  Hailey woke up to hear her father's talking while making breakfast. She could hear thier voices, the gentle ones that calmed her to sleep, seemed stressed out.
"Dan, come on. I know it's mothers day but should we stop her from celebrating this?" Phils sweet voice asked Dan. Dan sighed loudly and Phil leaned over to give him a hug. Phil knew how these gender specific holidays made him feel. They had no choice but to just pretend it was a normal day. They had no idea how this would impact Hailey.
    Hailey stood in the hallway before walking into the kitchen. She was holding a zebra picture in her hand. It looked more like a bunch of scribbles than an animal. She felt bad that her father's were upset.
"Daddy!" Hailey shrieked holding up the picture. Dan gasped in delight. He really loved his little girl. He picked Hailey up while Phil put the picture on the fridge.
"Ah who's my little girl!" Dan cooed while Hailey giggled like crazy. Phil stood back and smiled at the two. They really were his family. No holiday will change that.
