"Rise and shine." Stefan and I quickly sit up. "You both will be late for school." Damon said "What are you- - what are you doing?" Stefan asked and Damon holds out two glasses of blood. "Peace offering." Stefan stands up. "Come on. You need it for blood circulation. Does dead flesh good. All right, I'm sorry." Damon said "Step aside, please." Stefan said and he walks out the room. "I got the town off our back. It was for the greater good, but I'm sorry. And to prove it, I'm not gonna feed on a human for at least a week. I'll adopt the Stefan diet, only nothin with feathers." Damon said and my phone rings so I answer it. "Hello?" I ask "Cause I realize that killing your closest and oldest friend is beyond evil, and yet somehow, it's worthy of humor." Stefan said "Is that Stefan?" Elena asked "Are you mimicking me?" Damon asked "And Damon." Care said "Hey. What's up? Kinda busy." I say "You're late." Care said "I gotta go." I say hanging up before either could say another word.

"Yes, Stefan. Now that the secret society of vampire haters is off our back, I can go back to my routine of how can I destroy Stefan's life this week." I say making them look towards where I am still on Stefan's bed. "And I can go back to sulking and Elena-longing and forehead brooding. This is fun. I like this. We should do Liv next." Damon said "And I will finally reveal the ulterior motive behind my evil and diabolical return to Mystic Falls." Stefan said "Yeah. I'm done. That's just like you, Damon. Always have to have the last word." Damon said and he walks out the room. I fall back on Stefan's bed. "Come on Grace we're gonna be late." Stefan said "But do I have to? Can't we just stay here?" I ask "As much as I would love to spend the day with you, I need to talk to your sister." Stefan said "Fine whatever." I say getting up grabbing my clothes from my bag.

-time skip-

I'm laying on the picnic table behind Stefan while we're waiting for Elena. "You know you don't have to sit here right?" Stefan asked "If I leave then I'm going to get questioned by Care why I was at your house when you're avoiding Elena and I'm not in the mood for that." I say and then I feel Stefan stand up. "Hi." Stefan said "You weren't in class. I was worried." Elena said "Yeah, I got your messages, and sorry I didn't get back to you, but... what I wanna say shouldn't be said over the phone." Stefan said "A simple "Liv and I didn't kill my brother" text would have sufficed." Elena said "Liv and I didn't kill my brother, as much as he deserved it. He has you to thank for that." Stefan said "So what did you wanna tell me?" Elena asked "I won't be coming to school anymore. I'm gonna back off and keep my distance. It's the right thing to do." Stefan said "Back off from school or... from me?" He doesn't say anything. "So you back off from me but you don't back off from my sister." She stops herself. "Thank you for telling me." Elena said "It's better this way." Stefan said "Yep. I got it." Elena said "You're angry. That's good. Be easier if you hate me." Stefan said

Auntie J, Jeremy and I are sitting at the grill. "I like a man who can dine alone. A quiet strength." Auntie J said "I thought you were still in that whole Logan depression thing." I say "Oh, I've sworn off men forever, but it doesn't mean I can't observe them from a safe distance." Auntie J said and I laugh. "Who even is that?" I ask "Well, I can introduce you." Jeremy said and Auntie J shakes her head. "Have you picked a topic?" Auntie J asked "No, not yet. It's gotta be local and non-internet research, so." Jer said "Well, that's easy. We got all of dad's stuff." I say "What stuff?" Jer asked "How the Gilbert's came over on the "Mayflower" stuff, all that family lineage from way back. Dad really loved all that family history stuff. It's all boxed up in the closet." I say and I notice the guy that Auntie J was talking about walking towards us.

"Mr. Saltzman." Jer said "Jeremy. What's up, man?" Mr. Saltzman said "This is my Aunt Jenna and this-" Jer said but Mr. Saltzman cut him off. "You're Elena, right?" Mr. Saltzman asked and I roll my eyes. "Elena and I are identical twins. I'm Liv." I say "You were the other name in the folder of Tanners." I look at him confused. "He had a folder labeled Jackass and it was a folder about you and Jeremy. I'm Alaric Saltzman. It's nice to meet you both." Mr. Saltzman said and I laugh about the Tanner part.  "Jeremy was just telling us about his paper. Thanks for giving him another chance." Auntie J said "Oh, you know, it was my first day. I wanted to make a good impression." Mr. Saltzman said and they stare at each other. I look at Jeremy and he looks at me. I see Stefan walking towards Damon who's at the bar so I lean closer to Jeremy. "Have fun. I'm going to talk to Stefan." I say "Liv don-" Jer goes to say but I cut him off by walking away.

I get to the bar at the same time Stefan does so I stand beside him. "So, Stefan. You know, I been thinkin'. I think we should start over, give this brother things another chance. We used to do it oh, so well once upon a time." Stefan said "I don't, Damon. I can't trust you to be a nice guy. You- you kill everybody, and you're so mean." I laugh slightly at Damon's voice for Stefan. "You're so mean, and. You're really hard to imitate, and then I have to go to that lesser place." Damon said "Can I get a coffee, please?" Stefan asked "Make that two." I say "So what's with the bottle?" Stefan asked "I'm on edge. Crash diet, and I'm trying to keep a low profile." Damon said "Mm. You could always just leave, find a new town to turn into your own personal gas 'n' sip." Stefan said "I'll manage. You know, you don't have to keep an eye on me." Damon said "We're not here to keep an eye on you." I say "So why are you here?" Damon asked "Why not?" Stefan asked grabbing the bottle before grabbing my hand dragging me with him.

Stefan throws a dart hitting the bullseye. "Lucky shot." Damon said "More like a carefully honed skill over many decades." Stefan said "You're beating me." Damon said "Well, yeah. It's because I'm better than you." Stefan said "I'm onto you. Reserve psychology. I mean, it's a little transparent, but I admire the effort." Damon said "You prefer the brooding forehead?" I ask and Stefan looks at me offended. Finn and Kol laugh from the empty table they're sitting at near us. "Seriously, what game do you two think you're playing?" Damon asked "That's a funny question considering the fact that I have been asking you that for months. It's frustrating, isn't it?" Stefan asked "Touché." Damon said

Stefan drags me with them to the high school football field. Stefan runs backwards as Damon and I walk towards him. "What are we doin' here?" Damon asked "More importantly, what am I doing here?" I ask "Bonding. Catch." Damon caught the ball one handed still holding the bottle of bourbon. He throws it back to Stefan. "Go on. Give it a try." Stefan said and Damon hands me the bottle of bourbon so I take a drink of it. "Liv! That's my bourbon." Damon said "Mine now motherfucker." I say smiling at him before sitting it down. He rolls his eyes looking at Stefan. "Don't forget who taught you how to play this game." Damon throws the ball before vamp speeding after it. I vamp speed after him before Stefan follows me.

Damon catches the ball before Stefan and I both tackle him to the ground. The three of us fall to the ground with me in the middle somehow. "Ow. That hurt." Damon said and I laugh sitting up. "Downside of my diet- - getting hit actually hurts a little bit." Stefan said "I'm impressed, Stefan. Fun with booze and darts, sentimental with football, and now starry night." Damon sits up and Stefan turns his head to look at Damon. "What do you want, Stefan?" Damon asked and Stefan sits up too. "Wasn't real, Damon. Our love for Katherine." Stefan said "Oh, god." Damon said "She compelled us. We didn't have a choice. Took me years to sort that out, to truly understand what she did to us." Stefan said "Oh, no, Stefan. We are not takin that on tonight." Damon said getting up and starting to walk away.

"What do you want with Katherine's crystal?" Stefan asked "How do you know about that?" Damon asked and Stefan and I both stand up. "Come on. You knew Elena would tell me." Stefan said "How did you know it was Katherine's? Emily gave it to her on her last night. I was with her and you weren't." Damon said "I was the last one to see her, Damon. Now, what do you want with Katherine's crystal?" Stefan asked "She didn't tell you?" Damon asked "We had other things on our mind." Stefan said and Damon vamp speeds right in front of Stefan. "I could rip your heart out and not think twice about it." Damon said "Yeah. I've heard that before." Stefan said "I have a bigger surprise, Stefan." Damon starts walking away before stopping. "I'm gonna bring her back." Damon said "Little does he know she's not there." Kol said "You're gonna do fucking do what now?" I ask as Stefan and I follow after him. "How can you bring Katherine back?" Stefan asked "Before Katherine and the others were killed in the church, you remember what it was like in this town?" Damon asked

"Yeah, I remember the fear and the hysteria." Stefan said "The townspeople were killing vampires one by one. When they came for Katherine, I went straight to Emily, said, "I'll do anything. Name your price. Just protect her." She did." Damon said "How?" Stefan and I ask in sync even though I knew Katherine wasn't in the tomb. "She did some kind of spell with the crystal. And while the church was burning and we thought Katherine was burning in it, she wasn't." Damon said "But I- -I saw her go inside." Stefan said "There's a tomb underneath the church. The spell sealed Katherine in that tomb, protecting her." Damon said "Are you telling us that Katherine's alive?" Stefan asked "Well, if that's what you wanna call it. She's been trapped in a mystical holding cell for the last century and a half. But you're an expert on starving a vampire, so how do you think she's doin', Stef? Did you know that witches can use celestial events to draw energy into their magic? Pfft. Me either. But in order to give the crystal it's power, Emily used the comet that was passing overhead, and in order for that crystal to work again..." Damon said "The comet had to return." I say

"Downside- - long time in between comets and a couple of hiccups along the way with the crystal, but the comet passed, and I got the crystal. And then Caroline got the crystal from Stacey, and now Bonnie has the crystal, and here we are." Damon said "Why would Emily- - why would she do this for you?" Stefan asked "Because she knew they were gonna come for her, too, and she made me promise that her lineage would survive." Damon said "I remember. You - you saved her children." Stefan said "Yeah. It's the only thing keeping me from ripping that little Bonnie girls throat out to get my crystal back. Oh, well. Deals a deal." Damon said "Yeah you kill Bonnie and I will rip your heart out before you'd get the chance to get your beloved Katherine back." I say "So fiesty, ástin." Finn said  "So.. you wanna go throw some more?" Damon asked

Stefan's phone rings and it's Elena. "What's wrong?" Stefan asked and I use vampire hearing to listen in. "It's Bonnie." Elena said and I run over to him. "What happened?" I ask leaning closer to the phone. "Emily is possessing her. She said something." Elena said "What did she say?" Stefan and I ask in sync. "She said, "I won't let him have it. It must be destroyed," and then she just left." Elena said "Okay. Where do you think she went?" Stefan asked "I don't know. Fell's Church, by the old cemetery. That's where she took Bonnie in her dreams. We have to help her, Stefan." Elena said "All right. All right. Just stay there. Liv and I are gonna go find her." Stefan said hanging up and that's when I notice Damon is gone. "Fuck! Stefan." I say and he turns towards me and I point to where Damon was.

-time skip-

Stefan and I get to Fells Church and I see Damon impaled to a tree. "Stefan!" I say and I run over to Damon. We pull Damon off the tree branch. "Oh, that hurt. This is why I feed on people." Damon said and I see Bonnie look up. "Stefan. Olivia." Emily said as Bonnie. "Hello, Emily." Stefan said "Emily." I say nodding at her in greeting. "How does she know you?" Kol asked and I shrug slightly even though I knew exactly why she knew who I was. "These people don't deserve this. They should never have to know such evil." Emily said "What do you mean evil?" I ask "Emily, I swear to god I'll make you regret this." Damon said slowly standing up. "I won't let you unleash them into this world." Emily said "Them?" I ask "What part of the story did you leave out, Damon?" Stefan asked "What does it matter?" Damon asked "Em, tell me what you did." I say and her nickname falls from my lips before I can stop it as I take small steps towards her and the fire ring. "To save her, I had to save them." Emily said "So you're telling me that you saved all the vampires in the church?" I ask "With one comes all." Emily said "I don't care about that. I just want Katherine." Damon said using Stefan to stand up.

"I knew I shouldn't have believed a single word that comes out of your mouth. This isn't about love, is it? This is about revenge." Stefan said "The two aren't mutually exclusive." Damon said "Damon, you can't do this." Stefan said "Why not? They killed 27 people, and they called it a war battle. They deserve whatever they get." Damon said "27 fucking vampires, Damon. They were vampires. You can't just bring them back." I say "This town deserves this." Damon said "You're blaming innocent people for something that happened 145 years ago." I say "There is nothing innocent about these people, and don't think for a second it won't happen again. They already know too much, and they'll burn your little grandwitch right next to us when they find out. Trust me." Damon said "And who's fucking problem is that? Huh, Damon? Who fucking came into this town drinking human after human dry? Oh that's right. It was fucking you. Stefan drinks animal, I drink bags, so that leaves you to be killing the humans. If anything they found out because of your human drinking ass. Lexi died because of you. If anymore of my friends or if any of my family dies because of you Damon so help me fucking god I will put you six feet in the ground right next any of those vampires that come out that tomb." I push him with every word that I say until Stefan grabs me. "Let me fucking go!" I yell kicking in Stefan's grasp. "Liv calm down." Stefan said and I stop moving when Emily speaks again.

"Things are different now." Emily said "Don't do this." Damon said "I can't free them. I won't. Olivia, you know what comes next. You know what you have to do. Incendia!" Emily chants causing fire to come up around her. Emily yanks the necklace from Bonnie's neck and I see Bonnie's appearance change to Emily. "No. No. No, please." Damon said "Bonnie!" Elena yells running towards us making me roll my eyes. Stefan leaves my side to go to Elena. Emily throws the necklace up in the air and it explodes. "No!" Damon yells and the fire disappears before Bonnie looks around in confusion. Damon quickly moved towards Bonnie. He attacks her before I quickly vamp speed towards him throwing him off snarling at him. "Feed her your blood Stefan." I say and he drops down beside her and I hear her heart beating. "She's alive, but barely. I can save her." Stefan said and he forces his hand to her mouth so she drinks his blood. "Her neck, it's healing." Elena said

Stefan and I walk over to Damon who's sitting by himself. "Katherine never compelled me. I knew everything every step of the way. It was real for me. I'll leave now." Damon said and then we walk towards Elena and Bonnie. "I don't understand, Elena, what happened to me. He attacked me, and... his face was like..." Bonnie said "How do you feel? Are you okay?" Elena asked "I'm fine. It's- - it's just this blood. I don't..." Bonnie said but she stops when she sees Stefan and I. "I'm not gonna hurt you." Stefan said "What's going on, Elena?" Bonnie asked "I'll explain everything, Bonnie, okay? Let's just get out of here." She looks at Stefan and he nods. "Bonnie. Bonnie, look at me. Trust me. He's not going to hurt you. Come on. Come on." Elena puts Bonnie in the car and walks back over to us. "Is she in danger of becoming - -" Elena goes to say but I cut her off. "No. No, she had to die with vampire blood in her system, so keep an eye on her tonight and make sure that nothing happens, and once it leaves her system, she'll be fine." I say "I'm gonna tell her the truth." Elena said "You sure?" Stefan asked "Yeah, tell Bonnie but have Damon compel Jeremy. How the hell does that make sense?" I ask myself quietly.

"I can trust her. I need someone to know, someone to talk to. I can't live in secret." Elena said making me scoff rolling my eyes. "I know that. Shouldn't have to." Stefan said "You saved her life. Both of you did. I'm sorry, Stefan. I thought that... I couldn't be with you, but I can. You don't have to push me away. I can do this." Elena said grabbing Stefan's hands. "I can't. I, uh- - I have to leave, Elena. Too many people have died. Too much has happened." Stefan said and I spin to look at him. He shakes his head slightly that only I could see. "What? No. I know you think you're protecting me, but - -" Elena said "I have to. Coming home was- - it was a mistake. I can't be a part of your life anymore." Stefan said "Don't go, Stefan. Please... you don't have to. This is your home. You- - just please don't go." Elena begs and Stefan kisses her hands. "Good-Bye, Elena." Stefan said and he walks towards me. Once he reaches me, I put my arm through Stefan's. "You're just gonna walk away and towards my sister? Don't walk away, Stefan! Stefan!" Elena yells

-time skip-

Stefan and I go back to the Boarding House. Stefan sits down on his bed and I sit down beside of him. Stefan looks down at his journal before standing up and throwing the journal on the bed beside me. I look up at him and he has tears in his eyes making me get up and walk towards him. "Stef, hey, Stef. Come here." I open my arms and he instantly hugs me. He starts breaking down. "Hey. Hey. Shh. It's okay." He puts his head on my shoulder squeezing me tighter. "It's okay. Let it all out. I got you." I say and after a little bit he calms down. "Why does he have to ruin everything?" Stefan asked " I don't know Stef. I don't know." I say
