(Dan's Pov)

I remember like it happened 15 minutes ago. Too clear, and too painful. I walked to (y/n) house that grey cloudy morning. I knocked on the door and she opened it, greeting me with a smile. "Ready to go," I smiled. "Yeah, let me just get my umbrella," she smiled back. "Here we can just share mine. The weather man wasn't even sure it was going to rain today or tonight. No need to bring it, if ya don't need it," I assured. "Ok," she agreed.

As we walked I felt my heart speed up. Why am I always so nervous around her. I looked at her smiling out of the corner of my eye and I felt warm. I was so genuinely happy. "Dan, I've been wondering if you wanted to hang out tomorrow after school," she asked meekly, almost too quiet for me to hear. "Sure. What did you have in mind," I asked excitedly. "Um I don't know.... how about (casual activity)," she replied. "Sounds fun. Alright it's a date," I said before I could stop myself and we both blushed bright red! "I mean uh," I babbled on till she started laughing and I joined her.

We got to class and when I came back from lunch, I sat down and waited for class to start. I froze when (y/n) walked in the room. She had a small faint purple spot on her cheek. It could be nothing but she didn't look as happy as she normally did.

When class was over, "hey can I talk to you for a min," I asked. "Uh sure. What's up. We need to get home before it rains," she smiled. "What's with the purple spot? And why were you late coming in. I thought you just went to the bathroom," I asked. I didn't know whether I overwelled her with questions or not but she went quiet. Then forced a smile and said, "oh I just fell." I didn't believe her. Something about how she was acting was off.

With my thumb I touched the spot and she winced. I rubbed off the makeup to reveal a big purple bruise. I tensed up. "Who did it," I asked. "I fell and I-" "who. Did. It." I said enunciating each word. She went quiet and I glared into her eyes. "WHO. DID. IT." I said pissed! "(Name), they saw me come out of the bathroom and-," I didn't giver time to finish. I put the umbrella down for her and I ran to find them. I knew where they lived because I had to do a project at their house before. The rain soon had me soaked. Lucky I gave her the umbrella. I was in such a rage that I didn't notice the light turn green.

Then my world was silenced with a car crash.

I woke up in a ball of light. I had a question spoken to me in a warm voice. "Go or stay?" I had no idea what was going on. I thought about it when it repeated. "Go or stay?" Is it talking about here? Suddenly (y/n) flashed in my mind. "(y/n)! I have to go!" I yelled and the light dimmed. When I opened my eyes again I was laying on the street. Weird? What the hell happened. I saw (y/n) slowly making her way home. she looked like she'd been crying! Damn it! I ran to her; yet she didn't even notice me. I stood a ways in front of her ready to apologize.... then it happened, she literally walked right through me! I freaked out patting my body!
