Chapter 21

The Avengers made their way through the compound quietly. The red lights were still blaring but the alarm had been turned off.

Clint and Natasha were together and the rest of the team had split into groups of two but Natasha and Clint were both tied to this mission. They knew how to keep each other in check though.

The two of them were walking through compound, Clint with an arrow ready and Natasha had her gun at the ready.

Andy had fallen unconscious again and Alex was hiding behind the table of weapons, figuring she could ambush whoever came into the room.

Natasha crept into the room and saw Andy laying on the table, she held an arm out to keep Clint from running to her, knowing something else was in this room. She held her gun out and moved around the table in front of her as Clint went around the other side of the table.

Alex heard soft footsteps and smirked to herself as she aimed the gun in her hand towards one side of the table.

Natasha saw a figure crouched down against the table and stopped, causing Clint to stop as well. She pointed towards the table and Clint saw her as well.

"Alex." Clint mouthed to Natasha and both of them nodded as they continued to move forward.

"If you move I will shoot you." Clint said from behind Alex and she turned around to see him.

"Oh hello Clint." Alex smirked as she stood up and aimed her gun at him. "You came for your precious Andrea?" She added as she heard a click behind her head.

"If you even think about moving you will be dead before you hit either one of us." Natasha said and Alex put her hands up to signal a surrender.

"Do you two really think I would be here alone while I'm guarding her?" Alex asked as someone entered the room causing the two assassins look at each other.

Natasha nodded at Clint as she turned her gun to the new person in the room.

"Good to see you Natasha." The woman said and Natasha clenched her jaw, not ever wanting to see her again.

"I could say the same to you but I don't want to lie to you." Natasha sneered as the woman started to walk towards Andy.

Natasha followed the woman with her gun and Alex smirked at Clint, knowing what the woman was doing.

"I am greatly disappointed in you." The woman said and Natasha rolled her eyes.

"Yes because I'm not killing people out of spite and killing people for your agenda. I'm saving peoples lives by killing people like you." Natasha explained and Alex looked towards the woman who was on the other side of the metal table Andy is laying on.

"She could've been such an asset, but she may have to die now." The woman said looking down at Andy and softly touching her cheek.

"Don't you dare touch her." Clint growled at the woman and she just smiled as she looked over to Clint.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Hawkeye. I really hope you don't mind that I borrowed your little girlfriend." The woman said with a smile on her face.

Clint gripped his bow harder and kept his eyes on Alex, knowing if he moved his attention to the woman, Alex would most likely attack him.

"She gave up. She gave into the pain and said yes to being apart of the program." Alex explained, the smirk still on her face.

"You were torturing her. Shut your mouth." Clint growled at Alex, tightening his grip on the arrow even more.

"She still gave in, I thought she would have died before she gave in." Alex taunted and Clint had enough of her.

Clint let his arrow go and it planted itself in Alex's chest, right through her heart. Alex's eyes widened as she stumbled back a little and fell to the ground. The last thing she did was lift her gun just a little bit and shot towards Clint.

Hawkeye's hands went to his leg and groaned in pain as Alex shot through his leg. "Bitch." Clint muttered as he stood back up, his weight on the other foot. He pulled another arrow from his quiver and put it back on his bow, wincing in pain.

"Guys Clint's hit and Alex is down. We need some back up in here though. Found her." Natasha said to her ear piece and the woman turned towards her.

"Do you really think your team can save her?" The woman asked and the pair of assassins just looked at her. "She may be beyond repair. She's been unconscious for awhile now and still hasn't woken up. Do you really think she would be okay without out help?" The woman asked and Clint glanced towards the door, hoping someone would get here soon.

"We have the best medical technology in the world, she's going to be just fine." Natasha explained and the woman actually laughed.

"Do you think your technology can heal this girl?" The woman asked as Steve and Bucky walked into the room, aiming their guns at the woman.

"Where's Alex?" Bucky asked and Natasha pointed to the ground and the two of them nodded as they walked over next to Natasha and Clint.

"Hello super soldiers, good to see you again Sargent Barnes." The woman said to Bucky and he tensed up.

"You don't get to call me that." Bucky said and moved his finger to the trigger.

"He's right, you don't get to call him that." The injured girl on the metal table groaned as she sat up, free of the wrist bonds that had once held her. "You don't get to call me anything either. You don't get to say Bucky's real name, or even Bucky. You don't deserve that privilege." Andy said, ignoring the pain radiating through her body as she moved off the table slowly and limped towards the woman.

The woman looked at Andy as she walked towards her and smiled. "Good to know you're strong enough to get through the pain." The woman said and Andy rolled her eyes as she held her hand to the side. Natasha threw the gun in her hand to Andy and pulled another one from the holster on her thigh.

Andy aimed the gun at the woman and smiled a little. "Good to know I can get rid of my nightmare." She said.

The woman smiled and nodded. "Of course you can Andrea." The woman said as she took a step towards Andy, pulling out a small dagger and stabbing the injured girl in the side.

Andy gasped as she squeezed the trigger causing the woman to jolt backwards and fall. The injured girl dropped the gun and slowly pulled the dagger out of her side as she began to fall backwards.

Clint dropped his bow and the arrow and ran to catch Andy before she hit the ground. He caught her gently in his arms and gently picked her up.

"Hey there ghost." Clint said softly as he looked back at the tea who was in the room. Natasha had picked up the bow an arrow on the ground.

Andy smiled a little as she winced in pain and put her head against Clint's chest.

"Come on, let's get her to Bruce." Steve said and the other three nodded before following Steve out of the room.

"You're not going to leave me here. You're going to make it, you're going to be okay." Clint reassured Andy quietly as they made their way out of the compound and towards the jet.

Clint ignored the pain in his leg as he made his way into the jet and placed Andy onto the stretcher they brought for her.

"Clint you need to sit down, we need to check your leg out." Natasha said as she tried to push him towards a chair but he didn't move.

"Check it out here." Is all he said as he gently held Andy's hand as Bruce started to work on Andy and asses her injuries.

Natasha nodded a little bit as Steve and Natasha knelt down and asses his leg.

"Come on Andy, you can do this." Clint whispered as Andy smiled gently to him for the last time as her eyes fluttered closed and she drifted into unconsciousness once again.
