Rainy Day
Dan's POV:
Rainy days weren't particularly horrendous as it was raining practically every single day in England but there were certain types of precipitation where you can class it as a rainy day. Today for example, I can physically see the rain hanging from my window and dripping down onto the cold concrete below and falling into the cracks beneath it. The atmosphere suddenly felt more natural than usual but colder. The TV also acted like an asshole too.
"Another rainy day, Dan?" Phil perked up whilst handing me a cup of tea as we both gazed out the window, mesmorised by a sight we see very often.
"Unfortunately so, Phil." I replied with whilst standing up to go to my room but not before I heard the question,
"Why unfortunately?"
I hesitated for a moment as I tried to think of an answer but Phil wasn't wrong to call out the fact that I had called a rainy day unfortunate.
"Also, Dan, you never go outside so it wouldn't affect your day whatsoever." Phil added whilst taking a sip from his steamy cup of tea and sat down on the sofa as he turned the TV on to see that there was no signal and huffed.
"Nevermind." Phil said, being fully aware that he wasn't always correct.
"You know, actually there's nothing wrong with a rainy day. It means I get to spend more time with you indoors and we don't have to do outdoors stuff." I say trying to be helpful but sounding like a complete idiot.
"That didn't make any sense but I understand what you mean. Sit next to me, I'll try to pop in a movie for us to watch instead since all the channels are down." Phil pounced off the sofa to grab any movie (choosing Mean Girls) and inserted it into the CD player and yanked the blanket from the other sofa and placed it over me carefully. Phil had then disappeared but I decided I would skip the introduction of the movie as we had watched it previously so it'd be a waste of time. I pressed pause right after the first moment the audience was introduced to Regina George. I then took my attention outside by staring at the window again and witnessed that it had gotten much more drastic than before. It was enjoyable to gaze at but also quite taunting in a way. I heard the microwave make a 'ding' noise which brought me back to reality and it had hit me that Phil had gone to prepare some snacks for the pair of us.
He came back into the room with a handful of snacks from Doritos to popcorn to even leftover pepperoni pizza.
Midway through the movie I had heard Phil say,
"I do love a rainy day."
In which I replied with a small kiss to his cheek and said,
"Rainy days aren't bad after all."
