Chapter 2: Mastering The Art Of A Miracle.
"Hello, Lizzie."
Elizabeth gulped quite hard and watched as the ringed hand pulled away from her face.
"N-no it.. it can't be.." She whispered.
Elizabeth could not believe her eyes, or her ears. She slowly reached up and placed a hand on his cheek, cautious at first.
"Is it r-really you?" She asked. Nothing was making any sense to the poor girl. Why James had killed her parents, why he killed her beloved nanny. She didn't understand.
"It's me Elizabeth, I am here to help you." Ciel whispered.
Elizabeth quickly pulled her hand away from his face in horror as she realized what he meant.
"C..Ciel?" Elizabeth stuttered. "Y-you're a, a d...demon?"
A frown grew across his face. "Yes Elizabeth, I know all of this is confusing and I will explain all of it later. But you did call for a demon after all, so, would you like to form a contract?"
Elizabeth looked down at the floor pondering at everything that had taken place. Paula, her parents, and now this? She started to sob trying to put the pieces together.
"Y-yes, Ciel. I would like to form a contract." She slowly gained confidence as she stood. She was shaky at first, but she found her balance.
"And what will your wish be, Elizabeth?" Ciel asked while standing up as well.
"I want you to turn me!" She shouted.
Ciel took a step back and shook his head. "No Lizzie I ca-"
"It's an order Ciel!" She said angrily. "You left me a year ago! You left me wondering! You left me worried sick Ciel! You, you left me..." She whispered as she began to cry again. After Ciel had left, Elizabeth became extremely depressed, she wasn't sure how to show her emotions, so she spent most of her days crying.
Ciel knealt down on one knee and placed a hand over his heart with a pained expression. He didn't want to turn her, but since she agreed to a contract, he had to do as she said.
"Yes, my Lady." He whispered. "Where would you like our contract symbol?"
"My neck." She said without thinking twice. "And I do not wish to have you as my butler, I wish to have you back, as my Ciel." She whispered.
Ciel raised a brow and stood up. "As you wish my Lady."
Elizabeth took a short moment to prepare herself for what would come to her.
Ciel slowly reached his head down and brushed her hair away from her neck. Her skin was so soft and pale. So tempting.
"Will it hurt?" She trembled.
Ciel paused for a moment. "I will be as gentle as I can. Do not move."
She nodded her head shakingly. He leaned in and licked the surface of her soft pale skin, sending a shiver up and down her body.
He elongated his fangs and bit down as gently as he could and started to drink the red liquid that filled her body. She let out a pained moan and grabbed his shoulder. Ciel found that he could not stop himself from consuming more blood than needed.
He drank until he felt her body start to go limp. She let out a soft whimper as he fought himself. Ger hand fell to his own, pulling himself out of his consumption. He lapped up the blood that pooled around her fresh wound.
He pulled away as his contract symbol slowly burned onto her skin, causing her to groan once more.
"Shhhh, it is alright Lizzie. We will be home soon." He whispered in her ear.
Elizabeth started to fall asleep, but she tried to fight it.
"Do not fight it Lizzie, just go to sleep. Everything is going to be alright. Shhhh." He cooed in her ear.
She slowly nodded her head and watched as the world around her turned to black.
Ciel chuckled and waved his hand, melting away the black and returning to reality.
James was still standing beside the carriage, frozen in shock.
Ciel stepped over Paula and looked around at the scene before him and grimaced at the sight.
"W-who are y-you!" James stuttered after unfreezing a bit.
Ciel rolled his eyes and jumped above him, kicking him in the face. James fell to the ground with a thud, fear lacing his eyes. Ciel landed on the ground gracefully, with Elizabeth still cradled in his arms. He reached down and grabbed James by the throat.
"If you ever lay one hand on my dear Lizzie, I will rip your putrid throat out and feed it to a wild boar. Is that understood?" Ciel hissed at the coward.
James cackled in pain as he scratched towards his neck deprived of air. He nodded his head vigurously and stared into Ciel's deep crimson eyes.
Ciel laughed and stood up. "You are a fool."
He hadn't even noticed Sebastian until he turned his head to see his butler bowed before him.
"Very good, young master." He said.
Ciel nodded his head and began to walk back to his former manor. After they had disappeared, Sebastian had found an abandoned manor that they lived in for almost a year.
Sebastian stood up and furrowed his brows. "Young master, may I ask where you are going?"
"I am returning to my mansion, I would say it is safe to return considering Elizabeth knows I am alive." He stated.
Sebastian nodded his head. "Very well my Lord."
The walk back to the Phantomhive manor took a bit longer as to running, but Ciel preferred walking. Even then, it only took a few moments.
When they reached the driveway, their eyes widened. The grounds were completely covered with weeds and wild flowers. The outside walls of the manor seemed to duller than before. The flowers were wilted and dead. Sebastian placed a finger on his temple in annoyance. "My my, this place has gone to hell. It will take quite sometime to clean it up."
When they arrived at the door, Ciel snapped his fingers and the front door flew wide open. Familiar scents along with foreign ones danced around their noses.
"This place is a disaster, Sebastian," He said turning to his butler. "Clean this up at once."
Sebastian placed a hand over his heart in a bow, not even bothering to kneel in the filth. "Right away, young master."
He stood up and walked out of the room to collect his cleaning supplies.
Ciel looked around his manor and shook his head. He slowly climbed the stairs, taking in the surroundings.
The paint on the walls were chipped and wallpaper peeled off. There was dust everywhere, not to mention the gaping hole in the center of the staircase, which Ciel easily jumped over.
When he reached the top of the stairs, he made his way to his old room. The hallways were even worse than the lobby, as if that were possible. He arrived at the double mahogany doors and opened them with the snap of his fingers.
His eyes widened at his room. Nothing had changed or aged, not even the paint on the walls. It was as if someone were preserving the whole room for his return.
He looked down at his dear Elizabeth assuming who the culprit was and placed a loving hand on the apple of her cheek. A small smile grew across her sleeping face.
He walked to the bed and pulled the blankets back and gently laid her down. He sat beside her and caressed her long blonde hair.
Ciel had missed his dear Elizabeth oh so much. He thought of her everyday of his new life. He longed to hold her soft little hand. He missed teaching her to play chess and conversations at tea. Things he used to do when they were together.
He thought about the day when she snatched up his beloved ring and threw it to the ground in pieces. How he almost struck her. That memory pained him for quite sometime.
He placed a kiss on her forehead and held her small hand.
"I will never allow for anything to harm you, every again. As long as I am still breathing. "
