their latest enemy isn't someone that can be reasoned with. Death will be too kind an end for them. However, he reels in his temper before it gets the better of him. He needs to focus on Harry and his safety. It is too young for the boy to truly meet Father...

TriWizard Tournament is a mess, Loki decided. How can they not be suspicious that someone that should have no way of putting his name into the artifact called Goblet of Fire somehow managed to do so without any knowledge on his part? When Harry wrote to him what had happened, both he and Minato, so far removed from Hogwarts, can smell the stench of a scheme.
So now they are camping in Hogsmeade to keep Harry's morale up. Of course, they have curious reporters to repel and what is Loki's greatest skill if not leading people up the garden trail and off the cliff? Well, not really off the cliff but they are certainly given a different trail to follow; away from their temporary home.
However, upon hearing Harry's first problem, Loki rolls his eyes, "The eyes, little crow. Or you can be a daredevil and kill it from the inside by letting it swallow you,"
Harry pulls a face, "I'm not going to get myself eaten by a dragon!"
A few weeks later, he's arguing with Loki about the Golden Egg. Loki told him to jump into the Black Lake and the boy pouted, saying that he's not going to drown himself to amuse Loki. Only to later learn that he would have been better prepared had he done as told by the older man.
Loki smirks as he continues to needle the boy. Oh, he do love messing with his brothers. Especially when they are wholly unaware of their relationship.

Danny is furious. He is furious with the so called Britain Wizarding Government for being so incompetent. His son almost died and what did they do? They are more concerned at making themselves look good while hiding their collective heads so far up their asses that they would throw an innocent boy under the bus!
That is not politic!
He erodes the paper in his hand, growling, "What useless cowards,"
He can already see what Harry's enemy will do. He snarls as he pace his office, frost creeping everywhere. At that moment, Clockwork appears, "You are the King of Chaos, Daniel. Even if young Harry have to go through his ordeals before he can join you, it doesn't mean that you cannot go to him,"
Danny levels a feral look on his mentor, "You told me that I cannot meddle!"
Clockwork nods, "It wasn't time then,"
Danny rubs his face, "Fine, you old clock. How am I supposed to go about this?"
"Join the Order as a mysterious benefactor,"

Loki and Hayven are saviors, Harry decided, saviors of his sanity. He is going insane from the lack of news and all. Sirius are also missing from their house. But Hayven have been keeping Harry on his toes by throwing random projectiles. Loki is also training him how to use magic without wand. Harry isn't very good with it but that's okay. As long as he's not thinking of his strange dreams.
When he told Hayven one morning after a particularly nasty dream, Hayven looks troubled, "Harry. Being able to see through the eyes of your enemy might sound like a boon. But remember, if you can see through their eyes, who to say that they can't see through yours,"
Harry pales, "What am I going to do then?"
Hayven suddenly sits on the ground and pats the floor across from him, "Sit. I'm going to teach you how to meditate. The art of the mind takes a lot of patience. But consider this as preparation for when Loki decides to teach you how to defend yourself from mental intrusion,"
Harry blinks, "Huh?"
Hayven smiles, "Loki have been mentioning about training you in the art. Now, let's get started!"

Fifth Year is crazy. Harry thought that he will die. He thought he lost Sirius. He thought that this is it. That this is the final battle with Voldemort. Then...the shadowy figure appears. Just like he did at the graveyard, keeping him calm and taking his pain away from him. Except, he isn't a shadow. He's tall and his stature is intimidating, dressed sharply in black and white with purple tassels. There are a pair of magnificent horns on his head. But above all, he is beyond angry.
Voldemort threatens him, "I don't know who you are but you are in my way,"
The tall man sneers, "What kind of father would I be if I stand aside? If James won't for a child that is not even his, then I won't either," His hand glows the green of the Killing Curse, "Your days end here, Tom,"
Voldemort's white face turns even more sickly white, "Don't you dare call me by that name!"
Dumbledore appears but even he pause at the sight of the stranger. Harry notice Hayven and Loki along with two more men. But these two looks even more outlandish, with their horns and wings as well as their long white hair. But even Harry can feel power from them. Also, Loki is different, somehow. He's not different in appearance but rather the air he carries around himself is nothing like the one Harry was familiar with.
The man laughs, "Hear ye, all you pure blooded inbred bigots! Your so called Dark Lord was born Tom Marvolo Riddle. Though it's true that he descended from Salazar Slytherin himself, his mother dearest, barely a witch and almost a Squib, enticed a muggle man and make him hers with potions. When she made the mistake thinking that worship born of aphrodisiac can become love, he left her to rot! Your beloved Dark Lord is nothing more than a half blooded psycho!"
Voldemort screams at him for the shocking revelation but the man simply grabs his face while he was busy casting spell, his movements quick like a shadow, turning him to ice and shattering him. On that day, Voldemort die once more. It is only when it is over did Harry notice that the two more strangers are holding things in their hands. Also, a very dead snake in Loki's hand.
Dumbledore sighs in relief, "They found it all...it's over..."
~
Harry sits in a room with the man that have been his guardian angel for as long as he can remember. Although the revelation about their relation at the Ministry was shocking, Harry can't find it in him to be angry. If anything, he is actually happy to learn the Hayven, or Minato, and Loki are really his brothers.
He asks, "Why didn't you take me away?"
Danny, his real father, sighs, "Because your presence have an impact to the Fate of this world. There is apparently a prophecy about you. I cannot just take you out without damaging the world. I have a duty to preserve it, after all. However, when Tom used your blood to create his own body, I have a reason to interfere. Now only are you my son, but my blood is not something that this world can play around with," He adds, "Besides, it will be harder to defeat him if he's not even a shade. Not to mention his pesky Horcruxes. We need to gather them and destroy them. So, I have been working with Albus behind the scene. He is wary of revealing his hands due to the one in your head as well as magic making trusting people complicated,"
Harry touches his head, "My head? Then..."
Danny smiles, "It's gone. Part of the reason why Minato and Loki are always inviting you over is to help cleanse and exorcise the taint inside you. Suffice to say, it works but Tom's revival somehow causes the two of you to be able to see into each other's head. But now that he's properly gone, you are in the clear,"
Harry nods before asking, "So...did my mom cheated?"
Danny sighs, "No. Rather, your dear father and Sirius made a mistake. Ah, Sirius is alive, don't worry," Before Harry can even process that, he continues, "You see, I was shattered by an Eldritch abomination and one of my pieces ended up in this world. However, that piece is more like a mindless doppelganger. So, during the Potter's honeymoon, James and Sirius somehow become involves in a certain case. So James summoned that piece of me to replace him so Lily won't suspect a thing. Needless to say, honeymoon and wives means...a baby," He grimaces.
