Ice Cream and Kinks
"Phil, hurry up!" Dan said excitedly.
Phil walked out a second later, pulling on his jacket.
"Where are we going?"
Dan smiled and grabbed Phil's hand as they walked out of the apartment. He locked the door and began walking down the street, Phil's hand in his.
"Dan."
Dan turned to him, "You'll see."
They continued to walk down the street, admiring the city they rarely saw because they never leave the house.
"It's so pretty!" Dan exclaimed.
Phil looked at Dan, "You're prettier."
Dan turned to Phil with a smile, giving him a kiss.
"I'm really not, but thank you."
They walked in silence more, admiring the city.
"So when are you going to tell me where we're going?"
"I'm not telling you. You'll figure out when we get there. Be patient, Phil."
Phil let out an exaggerated sigh, Dan rolling his eyes in response.
After what felt like years of walking, they made it to their destination. Phil looked up and automatically knew what was going on.
"Ice cream? Really, Dan? We have ice cream at home, you know."
"I know, I just wanted to get outside for once and go on a date."
Phil smiled as Dan pulled him inside.
"Dan Howell wanting to go outside? God save us all."
Dan playfully shoved him, "Shut up." He grinned.
"What can I get you two?" The lady behind the counter asked.
"Mint chocolate chip for me," Phil said. "Dan?"
"Plain vanilla."
The lady nodded as she wrote their orders down.
"Really, Dan? Plain vanilla?"
"Yes, Phil. It represents my soul; blank and boring."
Phil rolled his eyes as the lady behind the counter giggled at them. Phil handed her the money for the ice cream.
"It'll be ready in a minute," she said.
Phil nodded and walked over to a nearby table. He and Dan sat down to wait for the ice cream. Phil took Dan's hands and held on to them.
"Phil, what are you doing?"
"You're not blank and boring."
"I'm not boring when it matters," Dan winked, "I was going to say, 'Blank and not kinky.' but she was right there, so."
"You are definitely kinky."
"I'm not that kinky," Dan said.
"Dan, I could write a one thousand page novel on all your kinks. We've been together for eight years and we've only gotten to try out half."
"Lies," Dan responded, but he was smiling now.
"Mint chocolate chip and plain vanilla." The lady from before said, sitting their ice cream on the counter.
"Right," Phil said before getting up to get the ice cream. He grabbed it and looked at them; they represented their personalities well.
Phil turned around to see Dan had disappeared.
"Dang it, Dan," Phil sighed, walking outside.
"Come on!" Dan shouted. He was a few yards down the sidewalk, waiting giddily for Phil to catch up.
Phil fast walked, not jogging so he didn't drop the ice cream. And ew, exercise. We're talking about Phil here.
"Thank you," Dan said as Phil handed him his ice cream. He took a small lick from the spoon. Dan grinned, an idea forming in his head.
"Phil, look," Dan swirled his tongue around the spoonful of ice cream.
"What are you doing?"
Dan licked his lips seductively and continued licking the spoon. Phil realized what he was doing soon after.
"Stop it," Phil tried to hide his smile.
"You know what I wish it was?"
Phil said nothing.
"I wish it was you."
"Dan, if you don't stop, we'll have to end this date early."
"I'm okay with that."
Phil took a lick of his own ice cream.
"Phil, guess what."
"Dan, if it's something sex related, I don't want to hear it right now."
Dan chuckled, "No, I seriously have something to tell you."
Phil turned to him, "What?"
Dan smiled a cheesy smile, "I love you."
Phil mock sighed and smiled, "I love you too, Dan."
"How much?" Dan asked.
"More than anything."
"Even cereal?"
"Not that much," They both laughed.
