Miraculous

Words: 7970

Prompt: mew-blueberry "Maybe a Miraculous Ladybug AU where one of them is a male generation of Ladybug and the other is Chat Noir, CN flirts with L as well and out of costume and stuff L has a crush on CN but they don't know each other's identities. They still do YouTube and everything, but they sneak off to do superhero stuff regularly but they don't realise it. Then, after fighting an akuma, one of them accidentally sees the other detransform and then fluffy stuff."

Phil glared at Chloe as she laughed. God she really was a bitch. He sighed as the girl walked away, Sabrina scampering at her heels. Phil stumbled back onto his feet and collected the books scattered on the floor. "Need help?" Alya asked in concern. Phil smiled and shook his head before tucking his books neatly into his locker. "God I hope all her hair falls out." She snapped.

Phil chuckled. "That would be a sight." He agreed.

"Anyway, how is your little ... situation?" Alya asked, wiggling her eyebrows.

Phil flushed. "Excuse me?"

"Don't play dumb with me Lester. How's your Howell situation going?" Alya smirked, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. Phil blushed even more.

"Y-you know I can hardly talk to the guy." Phil stuttered anxiously. "How do you think it's going?" Phil huffed and walked with his friend to their first class.

"Oh come on, just ask him out already." Alya urged. "I'm drowning in all this shipping - I need it to be cannon before I explode!" She exclaimed dramatically. Phil raised an eyebrow.

"I think you want me to be with Dan more than I do." Phil giggled and Alya lightly punched his shoulder.

"I want it for you." She corrected.

"Yeah well it's never gonna happen." Phil deflated. Alya smacked him round the head. "OW!" Phil scowled. "The hell Al?"

"I don't want to hear any self-deprecation from you mister." Alya glared and walked purposefully into class. Phil rolled his eyes and followed in after her, taking a seat beside his best friend.

"That hurt." He muttered.

"Good." She smiled and Phil scowled back. He never knew whether to love or hate her. Just as he contemplated his love-hate relationship, Dan Howell walked through the door. He was a British super model and son of Gabriel Howell - rich and famous fashion designer. Phil smiled dreamily at Dan's coffee eyes, flawless hair and handsome dimples. He was an angel.

"Earth to Phil." Alya smirked and poked his side. Phil yelped and snapped out of his Dan reverie. Phil pouted.

"You need to stop hurting me." Before Alya could reply the teacher silenced the class.

"Everyone, I'd like to introduce our new exchange student from Italy. His name is Peter Ligouri." Miss Bustier announced. The boy waved shyly - his curly hair flopping in front of one eye.

"He's cute." Alya whispered and Phil rolled his eyes - was that all that Alya talked about?

"Pick a seat Peter." Miss Bustier instructed.

"Yes m'am, if you don't mind I prefer to be called PJ." the boy smiled nervously. The teacher gave an impatient smile.

"Yes yes alright, let's get the class started." She dismissed with a limp wave of her hand. PJ shuffled anxiously to an empty seat which just so happened to be next to Dan. Phil scowled a little at that. PJ really was attractive - he was slim but had clear muscle definition as well as a sun-kissed tan. His eyes were an enchanting green and his curly mop was endearing. He could have been a model too for all Phil knew.

"Hi, I'm PJ." The boy introduced himself politely. Dan smiled a charming smile.

"Dan Howell, nice to meet you." He replied - equally as polite. Phil clenched his hands as he listened to the conversation - he wished he could talk easily to Dan like that but he always became a flustered mess.

"Is this seat taken?" PJ asked, biting his lip.

"Actually my best friend Nino sits there but he isn't in today so I'm sure it would be fine." Dan reassured. PJ smiled happily and slid in next to the other boy - getting his utensils out. Phil tried not to feel jealous as PJ and Dan had steady conversation throughout the lesson.

"Phil loosen your grip - pretty sure that pencil's gonna snap." Alya muttered and he realised that his hand ached a little from clutching so hard. He let out a small sigh before putting his pencil down and collecting his thoughts. Luckily the bell rang indicating the end of the lesson so everyone began packing up for break. "Jealous much?" Alya snickered as she and Phil walked out of class. Phil huffed and looked down at his shoes - feeling a little shameful. Dan wasn't his - he had no right being jealous, especially when they were only talking.

Suddenly there was a large crash in the corridor. Phil and Alya whipped round to see people screaming and running. "Come out come out little children!" A voice snickered.

"An akuma!" Alya exclaimed and started to film the whole thing.

"Are you serious Al? Run away!" Phil urged as he saw a purple suited-woman who looked suspiciously like one of the maths teachers.

"Are you kidding me? This is excellent content for the ladyblog!" Alya grinned, catching every moment. Phil looked back and fourth in conflict. He couldn't run and leave Alya.

"You kiddies are particularly bold!" The teacher cackled, finally noticing the pair. "The Subtractor hates kids!" The akumatized woman shrieked and pointed what appeared to be a ruler at both Phil and Alya.

"Move!" Phil exclaimed and pushed he and Alya into the adjacent classroom just as a blast scorched the hallway floor.

"INSOLENCE!" was heard from the hall before the Subtractor carried on down the hallway to find a particular victim.

"Whew that was close. Can't let the Subtractor get away though, we haven't had an akuma in weeks!" Alya squealed and stood to go follow it.

"Al!" Phil called out in frustration but the girl scurried off. "For goodness sake." Phil huffed but Tikki flew out of his shoulder bag - interrupting his thoughts.

"Let's hurry Phil!" Her tiny voice urged.

"Tikki, spots on!" Phil exclaimed before feeling the power of Ladybug absorb into him and cover him from head to toe. As his mask appeared on his face and his yoyo on his hip he gave a roll of his shoulders before sprinting after the Subtractor.

~

Dan was still in the classroom when the crash was heard. "What was that?!" PJ exclaimed in shock. Dan went to reply but a cackle sounded, so Dan pulled PJ down so the new akuma victim couldn't see them.

"Yeah about that ... there's a possibility for people to be akumatized in this city. An evil villain called Hawkmoth turns people evil if they have strong negative emotions. Looks like one of the maths teachers may be having a bad day." Dan bit his lip as he peeked through the classroom door window.

"Huh?" PJ asked, completely bewildered.

"Doesn't matter, you need to get out of here!" Dan urged, spying that the akuma victim had already left the building.

"What about you?" PJ asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I'll be right out." Dan replied vaguely. PJ looked like he was about to argue but contemplated the potential danger. Finally he gave a small nod and scurried out of the room. "Finally." Dan sighed, knowing he could now transform into Chat and stop the new villain. His small black kwami flew from his pocket and gave a lazy yawn. Dan paid it no attention and instead instructed, "Plagg, claws out!"

All at once he felt his body transform into his leather suit and cat ears; tail flickering out behind him. He grabbed his baton and grinned - feeling Chat's confident and cheeky persona take over once again. He sprinted down the hallway and followed the sounds of anguish. When he got outside the building he saw Ladybug already on the scene, seemingly glaring the new villain down.

"Afternoon bugaboo." Chat announced as he joined Ladybug's side.

"Hey Chat. I think the akuma is in the Subtractor's ruler." He replied, not messing around whilst the city was in jeopardy. Dan silently admired Ladybug's courage for a moment before letting the information sink in. So the knew akuma victim was called the Subtractor.

"Awaiting your orders m'lady." Chat wiggled his eyebrows and Ladybug rolled his eyes before swinging his yoyo onto the roof of a building.

"We need to follow and stop her before she hurts any more civilians. Let's go." Ladybug instructed and then suddenly he was flying off towards the target. Chat grinned, feeling the endorphins pumping.

"Game on."

~

Chat watched in awe as Ladybug broke the ruler over his knee and set the akuma free. He was always impressed by Ladybug and how quick he was to save the day. Chat watched Ladybug de-evilise the akuma with a fond expression before witnessing the city magic back to normal after Ladybug's lucky charm was released.

"Pound it." Ladybug grinned and Chat bumped his fist, feeling a warmth in his chest. He loved being Ladybug's partner.

"You never cease to amaze me bugaboo." Chat flirted, taking Ladybug's gloved hand and kissing it. The other yanked it away and rolled his eyes. Although it stung a little, Chat still hoped one day Ladybug would take his affections seriously. He was in love the brave idiot and was pretty sure he'd do anything for the boy. Chat longed to know who was behind the mask and could only scold himself for not knowing who owned those beautiful blue eyes.

"We both did a good job." Ladybug winked and Chat nearly swooned. His poor heart - Ladybug didn't even have to try. The beeping of his miraculous suddenly interrupted his thoughts and looked down at his ring to see he only had a few minutes left until de-transformation.

"Looks like times up." Chat offered with a disappointed tone. "You sure you don't want to know the handsome face beneath this mask?" Chat offered cheekily and leaned an elbow on Ladybug's shoulder.

"I'll pass. You know how I feel about revealing our identities Chat." Ladybug sighed once again and pulled away from Chat's touch. At that moment Ladybug's earrings also gave a beep.

"One day?" Chat found himself blurting in hope. Ladybug glanced at him over his shoulder, biting his lip.

"I'll see you later Chaton." He gave a small smile before swinging away. Chat gave a disappointed sigh and looked down at his ring to see he only had a minute to go. He took his baton and lowered himself into an alleyway away from prying eyes. There he finally released the transformation and he was Dan Howell again, famous male model. Dan kicked a stone out of frustration just as Plagg materialized before him.

"Hey kid, I'm hungry." He all but demanded.

"Why won't he take me seriously Plagg?" Dan found himself whining.

"I don't know. Human's are confusing." The cat kwami shrugged, not looking too invested in the conversation. "I'm hungry. Give me cheese." he demanded again and Dan rolled his eyes.

"I don't have any on me, I'll give you some when we get back to the manor." Dan grumbled and opened his shirt so Plagg could fly into his inside pocket. "One day I'll tell him I love him." Dan thought determinedly.

~

"You should be more careful! I heard you nearly got blasted again." Phil huffed down the phone.

"I'm sorry, I just couldn't keep away from the opportunity! Man did you see Chat and Ladybug? I got some miraculous footage." Phil couldn't help the small smile that reached his lips.

"You're ridiculous." He replied fondly.

"I'm fabulous ... and smexy." Phil laughed at his best friend. "I wish I could get an exclusive interview with Ladybug. That would be the pinnacle of my life - I could die happy. " Alya mused. Phil felt a warmth in his chest from her flattering words but also felt a pang. It was always about Ladybug - he was always put first. Chat did just as much work as he did and he didn't like how under-appreciated he was. He was the best partner - despite his irritating flirting. It was miraculous ladybug, the ladyblog - never Chat Noir. Phil felt frustrated for him but Chat never seemed bothered. If anything he joined in in celebrating Ladybug's awesomeness

Phil sighed a little sadly, would they all still think that if they knew Lady bug was him? "PHIL!" Alya shrieked down the line. Phil jumped.

"Sorry zonked out." Phil apologised.

"Dork. I need to go put the video up on the blog. Don't forget to comment, my love." Alya sing-songed. Phil chuckled.

"Yes dear will do." He agreed before hearing the line go dead. That girl was wild. He chucked the phone on his bed and flopped down onto the pillows. His limbs ached a little from all the action - nothing a good night's sleep won't cure.

"Nice job today Phil." Tikki complimented, munching on a cookie.

"Thanks Tikki." Phil smiled and watched the black and red kwami settle on the pillow beside his head. His mind ended up drifting back to Chat and how disappointed he looked before Phil swung away. "I feel bad." Phil blurted.

The spotted kwami looked up in surprise before remembering the earlier events. "You shouldn't. You're right to want to keep your identity safe." She explained.

"Sometimes I don't know if he takes it all seriously. Then again we work as a perfect team. I just wish he'd stop with the flirty remarks." Phil huffed. Tikki fell silent for a moment.

"Do you think he's doing it to tease you?" She finally asked.

"Well yeah, that's just how he is. He's a naturally flirty person, remember when he even flirted with me - Phil, when we dealt with the Evillustrator?" Phil rolled his eyes then shivered, "God he was so obnoxious I wanted to punch him in the face." Phil sighed. Tikki hesitated.

"Granted he's a naturally flirty person ... do you ever think that Chat might actually like Ladybug?" She asked curiously.

Phil frowned, "I doubt it, I mean what are the chances of Chat being gay? Well ... I suppose he might be bi, who knows. I'm just saying that he doesn't act seriously enough for me to take him seriously. I can't see him having mature feelings towards me- I mean Ladybug." Phil finished.

"Well maybe he's trying to hide behind his persona?" Tikki pushed a little further. Although she had a strict rule of not revealing Ladybug's identity, she did miss Plagg - one who'd she'd known for centuries. It wasn't rare for Ladybugs and Chat Noire's to discover each other's identities but it was easier and safer if they didn't.

"Chat? No way, he's far too confident in himself for that to be an act." Phil dismissed. Tikki gave a small concealed sigh before smiling at Phil.

"Oh well, enough of that. You should get some sleep. You've had a tiring day." Tikki instructed.

"Yes m'am." Phil grinned and got comfortable under the duvet. "Night Tikki, I hope tomorrow's a good day."

~

"Hey guys." Phil beams as he spots Nino and Alya in front of the school.

"Morning Lester." Nino grinned, with an arm round his girlfriend's shoulder.

"How are you doing?" Alya smiled.

"Not bad, was a little freaked from the akuma yesterday. I was so scared I could hardly move." Phil chuckled nervously.

"I got some great shots for the blog." Alya smirked.

"I wonder where Dan is this morning." Nino said to himself, gazing around. Phil also found himself searching the area. "He's been acting weird lately."

Phil felt a pang of worry. "Really? How so? Is he okay? Did he get hurt?" He found himself blurting. Alya chuckled and Nino looked surprised.

"Uh ... I don't know. He was really moody after yesterday's akuma attack. Maybe he did get hurt?" Nino shrugged. Phil felt even more concerned for his crush.

"Hey there's his car." Alya interjected. The three turned to see the limo pull up, door opening to reveal their absent friend. He looked tired. Phil took in the slight hunch of his shoulders and dusting of shadows under his eyes. Phil felt instantly worried - he had cared about the boy ever since he'd kindly lent Phil his umbrella in the heavy downpour after he'd forgotten his own. The way he'd looked at him with care and his gorgeous laugh when Phil's bad luck provoked the umbrella to close around his head. Phil had felt the warmth in his chest - was such as kind beautiful person inside and out. Phil didn't care about him being a model, that's not why he liked him unlike most of the fangirls in London.

"Hey." Dan smiled, trying to suppress his lingering exhaustion.

"You look like crap." Nino blurted out, trust best friends to get straight to the point.

"Rough night, my crush kinda stomped on my feelings unknowingly." Dan chuckled dejectedly. Phil felt like he'd been dowsed in a bucket of ice. He felt his heart sink and tears sting his eyes.

"That sucks dude." the DJ sympathised but shared a wary look with Alya in Phil's direction. They both knew about Phil's feelings. Phil was frozen in place, feeling inner turmoil take over his being which went unnoticed by Dan. He snapped out of his depression for a brief moment so they wouldn't notice - or rather keep Dan from noticing just how clearly he felt about the boy. He sucked in a breath and put on a sympathetic smile. For once not stuttering in Dan's presence.

"I'm so sorry about that Dan. Don't worry I'm sure the one you like will return your feelings someday. They'd be crazy not to like such a kind and generous person like you." Phil smiled, masking just how distraught he was at Dan liking someone else. Dan smiled, looking genuinely touched by his words.

"Thanks Phil." He replied softly. Phil's chest ached at Dan saying his name. Nino and Alya stood in worried silence before Alya broke in - wanting to relieve Phil of the anguish he felt.

"WELL, let's get to class. Come on Phil, I know you uh, wanted to ask Ms Mendeleiev something. See you boys later." Alya rushed out, grabbing Phil's arm and dragging him away. Dan didn't even notice the strange behaviour - too absorbed in his own misery of Ladybug ignoring him and his feelings.

"So ... who's the lucky girl ... or guy?" Nino asked curiously. Dan swallowed, he couldn't tell him it was Ladybug without being questioned on just how he'd crushed his feelings. He could hardly say Chat was rejected could he?

"Oh um ... just someone from my modelling agency who I've liked for a while." Dan lied, trying to come across as reluctant to talk about it. Nino got the message immediately.

"You going to be okay?" He asked uncertainly.

Dan smiled, one day Ladybug would know how he truly felt. He shouldn't really mope around when he hadn't been properly rejected yet. He took in a deep breath with a determined look. He smiled at Nino, "Yeah, I won't give up." Dan said confidently. Nino gave his friend a genuine smile.

"Glad to see you back to normal." He admitted. Dan smiled himself and the two started heading to class. The day went pretty slowly. PJ was no longer in the seat beside him and had moved back to sit with Nathaniel - they seemed to be bonding over art and writing. Dan was happy he was settling in as he'd appeared shy the previous day. He remembered the anxiousness he felt going to school for the first time and felt his heart go out to him a little.

Dan found himself feeling better whilst talking to his friends. However he couldn't help but notice that Phil was quieter than usual. He mainly listened anyway but for some reason it felt like he was keeping something to himself. He wasn't smiling much either which was worrisome considering he was probably the happiest and smiliest person in class. Even though they don't interact often in their friend group, Dan admired his compassion and wouldn't want him to not have it returned. He wanted to ask if he was alright but when break time came around, the boy and Alya were already rushing out of the classroom.

Phil's head had been a storm of thoughts - conflict distracting him from his work. He knew it was a long shot for Dan to feel the same way about him but it still hurt. He didn't consider the fact that he'd eventually like someone who wasn't him and want to start a relationship. Dan had seemed really hurt which meant he was pretty serious about this person. Phil felt his heart deflate. He hated his unrequited love for the boy. He had tried to stop liking him for ages but all he had to do was smile and that familiar warmth flooded him once again. It was a long shot that Dan would even like boys anyway. As soon as the bell rang, Phil was out of there in a flash. He felt like he was suffocating in the same room as Dan. He felt a little angry even though he knew Dan couldn't help his feelings but mainly it was an overall sadness. His thoughts were suddenly interrupted, not by Alya but by Chloe Bourgeois.

"Hey there cutie, welcome to Winchester." Chloe all but purred at PJ who appeared to be backed up against some lockers. Maybe she'd heard the news that Dan liked someone else and was looking for new prey.

"U-uh thanks?" PJ didn't looked almost frightened.

"Say, why don't we go and have a coffee after school. Y'know, get to know each other a little ... better." Chloe smirked, trailing a manicured nail down the new boy's chest. PJ shivered - but not in a pleasant way it seemed. Phil couldn't help but feel sorry for the boy being trapped in the demon's clutches.

He chuckled nervously before gently removing Chloe's hand. "Thanks for the generous offer but I don't think my boyfriend Chris would appreciate that very much." PJ smiled nervously. Chloe froze - including Alya and Phil. Phil felt a breath of relief wash over him because he was taken and worry for how Chloe would react.

"What?!" Chloe all but shrieked and those in the hallway flinched - heads turning to the scene. "Eugh, I can't believe I touched you! You're disgusting and a sinner." Chloe spat, sharply turning on her heels. "Come on Sabrina, let's get away before he infects us with his fag germs." The girl spoke venomously - her friend scampering after her obediently. Phil felt his heart go out to PJ who shared the same problem he did. He hated the pained expression on the boy's face from such hateful words and found himself walking over before his brain could acknowledge it.

"Hey, PJ right? Just ignore her - she's selfish and cruel. She doesn't care about anyone but herself and her opinion is always poisonous. Try not to take it to heart as her words have hurt a lot of people before and I'd hate for it to happen to you." Phil found himself blurting out. PJ still looked wounded but smiled weakly at Phil.

"Thank you, really. It's nice to see that people still have compassion - I thought it might be different here but it seems there will always be harmful opinions." PJ sighed. "Phil right? Thanks." The boy smiled, sadness still behind his eyes, and walked away.

"That was nice Phil." Alya smiled fondly.

"I just didn't want him to feel bad for something he can't control. It makes me angry seeing so many ignorant people label it as unnatural - it's love for god's sake." Phil huffed, a fire in his heart over such a personal topic. "Also I wouldn't want him to be akumatized - it's not fair when Chloe's the one who caused this ... again."

"Fair enough." Alya agreed. "Come on, let's eat outside. I think you need to let it all out. We don't want you being akumatised either." Phil nodded sadly, following his best friend.

~

"Negative emotions, perfect ... anger, sadness, frustration ..." Black gloves coaxed and encased a white butterfly. "Make his heart blacker my devious akuma." A black and purple glow emitted from his gloved fingers. "Fly away my little akuma and evilise him." The white turned black butterfly fluttered out a stained glass window into the light in search of its target.

PJ wiped away a stray tear. "How could she say such awful things?" He thought to himself. He sighed and took the locket from around his neck and opened it - a picture of his boyfriend smiled back at him. "Chris would know what to say right now. I miss him so much." PJ thought fondly before becoming sad all over again at his absence and clicked the locket shut and turned the page in his diary. He always wrote when he was feeling down - Chris always loved to hear his poetry. Just then a black blur fluttered by and suddenly he felt a dark presence fill him. His emotions were amplified and all he craved was revenge to quench them.

"Dark Poet, I am Hawkmoth. I give you the power to seek revenge on those who have wronged you, all I ask in return is that you get me Ladybug and Chat Noire's miraculous'" A chilling voice coaxed.

"With pleasure Hawkmoth."

~

"I'm thinking movie night?" Alya offered. "I say we have a super hero marathon, y'know because of the ladyblog's three year anniversary and all." The girl grinned.

"Congratulations by the way." Phil smiled, glad to be past his crying over Dan and on to a new topic. Alya was good at distracting him.

"Why thank you. It's gotten so much support - everyone loves hearing about Ladybug and his adventures." Alya gushed.

"Don't forget Chat Noire." Phil added with a smile.

"Yes of course. They're both amazing - how they risk themselves for us. I admire them so much I wish I could get an interview." She huffed. Just as Phil was about to reply there was a crash and a scream. Both friends turned round in shock to see smoke and running people.

"An akuma." Phil blurted out.

"AH PERFECT! Just what I need for the ladyblog. Sorry Phil I'll find you later, I need to go film this." Alya grinned before running off.

"Al it's not safe!" Phil exclaimed in worry but his friend was already rushing towards the scene. Phil chased after her, she was too reckless. As he was running after his best friend, he didn't see the whirlwind come whooshing round the grounds. Phil turned just in time to be thrown by the force into the adjacent building's walls.

"PHIL!" Alya shrieked. Phil groaned and looked up, only for the faces at school to be concealed by the growing wind and dust. "Phil! Are you okay?" A small worried voice asked urgently as Phil scrambled into the alleyway beside the building.

"Tikki." Phil groaned and his little spotted friend flew from his school bag.

"Phil, I'm not sure it's safe for you to transform." Tikki exclaimed and Phil shook his head stubbornly.

"Chat and the people need Ladybug. I can't leave them on their own." Before his kwami could protest Phil exclaimed, "Tikki spots on!" Just then Tikki combined with his miraculous and he transformed into his Ladybug suit. Once he was ready, he shot out - swinging his yoyo onto the roof of the school building and swinging upwards, a pang of pain shooting up his back with the strain. Once up there he could see the scene better. The small tornado was acting as a barrier circulated the school and keeping all students within.

"WHERE ARE YOU CHLOE?" An angry voice exclaimed.

"Oh no, that must be PJ." Phil thought sadly as he saw the boy's curly hair turned white and his green eyes burning beneath his half black and half gold mask. He wore a long black cape and a black and silver suit. In his hand he held a glowing purple quill which he aimed at some civilians and shot at them.

"Evening bugaboo." A cocky voice sounded and Phil rolled his eyes before turning to his partner, Chat Noire with his unruly brown hair and golden cat eyes. "What's happening?"

Phil turned back to the scene. "I think the akuma is in the quill. He's using it as a weapon." Phil explained and used his yoyo to slowly lower himself to the ground, flinching at the pain in his back. Once on the ground with Chat Noire, he let out a pained breath before straightening up.

"Ladybug, are you okay?" Chat asked, not missing a beat.

"Yeah, I just got a little hurt as my civilian self as my suit wasn't there to protect me." Phil explained.

"Are you sure you're fit to fight?" Chat asked worriedly.

"That doesn't matter we have to stop the akuma before he finds Chloe." Phil dismissed, he had no time to think about himself. Before Chat could protest, Phil was running towards the akuma. Phil watched Pj write in mid air, reading the word 'ghosts'. The writing vanished and suddenly a bunch of white apparitions appeared, chasing the students.

"Haha, no one can defeat the almighty Dark Poet." the akuma cackled.

"Are you sure you're write about that?" Chat asked cheekily, drawing Dark Poet's attention. Phil cringed a little at the pun.

Dark Poet turned to the heroes and glared. "That's Ladybug and Chat Noire, get me their miraculouses and you can keep your power to destroys those that get in your way." Hawkmoth demanded inside PJ's head. "Ha, you two won't defeat me." Dark Poet aimed the quill at the two superheroes and the ghosts chased after them.

"Run!" Ladybug exclaimed and he and Chat dodged the attacks. Chat Noire suddenly grabbed Ladybug's waiste and using his baton, extended it until they landed on the roof. As soon as their feet was on steady ground, Ladybug separated from Chat. "We need to find a way to separate him from his quill or those ghosts won't stop us from reaching him."

"You just read my mind. I guess you could say that we're spookily in sync." Chat winked.

"No puns right now kitty." Phil sighed and surveyed Dark Poet's position. "You lead the ghosts away and I'll try and get it from his grasp." Phil instructed.

"Roger that!" Chat saluted before flipping off the roof top. Phil rolled his eyes, he could be so over the top. Chat waved his arms. "Yoohoo! Hey why don't you ghosties haunt someone your own size." Chat smirked before taking off - the ghosts flying after him and round the side of the building.

Phil watched as Dark Poet slipped inside the school and he was quick to follow, wincing a little when he back ached from the movement once again. He sneaked up behind Dark Poet to see he had found and cornered Chloe. "Ah, ms Bourgois. Are you finally ready for the end of your story?" Dark Poet cackled. The girl cowered but noticed the red suite creeping up on Dark Poet.

"Ah, Ladybug help me!" Chloe whined, blowing his cover. Phil felt like strangling the girl as the akuma turned round with a glare. He quickly scrawled something in the air and storm clouds formed over head. A bolt of lightening shot down, barely giving Ladybug time to dodge. Phil flipped away as the bolt scorched the hallway floor. Phil withheld a shout of pain it had caused in his back. He cried out when he had to dodge once again, barely missing being struck.

"Ladybug!" Chat exclaimed down the hallway and threw his baton, sending Dark Poet flying back into the wall. The akuma growled and was quickly back on his feet. He scrawled into the air and suddenly the hallway filled with smoke. "Ladybug?" Chat called into the fog only to be flung into the wall by a punch from Dark Poet. Lady bug hid in one of the classrooms and gasped as he heard the beeping of his miraculous telling him that he was running out of time.

"LUCKY CHARM!" Phil exclaimed and watched as his special power activated. A voice recorder dropped into his hands. "What am I supposed to do with this?" Phil wondered in frustration before scanning the room. He was in the science corridor. He spotted the skeleton dummy in the corner and was struck by an idea.

Dark Poet continued to fight Chat. "CATACLYSM!" Chat exclaimed aiming to grab the quill in Dark Poet's grasp. However he grabbed Chat's wrist and forced his power onto the classroom door - watching it crumble to dust. He then threw Chat back into the smoke - hearing the groan of pain as he hit something solid.

"HEY! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" He heard Ladybug exclaim and spotted a body amongst the fog. Dark Poet smirked.

"You're mine Ladybug!" Dark Poet snickered and pounced - crashing into the body. He grinned triumphantly at his capture but frowned in confusion when he saw a skull and bones staring back at him - a voice recorder then looping and exclaiming "HEY! LEAVE HIM ALONE!" In that moment, a presence appeared behind him and plucked the quill from his fingers. Before Dark Poet could stop him, Ladybug broke it in half. The small akuma flew out of the quill and Phil captured it - de-evilising the butterfly. Ladybug then threw the tape recorder in the air and  restored London and the school back to how it was before the akuma attack.

Ladybug's felt the ache in his back get worse and he stumbled into the nearest classroom - the last beep of his miraculous de-transforming him. Chat had gotten to his feet just in time to see Ladybug release the lucky charm. He was about to congratulate his partner when he heard pained groan from the boy. Dan rushed over as the boy fell into a classroom. However as he turned the corner he saw a bright light and suddenly it wasn't Ladybug in front of him but Phil Lester. Immediately, Dan his behind the wall in shock - he had just accidentally seen Ladybug's true identity. A rush of conflicted feelings rushed through. However the beeping of his ring reminded him of his own soon de-transformation. He heard PJ becoming conscious once again.

"What happened?" He asked in confusion. Dan helped him up.

"You were akumatised. Don't worry, Ladybug and I stopped it from taking you over. Just go home and get some rest. I have to flee." Chat saluted before racing down the hall and into the boy's toilets. There he de-transformed.

Dan stood there for a moment, staring into a mirror in shock. "Kid? Are you with us?" Plagg asked uncertainly.

"Phil ... Phil Lester is Ladybug!"

~

Phil sighed in relief as he fell back on his bed. The pain had finally gone after the lucky charm came into effect and repaired his back to before the akuma had thrown him into the wall. "Are you feeling ok Phil?" Tikki asked softly.

"Much better. I need to be mroe careful as Phil when akumas are around. I won't recklessly rush in again." Phil said determinedly.

"Good ... what about ... um ... nevermind." Tikki trailed off, wondering if she should refrain from bringing up Dan. However it was too late - Phil knew exactly what she'd been meaning to say. He let out a sad sigh.

"I feel emotionally broken and to be honest maybe the physical pain would be easier to handle right now." Phil admitted sadly. "I've liked him for ... so long Tikki and I just don't know how to handle this well." Phil started tearing up.

"Oh Phil." Tikki sighed sadly and cuddled into his neck. Phil smiled and put a hand over his little friend.

"Don't worry Tikki. I'll get over him in time." Phil whispered, dreading the process of inner anguish he'd have to go through to get to that point. Not to mention the sickness he'd feel at seeing him with the person he liked. To make things worse, Nino had said it was someone from Dan's modelling agency. Of course Phil could never compare to a model. Ladybug was only an idol because they couldn't see the face beneath it. Phil felt his eyes tear up. However his thoughts were disrupted by a knock on his trap door leading to the balcony. Phil frowned and instructed Tikki to hide.

He warily climbed the ladder and opened the hatch, and climbed onto his balcony. He was beyond surprised when he found a certain leather-clad cat sitting on the railing, swinging his tail. Chat hadn't visited him since the Evillustrator incident. "Chat?" Phil said in surprise.

"Evening, my prince." Chat smiled charmingly - the nickname he'd given him during the Evillustrator mission.

"What are you doing here?" Phil asked, beyond confused. Chat bit his lip and concern flashed in his golden eyes.

"I heard you got hurt during the akuma attack and I wanted to make sure my prince was okay." He spoke with genuine concern. Phil felt a small warmth of happiness at his partner's concern and smiled at the cat. He liked this side of Chat - not the constantly flirting Chat.

"Thank you for checking on me, the pain disappeared once Ladybug used lucky charm though. So it doesn't hurt." Phil sighed. Well .... he wasn't physically hurting. Chat immediately noticed the sadness he'd sensed from Phil since the start of school. He could tell that the boy was not himself.

"Why do you look so sad, my prince?" Chat asked, not wanting Phil or Ladybug to hurt. Now that he knew both were the same person he wondered how he hadn't seen it before. They both matched it perfectly. He had admired both Phil and Ladybug for their qualities but had fallen in love with Ladybug's strength and bravery and the way he appreciated Chat. Chat was in love with the person behind the mask though and after the shock wore off he was happy that Phil was the one behind the mask. He was compassionate and funny and pretty. Honestly he was perfect and Dan felt himself forget about Ladybug as a person and direct his feelings towards the boy behind Ladybug's persona. He was in love with Phil Lester.

Phil was about to make an excuse for his sadness but he felt so tired. He had been saying he was okay all day but he was exhausted of the pretences. He felt his eyes water once again. A tear escaped and he drew in a shaky breath. "I-I'm s-sorry Chat. I just found out that my long-term crush has feelings for someone else and I just don't know how to handle it." Phil gave him a watery smile.

Chat felt a stab of pain once again from his love. He swallowed the pain and tried to focus on Phil's. He looked broken and Dan hated it. He wanted him to smile again. Swallowing, Dan pulled the boy into a hug, shushing him as he started to properly cry into his shoulder. "Can I ask who is stupid enough not like you, my prince?" Chat asked softly.

"It's a boy in my class called Dan Howell. I didn't like him at first because I thought he was a stuck-up model but then he turned out to be this really nice guy. He was always really nice to me even though I could hardly get a word out to him and he makes me feel warm." Phil explained shakily, feeling secure in Chat's arms. He was warm and made him feel safe.

Dan tried not to freeze up at the mention of his name. However couldn't stop the huge grin that spread across his cheeks. It hurt but he was so happy - the boy of his dreams liked him back. Now everything made sense - how Phil had seemed off after Dan had admitted that Ladybug hadn't acknowledged his feelings. How miserable and heartbroken he looked during class. "Well ... he's an idiot for not having noticed that the perfect person was right next to him all along." Dan pulled away from Phil and wiped his wet cheeks with his gloved fingers.

Phil smiled at Chat, tears still leaking. "Thanks Chat. That's very sweet."

"If it helps, I've been chasing Ladybug for years and he's never noticed. I've been in love with him since the beginning but he never took it seriously." Dan explained and Phil felt a flash of guilt.

"I'm so sorry Chat. Ladybug should have noticed." Phil looked down at his feet, feeling ashamed for hurting his partner.

"Hey it's okay - besides I've fallen for someone else." Chat grinned. Phil looked up in surprise.

"You have?" He was both curious and happy that his friend found someone who could appreciate him for who he was. Especially since Phil and Ladybug would be hurt over Dan for quite a while. "May I ask who or is that invasive?" Phil asked shyly, flushing a little. Dan found the colour in the boy's cheeks adorable.

"It's only fair since I asked you. I fell for the a boy." Chat started, wrapping his arms round Phil's waist and resting his forehead against Phil's. "Someone brave, kind and compassionate. Someone funny and thoughtful and beautiful inside and out." Dan listed, appreciating the blue in Phil's eyes - the blue eyes he'd seen behind the mask so many times. He'd kicked himself for not noticing that those gorgeous blue eyes were always close by. Phil held his breath - his mind going a little blank as he was encompassed in Chat's warmth. His heart picked up and he found himself getting lost in the gold of his partner's eyes. Why did he feel like Chat was talking directly to his soul? He swallowed and waited for Chat to continue. He was glad to be distracted from Dan for a little while.

Chat smiled sweetly at the black haired boy. "I fell in love with the boy under the Ladybug mask." Chat finally whispered and Phil's eyes went round with shock. Chat found out? How?

"Y-you know?" Phil asked, fear flashing in his blue eyes and he took a step back. Chat smiled guiltily.

"I- um kinda saw you de-transform. I didn't mean to, I turned the corner and it happened before I could register or turn away. I'm sorry I know you wanted me to respect each other's secret identities but I promise I didn't do it on purpose. I'm just glad you're okay and honestly I'm happy it's you Phil. I think you're perfect in every way. I've loved who Ladybug was under the mask - at first it may have been the image of him but over time I realised that we're both different and the same to our super hero personas. I know that a lot of what I truly feel comes out behind the confidence the mask brings. I knew that the person I really loved wasn't Ladybug himself but the boy who became Ladybug." Chat finished, looking embarrassed. His cheeks flushing red.

Phil stood there in shock although he felt the warmth in his chest from Chat's beautiful words. He was honestly flattered and couldn't help feel his heart heal a little. If it hadn't been broken earlier today he might have felt it shift for his partner. He couldn't help love Chat at least a little after he loved and accepted all aspects of Phil. Not Ladybug but plain old Phil. It made Phil feel special and he found himself wanting Chat more than ever. However he didn't want to lead him on when he still had feelings for that stupid model. He could feel his heart conflict as it split in two even further. Oh no, he loved them both. The boy who made him feel warm and the boy who had been there for him whenever he needed it.

"Well I guess I don't need to hide anymore." A feminine voice stated. Tikki flew out from her hiding place.

"Your kwami." Chat grinned.

"This is Tikki." Phil blushed. The small red kwami waved with a smile.

"How's Plagg?" The spotted kwami asked.

"Irritating." Chat grinned. "Would you like to see him?" Chat offered.

"Wait, you'll reveal your identity? Don't you want to keep it a secret?" Phil rushed.

Chat smiled sadly. "I know you wanted to keep them both secret but honestly I've wanted to reveal myself to you for a long time. Please, I don't want there to be any secrets between us. You're too important to me." Chat urged, taking Phil's hands. Phil felt himself melt a little.

He sighed. "Only if you're 100% sure." Phil bargained.

"Good thing I'm 110% sure then." Chat winked and Phil smiled despite himself. Phil held his breath as a green light filled his vision and slowly the suit and mask fell away until the boy beneath was left. Phil felt his eyes go wider than ever and his mouth dropped open in shock.

NO way.

"D-dan?!" Phil exclaimed in disbelief and Dan smiled sheepishly back, cheeks flushing red. He waved shyly at the boy, feeling vulnerable and exposed for the first time.

"Tikki! I missed you!" Plagg cheered and hugged his spotted friend.

"I missed you too Plagg. Ugh ... you still smell of cheese though." She wrinkled her nose trying to scramble out of his smelly grasp.

Phil didn't take notice - too bewildered that his long term crush was not only Chat Noire but also in love with him. HIM - Phil Lester, not Ladybug or a model. "B-but Nino said you were in love with a model." Phil found himself blurting.

Dan rubbed his neck sheepishly. "That was a lie, I couldn't say Ladybug had rejected me without explaining how we'd gotten into contact." Dan admitted. "Are you ... disappointed? I-I'm sorry for not recognising your feelings sooner. I guess I was blinded by Ladybug's image. As soon as I found out it was you, you were all I could think about though. I love you Phil." Dan smiled nervously.

Phil felt his eyes water. He'd never felt so happy in his life. "I love you too." He smiled back and then they were hugging tight - enjoying finally being in the arms of the one they loved most. Dan let out a breath of relief. "I'm so glad I found you." Phil pulled away, eyes still watery and giggled. Dan thought it was the most beautiful sound in the world. He gently kissed Phil's cheek - both their faces flushing red out of shyness.

"I'm glad you found me too." Phil replied softly.

"You're purrrfect my prince." Dan winked - a bit of Chat coming back into play.

Phil snorted and rolled his eyes. "Oh my god leave you dork."

Sorry I was going to write more but I got a bad stomach ache and needed to stop - I might change the ending to be longer in the future or do a different miraculous AU. Hope you guys liked it and I'm sorry for not uploading. Exams were a bitch.

Amazing artwork by imaglitchinthesystem - it is exactly how I envisioned Dark Poet :)
