~ You Can Try . . .
You Can Try . . .
Summary: Phil is an assassin. Dan Howell is the target.
Words: 5851
Phil entered the room, wary of the two soldiers either side of the man who had requested his presence. Despite the threat of guns he let the arrogant smirk take over his face and sat down on the opposite end of the table, feet up.
"What can I help you with?" He asked, glowing with his usual confidence.
"I hear you have quite a reputation . . ." Director Thomson started, hands clasped neatly in front of him. "You work for a lot of different people so I presume you don't have a preference and are open to all offers?" He asked expectantly.
"Of course." Phil replied, curious as to where the conversation was heading. Besides, this was America's director of the FBI and secret agencies for American spies. What could he possibly require from an assassin like Phil Lester?
"Good. Well I should probably go into a little detail."
"Please do."
"Well. Britain has been in the leading of spy of the year for five years running now. Britain. A tiny section of the size of America and I don't like it. They're crime rates are so low it is almost impossible. It's not everyone though ... they have a secret weapon!" He started, sounding pissed off. A folder was passed down the table and Phil opened it up to see the profile of a British agent. Phil's eyes widened and the smirk only grew on his face.
"Oh." Phil smirked, knowing exactly why the Director had called him all the way to New York,
"Daniel Howell, the best damn agent they have. He's incredibly good, never leaves an investigation unfinished whether it takes him weeks, months, years. He's good. Too good. I understand you do a little work in ... seduction?" Smirk never leaving Phil's face, he chuckled and nodded arrogantly. "Now we want you to do any of the following three things. One, get him to join us. Two, Get him to quit, seduce him, become his friend, flatter him, whatever it requires. And Three, distract him. Distract him to the point where he falters and his reputation comes down. I will not lose this award to that country for a sixth time!" He growled.
"This seems like an awful lot of work for a lousy award." Phil commented.
"Mr Lester, America is a very powerful country and it is not good for our reputation. A war will come one day and if the UK is seen as one of the most powerful countries they'll see us as livestock and attack us first. I'm thinking about the country without having to go to war." He replied gruffly and taking a smoke of the cigar that a soldier had passed to him.
"I see. Well, I'll see what I can do ... Daniel Howell may be an impressive agent, but I also haven't ever failed an assignment yet so we'll see how this turns out. If it is unsuccessful I will get back to you and you can cook up a plan B." Phil grinned.
"I expect not to have to prepare for a plan B Mr Lester." The Director narrowed his eyes.
"I'll do my best." Phil waved and left the room, folder tucked neatly under his arm. Time to get a flight back to England ...

Phil sat in Starbucks, sipping his caramel macciato. He had constantly been fixing his hair. He had recently dyed it black for the mission, he needed a new look. He usually changed subtle things in each assignment in case someone was to recognize him.
He was looking through Daniel's file. He studied him closely, looking for any little detail which could help him. Any weaknesses. Daniel had no family, his parents died when he was young and he was an only child. So he wouldn't be able to get to him through family if it became desperate. His location was unknown so he was well hidden, he didn't have many friends, only people in the agency and he was single and lived alone.
Phil let out a frustrated sigh which didn't happen often. He was well protected from being hurt. It was like he planned for all of it, that no one would be able to find his weakness. Phil breathed in, he was good at what he did. He was the world's best seducer, men and woman. He's done stuff like this a million times. Gotten agents to fall in love with him, seduce them, then execute the final faze whether it was assassination or getting them to step down from what they did. Phil didn't kill too many people but he wasn't a bad guy or a good guy. He just did his job.
He studied the profile for a moment longer before giving up for the day. He looked at the picture so he knew exactly what to look out for. He had heard about Daniel Howell many times but had never seen a picture of him. Judging by the angle of the rather flattering photo, he was tall and slim. His skin was a peachy pale, weirdly flawless which no blemishes or spots in sight. His hair was a mocha brown cut in a swept fringe over his forehead to the left and his eyes were a rich coffee brown which could have been hazel judging by a thin rim of green. A noticeable dimple poked out on one of his cheeks cutely. He would have looked innocent if it wasn't more the smirk plastered on his pink lips. Howell was very attractive, no doubt about it.
Phil had managed to work out that Daniel would be leaving for Starbucks around that time, thanks to a hacked phone call to his boss about his day off. He had to be quick however because they had high detecting gear which could have picked up on Phil's hack any second. He was lucky though.
I hid the file in his bag, and tucked it neatly under the table whilst watching the door. He had a plan and once Phil gave he signal it would all go into action. After a five minute wait and a few people coming and going, the door opened. In walked Daniel Howell in all his glory. Phil couldn't help let his eyes roam Daniel's body shamelessly. This is going to be fun. Phil thought, grinning as he watched Daniel walk up to the counter through the reflection in the window. Howell was smart so he had to be subtle.
As he saw that Daniel had ordered he quickly got his phone out and pressed send to the text which was already a saved draft. He smirked, finishing the last of his coffee and waiting ...
*SMASH* Went the front door. Two men in ski masks barged in, guns in hand, shouting harsh words. Phil didn't panic but pretended to be scared and looked up which a frightened expression. The guy wave him a subtle wink which couldn't be seen by anyone else in the cafe. Suddenly he lunged forward and grabbed Phil by the front of his shirt, pushing the barrel of the gun to his temple. Phil pretended to struggle and whimper.
He looked around with wide blue eyes and looked to see Dan, standing calmly in the corner, sipping his coffee whilst the others freaked out. Phil could feel himself get frustrated, why wasn't he doing anything? "ALRIGHT! YOU HAVE FIVE MINUTES TO GIVE US ALL THE MONEY IN THE REGISTER OR THIS ONE WILL HAVE A HOLE IN HIS HEAD, THEN EVERYONE ELSE ONE BY ONE.
Phil made a show of breathing fast and gulping, putting his terrified face on. He felt relieved when Howell actually started to move towards them. The Barista was trying hard to put all the money in the bag provided whilst one of the men waited impatiently.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? DO YOU WANT ME TO SHOOT YOU?" The man holding Phil growled as Daniel approached them.
"There's no need for that." Dan replied calmly, his voice smooth and calming like silk.
"What are you-" but before he could finish there was a gunshot and Phil panicked for a second in case they shot his target. He was shocked to find the grip surrounding him slack until the man was laying limp on the floor. He barely had time to take it in when another shot was fired and the other man fell to the floor. Phil didn't expect Daniel to be so brutal, did he need to kill them?
"Don't worry." Daniel said, flashing his badge to the people around him who relaxed in relief.
"Did you kill them?" A woman asked.
"No, it was a tranquilizer. They need to go on trial before their sentence is decided." Daniel explained.
"Oh." replied the woman. Daniel then turned to Phil who was relieved that his colleagues haden't been murdered before his eyes for an assignment.
"Are you okay?" Daniel asked, walking closer to Phil who composed himself, pretending to act a little shy.
"I-i'm fine." Phil smiled, adding a stutter for effect.
"Don't worry you were very brave." Daniel smiled charmingly.
"Thank you, it was nice being rescued by a handsome stranger." Phil flirted a little and pretended to look embarrassed and blush. He heard Daniel chuckle and looked up to see him beaming.
"Thanks, that's very flattering. You're not so bad looking yourself." He smirked and winked. Phil felt a little weird, he was usually the confident sexual predator, the one who was in control. The act he was putting on was fine but the fact that Dan came across as confident and flirty also might make it even more of a challenge.
They waited for the police to get there. Phil eyed his colleagues warily, he'd make sure to get them out later. He has a pardon from Director Thomson for things such as these, he could simply name it as a government experiment if worst comes to worst.
Phil had managed to talk to Daniel for most of the time waiting and found plenty of flirting opportunities, getting back into his confident character, although Daniel seemed to be equally confident. "You're cute Daniel." Phil chuckled.
"Call me Dan, it's not working time and I prefer it." He grinned.
"Well Dan. Can I get your number?" Phil asked, putting his most irresistible pout he could on. Like many of his other assignments he could see Dan melt a little at his expression, although unlike the others he was very good at hiding it.
"Sure." He said eventually, a smile permanently on his lips. Phil couldn't help grin back, Dan was nice to be around and the flirting was rather enjoyable considering he really was very hot. When Dan eventually had to fill in some police questions he couldn't help let his eyes land on Dan's ass as he walked away. He smirked to himself.
It haden't been perfect but step one was complete. He just needed to get close to Dan now, flirt more etc.
- - -
He sat on his hotel room bed, phone in hand. He dialed the number he had received and prayed that Dan haden't given him a false one because he couldn't risk another phone hack so soon. He was relieved when it started to ring and he pressed the device firmly to his ear.
"Hello?" Dan's smooth voice answered.
"Hey it's Phil."
"Oh hey Phil." His tone seemed to change, as if getting ready to start flirting immediately.
"How have you been?" Phil asked politely, biting his lip and smirking.
"Great, and yourself?"
"Alright, would you maybe want to go out tonight?" Phil asked confidently.
"Depends on where you're planning on taking me." He replied, his voice dropping an octive. The sound made Phil shiver.
"How does a drink sound?" Phil asked.
"Perfect, it's a date." He spoke, tone still flirty.
"I'll pick you up, what's your address?" Phil asked, wondering if he'd actually get an address. He was pleasantly surprised when he was given one, post code and everything.
"Ok, see you later."
"Bye." Once he hung up he couldn't help frown. It seemed easy. Too easy. Daniel Howell was a highly trained agent and the best of the best. He needed to be careful and not cause suspicion because he had no doubt Dan might search for information on him. He just hopedhe haden't tried searching already. He needed to look out, he wouldn't be fooled by Dan's confident and flirty facade. He was an expert in that area and new that it wouldn't be a walk in the park with this particular assignment.
- - -
Phil laughed as Dan continued to amuse him. They had had a few drinks and were quite tipsy. Their conversations were becoming random and pointless but they still managed to flirt and have a good time. Phil found himself thoroughly enjoying himself. It wasn't unusual that he's sometimes have fun on his assignments dates but this one he felt especially happy with. Dan had a way of making it better.
However, Dan might have been sweet, hot, cute and confident but Phil had trained himself not to fall in love. He may get a crush or think someone's cute here and there but he never has feelings for his assignments no matter how much he likes them. It's a no zone, it's become so normal that he thinks he's actually incapable of falling in love.
Phil was on his fourth drink and felt everything getting a bit more dizzy. He decided to stop there so he wasn't completely drunk for completing faze two. Dan was only on his third so he was only a little tipsy but he was still glowing and from head to toe and beaming. He looked particularly yummy in that light and Phil found himself wanting to show him a thing or two. He doesn't have any bullshit rules about not sleeping with his assignments otherwise it wouldn't be convincing and like he's said, he's the best at what he does.
"So Phil, tell me an interesting fact about yourself." Dan grinned cheekily.
"I always top." Phil replied arrogantly, smirk on his lips. Dan cocked and eyebrow, mirroring his smirk.
"Oh really now? Well we might have a problem there . . ." Dan trailed off leaning forward in his chair more and looking Phil up and down lustfully. Phil felt the familiar shiver run down his spine at Dan's gaze, a sensation he wasn't used to but ignored for the time being.
"Oh, so you're assuming I want to go back to your place and have sex with you." Phil retorted, eyes not backing down from Dan's daring gaze.
"Even if you didn't I'd find a way to persuade you." Dan affirmed. I think you'll find that's my job. Phil thought. Their faces were a lot closer and Phil was tempted to close the space and taste those tempting lips but he was a tease and was good at holding back.
"I don't go down easily Howell." Phil breathed on Dan's lips teasingly, satisfied when he gained the lustful look from Dan he had been wanting.
"I bet you don't." He replied huskily, their noses brushing. Phil thought Dan was going to lean in and kiss him so was readying to be a tease and pull away. He was surprised to find Dan pulled away first, cheeky grin on his face. The action leaving Phil looking flustered which he immediately hated. "Sure you don't want this?" Dan asked, gesturing to his body which Phil set to tracing again.
"You'll have to Persuade me." Phil retorted, trying to get the advantage again.
"Want to leave?" Dan asked.
"Depends, can you drive?"
"Yeah."
"Then lets go." Phil smirked and they got their things, giggling all the way to Phil's car. Phil gave him the keys and Dan got into the driver's side, turning the car on and driving in the direction of his home.
The journey didn't take long, mainly because Phil had been making sexy faces which caused the pace of the journey to quicken. Once they arrived they both jumped out, Dan immediately grabbing Phil's wrist and pulling him along behind him. As soon as Dan slotted the keys in they both rushed in.
Phil was about to pin Dan to the wall like he usually did to his assignments since he was comfortable with being in charge. He was shocked when Dan pinned him to the wall, at first a wave of panic washed over him at the change of position but it soon washed away when Dan started to litter his neck with kisses. He let out a sigh and raked his fingers through Dan's hair, relishing the feeling. Not a moment later he realized what was happening and felt uncomfortable again.
Whilst Dan was preoccupied with his neck he flipped them round, pinning Dan against the wall. Before Dan could protest (which he knew he would) he attacked his lips to his neck. He kissed it once before sucking and nipping at the same spot. He was pleasantly surprised when Dan let out a loud shameless moan as he caressed the sensitive skin. It was good knowing that Dan had a weak spot. As Phil attacked every bit of Dan's neck, Dan moaned continuously and the noises were heavenly.
Suddenly they were flipped, taking Phil by surprise yet again. He thought he had the advantage back, but it looked like he was wrong. Dan went to Phil's ear, nipping before whispering, "You'll have to fight harder if you want to tip sweet heart." which made Phil shiver for the third time that day. I liked and hated it at the same time.
Dan's face was suddenly in front of Phil's, eyes glinting with want. He gave a gently smile before tenderly reaching forward and connecting their lips. Phil let out a sigh, eyes fluttering shut and hands moving to Dan's neck, pulling him closer. He was panicking about the small amount of vulnerability he held but with Dan attached to his lips everything seemed to drain away and all he could focus on was the sensation. Besides, he planned on getting Dan back when and if they reached the bed. Hopefully he could turn it around.
When Dan's tongue ran along the seem of Phil's lips he teased and didn't open, trying to regain his advantage. Dan growled when he was denied and Phil bit down on Dan's lip teasingly. Dan grinned and pushed them back together, hand reaching down and squeezing Phil's crotch, resulting in a gasp and a moan. Dan then took the opportunity to slip his tongue in, much to Phil's annoyance and delight. Under the pleasure and desire he was still panicking because he usually had control in these situations and he didn't like the fact of change.
Those thoughts disappeared again when Dan pressed his body flush with Phil, making yet another sigh leave Phil's lips. Dan's hands trailed down to caress his thighs, earning yet another moan before lifting them up and wrapping them round his waist. He then proceeded to carry Phil to the bedroom and crawling onto the bed, lips still locked in place.
Phil didn't like that he was underneath and as soon as Dan pulled away for breath, flipped them round and straddled his hips. Dan opened his mouth but whatever he was going to say was turned into a low groan as Phil ground his hips into Dan's. Phil's hands snaked under Dan's shirt and nipped at his neck, trying to give him lots of pleasure. It was working because Dan was breathing heavier and he was moaning every twenty seconds, especially when Phil would rock his hips down. Phil broke away to take Dan's shirt off before reattaching them and working on his belt. Once he managed to tug the jeans away he bit Dan's lip and kissed up his jaw.
He was surprised once again when he lost balance and was looking up at a panting Dan. "I don't lose easily." He spoke huskily.
"Neither do I." Phil replied, equally as husky and then they were kissing again, items of clothing being thrown across the room. Through their time together Phil attempted many times to be the dominant one but he found himself drifting and just enjoying it every so often which was definitely not normal.

Phil woke up the next morning, feeling warm and cosy. He opened his bleary eyes to see a tanned chest. He frowned before lifting his head and seeing Dan's beautiful face, peaceful and bliss-ed out. Phil looked at their position and let out a sigh. They had come to a compromise and Phil managed to be on top ... just not in the way he had liked because Dan was still dominant in the end since Phil agreed to ride him. The thoughts were embarrassing and he buried his face back in Dan's chest.
He hoped Dan didn't take it as a one night stand thing, he needed to be close to Dan and he realized that most of his assignments haden't gone like this. Usually he'd take them on dates, only kiss ... but this one, it went straight to desire which was different. They still didn't know each other extremely well.
But there was something about him ...
Phil looked at Dan and took in his beautiful features. He looked like an angel, so handsome and cute at the same time. Phil felt a flutter in his heart, he was definitely attracted to Dan and probably was gaining a small crush which wasn't completely unusual but definitely avoided as much as possible. Phil couldn't fall in love, it would not be good for business and it would ruin the assignment.
Phil was getting uncomfortable, he never did when he started to like someone. Last night he didn't fight as hard as he should have for dominance. It was his job, he was supposed to be good at it! He was getting angry at himself but his thoughts were soon interrupted when the body beneath him moved.
He looked up to see coffee coloured eyes staring back at him. They were as mesmerizing as before.
"Morning." Dan said, his morning voice was husky and sexy.
"Morning." Phil replied, smirking down at him, not knowing what other personality trait to show. "You're really loud." He then said, chuckling at Dan's un-amused face.
"You can talk." He retorted.
"Yeah but I don't have as many sensitive spots as you." Phil grinned.
"I do not." Dan argued. Phil proved his point but gently brushing his fingers against Dan's thigh as the other stroked his neck. Dan jumped but let out a whimper, making Phil a little better since he was having an advantage.
"Oh really?" Phil teased.
"Keep doing that and we won't be leaving the bed." Dan warned.
"Fine with me." Phil smirked and tilted his head, kissing Dan passionately.
- - -
After a long morning in bed and a long shower Phil said his farewells and went back to his hotel. He had felt happy until he got into his hotel room. He flopped down on the bed and frowned at the ceiling. He was feeling weird, he hardly knew Dan but he immediately wanted to know more about him and be near him. This wasn't normal and Phil was terrified. Terrified that after such a small period of time he was developing feelings.
After a lunchtime of being grumpy he convinced himself he'd stay on top of it and not let Dan get to him.
- - -
The planned haden't worked out particularly well. It had been two weeks and they had met up many times, gone on dates, had sex. Phil had denied it but he knew deep down he was falling for Dan and that terrified him. Even now, when he was snuggled into Dan's side watching master chef he wondered if they were in a relationship because they never officially confirmed it.
He hated to be the one to bring it up because it was usually the other way around but he already accepted that this assignment was going differently and he needed to speed it up or something.
"Dan?" Phil asked, feeling nervous.
"Yeah?"
"What are we?" He asked, turning to look at Dan. Dan's smile dropped off his face and he stared, looking unsure of what to say. The look made Phil worried.
"What do you think we are?" Dan answered lamely. Phil didn't like where this was going, he needed Dan too like him, to fall in love with him. He couldn't fail this assignment, it was bad for his reputation. That wasn't the only thing bothering him, he felt hurt that maybe Dan didn't want to have a proper relationship.
It was suddenly too much and Phil sat up, moving away from Dan to the opposite end of the couch. He was furious, furious with himself, furious with Dan, furious with life. Since when had things gotten so complicated?
"You don't want a relationship do you?" Phil asked, pain and anger clear in his voice, there was no use hiding it.
"NO! Phil, please look-"
"No, I know you don't. I don't want to hear your bullshit excuse. It's not fair Dan! You can't just lead me on like that!" Phil growled. Something about this argument seemed vaguely familiar but Phil was too angry to work out what.
"Phil please listen-" Dan moved to touch him but Phil stood up immediately, moving away from the touch. All Phil could think about was that he had failed, he had failed for the first time. He was panicking and his breathing was becoming shorter. His heart and his ego was cracked, how did he develop feelings for him? There was no use denying it now, not with how much it hurt.
"What is it then? What is it you don't want? Am I not good enough? Am I ugly? Do you always do this?" Phil asked, venom laced into his words.
"NO! Phil you don't understand-"
"THEN MAKE ME UNDERSTAND!" He suddenly yelled. Dan looked at him in surprise then anger flashed across his features. Why was he angry?
"Fine! YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY? I don't want to be in a relationship with you because I don't want to get hurt. Do you think I'm that stupid? I'm the best fucking agent in the UK, but you know all about that don't you Phillip Lester? Do you really think a hair cut and some dye could hide the fact that I have been warned about you? You're a fucking assassin, I've heard all about what you do! I didn't want to fall into that category. I followed along though because I thought if I pretended to go along with it I'd be able to catch you in the act and turn you in! Who sent you?" Dan seethed.
So many emotions ran through Phil, on a whole he felt damaged. Each word had felt like a blow and he was metaphorically bruised and battered. He felt extremely hurt mainly, had it all been a scam? He never even returned the feelings in the slightest? He felt so stupid for developing feelings for a client. It got in the way of the assignment and now it's messed up.
He couldn't take this. "You don't need to know. If that's how you feel then I'm leaving." Phil spat and turned, power walking out the apartment.
"YOU CAN'T WALK AWAY!" Dan yelled after him.
"WATCH ME!" Phil replied bitterly and quickly made his way to the bottom floor and hopping in his car. STUPID STUPID STUPID! You have one fucking rule, and it's not to fall in love! You messed everything up you complete fuck up! His thoughts weren't exactly helpful. Suddenly it dawned on him why what he said seemed so familiar. He remembered all the times his assignments had said things like that to him.
"How could you?"
"I thought you loved me and all this time you never felt the same?"
"I fucking fell for you! Get the fuck away from me!"
It didn't feel so good to be on the opposite side, it made him feel weak and broken. Something he wasn't used to being. Phil screamed out in his car in frustration. He pulled up to his hotel and going straight to his room and angrily packing his bag. Once he was sure he had everything he jumped back into his car and drove.
- - -
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"
"I mean you're resorting to Plan B. Good luck with god knows what." Phil rolled his eyes and ended the call. He didn't care if his assignment failed anymore. He just cared about the fact that it fucking hurt to have feelings for someone who didn't return them and he just want it to go away.
He sat on a park bench, he was back in LA. That was his main home, where he lived when he wasn't working. He had arrived the night before after a long plane ride. Dan haden't texted him at all and he didn't expect him to, but it still hurt.
He sighed, it didn't matter anyway. Dan was thousands of miles away and Phil had to get on with life. He was still the best at what he did, Dan was only a blip in the system.
Although his ego was damaged he knew he had to move on because he wasn't the pining type although he longed to just curl up in a ball and cry.
But Phil Lester doesn't cry.
He had been at the park for at least five hours, alone with his thoughts and it was getting darker. He'd need to go home soon and make something to eat. He decided to stay another fifteen minutes, marvelling in the silence.
"Phil!" Phil sighed his imagination must be cruel.
"PHIL!" Dan's voice called again. Phil glared at the ground and shook his head. It's not true, it's not true, just go away!
"PHIL!" It was a lot closer this time and this time Phil looked up and was beyond shocked to see Dan running in his direction. Phil didn't know what to do, feel happy? Feel sad? Angry? He wanted to run away and not face him mostly, but he was frozen in place. Dan finally caught up and bent over his legs, letting out exhausted breaths.
"What are you doing here?" Phil grumbled.
"I'm not finished with you yet!" Dan exclaimed, still slightly out of breath.
"Oh you came to yell at me, how nice." Phil retorted.
"Look what you did was pretty shit! You thought you could just waltz in to my life, smirk my way and expect me to become putty in your hands? Did you think I was that stupid!?" He shouted.
"Anything else?" Phil asked, trying to keep his face blank although he was hurting inside.
"Yes actually. Do you know what the worst fucking part was?" He growled.
"What?"
"That despite everything I knew about you I FELL FOR YOU ANYWAY! I AM FUCKING IN LOVE WITH YOU PHIL LESTER! ARE YOU HAPPY? IS THAT MISSION ACCOMPLISHED? WELL I HOPE YOU'RE FUCKING HAPPY!" Dan shouted.
Phil was beyond shocked, his mouth dropped open in shock, he did feel the same? "Y-you, what?"
"I even came out all this way to say this to you! That's how in love I am and it's fucking pathetic! I hate it! Why did you have to come into my life Phil Lester? WHY?" He shouted. Phil felt the words sting him again but he also felt his heart go fuzzy.
Dan loved him.
And he came all the way to LA jut to say it.
"Go on! Say something! Smirk! Say, 'I got you!' and tell me what happens next! JUST DO IT!" Dan shrieked. Phil stood up immediately, facing Dan. Dan's head was hung and he looked defeated and miserable. Phil couldn't stand it any longer. He did something unexpected and lunged forward, pulling Dan tight to him. He heard the other gasp in surprise as Phil hugged him tight.
He nearly started to cry but Phil Lester doesn't cry.
"I'm sorry." Phil whispered, he was shaking.
"Phil?" Dan asked, clearly not expecting his reaction. However, Dan still wrapped his arms round Phil's waist and hugged him tight, having missed the feeling of having Phil close.
"I'm sorry." Phil repeated. "I'm not worthy of you, I'm not worthy of anyone. You deserve so much better, I just ... I-I ..." He trailed off. "I love you too and it's scares the fuck out of me. I don't deserve me you shouldn't have come here for me." Phil spoke shakily.
Dan was shocked at hearing that Phil ... Phil Lester had fallen for him. One thing was for sure though, it felt fucking fantastic to be back in his arms and he didn't want it to end. He wanted to trust Phil, he wanted a relationship but he didn't know if he could.
"I want to be your boyfriend so badly." Dan whispered into Phil's ear, making Phil smile and nuzzle his head into the crook of Dan's neck.
"Me too." He replied. "I know you can't trust me though."
"I just ... don't want to get hurt again ... but I want you so badly. If you give me your word that you're not joking with me right now then I'll believe you." Dan said, his voice pained, in case Phil declines.
Phil pulled away. "I promise, I love you so much and I'm sorry. I'm sorry to the moon and back. I give you my word. If I do break my promise you can sue me all you want, I'll do anything, give you anything."
"I believe you." Dan smiled and took Phil's chin and kissing him gently. Phil immediately responded by wrapping his arms round Dan's neck and bringing him closer. After a passionate make out session in the middle of the park they pulled apart for air.
"Do you need somewhere to stay tonight?" Phil asked curiously.
"No."
"Then i don't suppose you would want to come back to mine?" Phil asked nervously.
"Depends, do I get to top?" Dan asked, grinning cheekily. Phil smiled widely and shook his head.
"We'll see."
"Well in that case, lead the way." Dan smirked and entwined their fingers.
"... how did you find me?" Phil wondered, eyebrows furrowed.
"Oh I tracked the signal of your phone when you gave me your number. I looked for you at the hotel and when you weren't there I decided I'd look for you." He smiled sheepishly.
"Haha okay."
"I love you Phil." Dan said suddenly. they both stopped and Phil grinned.
"I love you too."
