Stefan and I are standing outside of the cell that Damon is in. "Where is my ring?" Damon asked "Won't be needing it anymore." Stefan said "How long have I been here?" Damon asked "Three days." I say "What are you doing?" Damon asked "During the dark ages when a vampire's actions threatened to expose or bring harm upon the entire race, they would face judgment. They sought to reeducate them rather than to punish them." Stefan said "You know what will happen if i don't... Feed on blood." Damon said "You'll grow weaker and weaker. Eventually you won't be able to move or speak. In a week your skin will desiccate, and you'll mummify. A living corpse. Unable to hurt anyone. Ever." Stefan said "So what, you're just going to leave me in the basement, forever?" Damon asked "I've injected you with enough vervain to keep you weak. Once your circulation stops, I'll move you to the family crypt, and then in 50 years, we can reevaluate." Stefan said "I'm stronger than you think." Damon said "You always have been. But you're not stronger than the vervain. And we both know it. I'm sorry. Didn't have to be this way." Stefan said "I gotta get back home before Elena wakes up and starts asking questions." I say and Stefan nods so I vamp speed to my house and walking in the door normally.

I'm sitting beside of Auntie J in the kitchen when I hear the bathroom door open. "I--i'm sorry, i'm almost done." Vicki said "It's--it's ok. Take your time." Elena said and I hear Vicki go back to Jers room. I laugh making Auntie J look at me. "What?" Auntie J asked "Elena saw Vicki in the bathroom." I say "I think you might be in trouble." Vicki said "What did you do?" Jer asked "Oh, she saw me." Vicki said "I'm a drug-using delinquent. A girl in bed doesn't really rank." Jer said and Elena comes down the stairs. "Jenna! Liv! Are you both aware of what's going on upstairs?" Elena asked "Uh-huh." Auntie J and I say in sync. "And you have no objection?" Elena asked "He could be craftier about it, at least make an effort to sneak her in and out." I say "Yeah and oh, and just so you both know, I won't be home for dinner." Auntie J said "Oh, so you're actually going to do it. You're gonna go out with Logan." I say "I'm going to show up and torture him, yes. And Elena have you heard from Stefan?" Auntie J asked knowing that's where I came from.

"Not since that very vague message three days ago. "Hi, um, Elena, I, um, have something I have to do. I'll, uh, explain in a few days." Elena said "Haven't you called him?" Auntie J asked "Nope. Not going to, either." Elena said "And you're ok with everything?" Auntie J asked "No, I'm not ok with any of it. But I'm not gonna cry about it, either. You know, I was going to write in my diary this morning and then I thought, what am I going to write? Honestly, i'm not gonna be onee of those pathetic girls whose world stops spinning because of some guy." Elena said "Okay, then." I say "I'll be fine." Elena said "But she totally is one of those girls. So is she calling herself pathetic?" Kol asked and a laugh slips out before I mask it with a cough.

I'm standing at my locker watching Stacey who is acting like nothing happened. "The sexy suds car wash is tomorrow. The football team and the band have committed. Well, not all the band. Just the ones who could pull off the bikini. I want, in your face, sexy. I mean, it's a fund raiser, for god's sake." Stacey said "Unbelievable. It's like nothing happened." Elena said "Lies and denial." Bonnie said and I see Stefan walk up to them. "Hey." Stefan said "Hey. You know, I gotta go. Be somewhere right now." Bonnie said and she left. "I'm so sorry I haven't called." Stefan said "No worries. I'll live." Elena said "I was dealing with Damon." Stefan said "And did you... deal with Damon?" Elena asked "Yes. Yeah." Stefan said

"For four days?" Elena asked "You have every right to be upset with me. But can I explain it all to you? Please." Stefan said "Sure. When?" Elena asked "I gotta be home after school, but the Grill, on four o'clock?" Stefan asked "Ok." Elena said "Thanks." Stefan said and Stacey walked up to them. "Stefan, where is Damon? He has some serious apologizing to do." Stacey said "He's gone, Stacey." Stefan said "When is he coming back?" Stacey asked "He's not coming back. I'm sorry." Stefan said "This is a good thing, Stacey." Elena said "I know that." Stacey said and I walked up to them making them look at me. "Hey, Stef. I'm still coming to yours after school? Like we talked about this morning?" I ask "So you talked to Liv but didn't talk to me for four days? And you saw her this morning?" Elena asked looking between the two of us. "Elena we were friends long before you two met. No need to get jealous." I say and I walk away smirking a little. "And the drama continues." Finn said and I laugh a little because he's becoming more and more like Kol every day.

I was in the Grill and I saw Elena walk up to Matt. "Hey, Matt, um, have you seen Stefan?" Elena asked "Nope. If you want to kill some time, um, you can rack. Come on. We haven't played in forever. I'll let you brick" Matt said "And there's Vicki, all nonchalant in the bathroom like it's no big deal that they're hooking up." Elena said "Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. Your brother and my sister, that's weird." Matt said "Yeah." Elena said "How late is he?" Matt asked "Hitting the hour mark. Hope there's nothing wrong. Which means I'm not talking boy problems with you." Elena said "Good. I mean, it's not like we were ever best friends or anything." Matt said "Ok. Here goes-- What do you think of Stefan? Is he a good guy?" Elena asked "Why? what's he done?" Matt asked

"Not any one thing. He's just so secretive all the time. I think there's something that he doesn't want me to know, which makes me want to know all the more. Even Liv knows this secret that he doesn't want me to know." Elena said "Like what? like that he's a serial killer and he keeps a clown suit in his trunk and Liv is his accomplice?" Matt asked making me laugh a little. "No, of course not. But what do we know about him, really?" Elena asked "He's great at football. A little bit of a loner. And as much as I hate saying it, he might be a nice guy." Matt said "So you think I'm just being paranoid?" Elena asked "I think you should talk to him." Matt said and at that moment I see Stefan walking over to them. "Talk to who? I'm so sorry that I'm late." Stefan said "What happened?" Elena asked "I got held up." Stefan said "Is everything ok?" Elena asked "There was this thing with my uncle." Stefan said "And you couldn't call and tell me that you were going to be an hour late?" Elena asked "Ok. You two have fun." Matt said and he walked away. "I'm really sorry. It was unavoidable." Stefan said "What was unavoidable?" Stefan doesn't say anything. "Okay." Elena said getting her stuff. "Oh, uh, Elena, please..." Stefan said "No, Stefan, don't you get it? Every question gets a vague non-answer. What is so awful that you're afraid to tell me?" Elena asked and an older man walks up to Stefan and Elena.

"I know you. My god." The man said "Uh oh. Stefan's in trouble." Kol said  "I'm sorry?" Stefan asked "I know you. How can it be?" The man asked "I think you have the wrong person, sir." Stefan said "You haven't aged a day." The man said and that's when it clicked that the man knew Stefan years ago. "I'm sorry. excuse me. Hey, can we-- can i take you home and we can talk about it? Is that ok?" Stefan asked "Wait, what was that?" Elena asked "I--i don't know. uh, nothing." Stefan said "Right, nothing. Ok, um... I gotta go, Stefan. Excuse me." Elena said and she left. I walk over to Stefan. "Good job Stef." I say "Can you help me?" Stefan asked "Go ask Jer. I'm no longer nice to my sister." I say and walk out the door before vamp speeding home. I walk in the door and up to my room.

I'm up in my room when I hear Elena come in. Stefan was in the kitchen cooking for Elena. "You ok?" Jer asked her. "Is Vicki in there?" Elena asked "Don't answer a question with another question. Maybe. What's wrong with you?" Jer asked "I'm miserable." Elena said making me roll my eyes. "What happened to not being one of those pathetic girls?" Kol asked "Oh my god, shut up." I say laughing and they smile. "Well, you should go get something to eat." Jeremy said "Jenna? Jenna? Stefan? What are you doing here?" Elena asked "Dinner. Jeremy told me that chicken parmesan is one of your favorites, and I happen to be a good cook. The italian roots demand it. I can even make my own homemade mozzarella. Only tonight, it is unfortunately store bought. Sorry." Stefan said

"I don't know what you're trying to accomplish." Elena said "You want to know me, right? Well, I figure if you're going to dump me, you should at least, um, know who you're dumping. So let's start with Katherine." Stefan said making me laugh a little. "Oh this is gonna be fun." I say quietly "Stefan..." Elena said "She was... the most beautiful girl that I had ever met. She had this perfect olive skin. And she had this laugh. It was ridiculous. I mean, her laugh made you laugh. And she was fun. She knew how to have a good time. But Katherine was also very impatient and entitled and selfish, and, um, and impulsive. Enter Damon. He claims that he was with her first. I don't know. I do know that I did some things that...i'm not proud of. And my biggest regret... Is not being able to make it right before she died. I miss her, but... I'm no longer crippled by her loss." Stefan said

"It was very nice what you did for Stefan. Very romantic." Vicki said from Jers room. "Well, I was feeling romantic."  Jer said "Look what I found. "Elena Gilbert, take one tablet every 4 to 6 hours, as needed for pain." Vicki said making me scoff. "Those are left over from the car accident." Jer said "So she won't miss them." Vicki said "No not with that, that's an antique. I feel like we're always getting high." Jer said "That's the beauty of choice." Vicki said "Well, then let's choose not to. I mean, we don't have to be high all the time, right?" Jer asked "I really hope you're not one of those guys who, now that we're together, tries to change everything about me." Vicki said "No." Jer said "Good." Vicki said

"I'm an avid reader, a huge Fitzgerald fan, "The Great Gatsby", his masterpiece. But I'm no snob. I love some good Grisham. I think Seinfeld is the best american television show for the past 50 years, but i love Lucy is all-time. "The loving cup" episode was the best, I think. Huge Scorsese fan. I can watch Taxi Driver over and over again." Stefan said "Here, let me." Elena said "As far as music, it's pretty much across the board. Um, Dylan, Hendrix, Patsy, Willie. Oh, Kanye. You know what, I even like that one Miley song. Easy." Stefan said "I didn't say anything. Hey, this is for the garlic bread, right? Because I'm not eating garlic unless you agree to, too." Elena said "Are you kidding? I love garlic." Stefan said and suddenly I smell blood. "Ow! ahh." Elena said and that tells me that it's Elena's blood. "You ok? um..." Stefan said "Yeah. Think so. Your face..." Elena said "Fuck." I whisper. "I--i, uh, I think i got something in my eye." Stefan said "Stefan. Hey. Stefan! Um, I think that my paranoia has turned into full-blown hallucinations." Elena said "Part of your charm." Stefan said "That was so embarrassing." Finn said and I laugh. "Trust me, I know. That's all she ever is." I say

Stefan and I walk down into the cellar where Damon is being held. "I bet you're feeling pretty good about yourself, aren't you?" Damon asked "Not particularly." Stefan said "You won. You got the bad guy. Now nothing could come between you and Elena. Except the truth and maybe Liv. The lies will catch up to you, Stefan. As long as you keep lying to yourself about what you are." Damon said "The beauty of you in there and me out here... Is that i can walk away." Stefan said and we walk upstairs.

I'm at the car wash that Caroline forced me to come to. "Do they have one of these every football season?" I nod slightly because I can't answer him out loud. "That is amazing. You look beautiful." Kol asked and I scoff at him before turning my attention to Care. "No friend discounts. No freebies. No pay ya laters. We are not running a charity here. No, we are not." Caroline said and that's when I see Stefan and Elena walk up to each other. "Hi." Stefan said "Hey!" Elena said and Care walks up to them. "The event is called sexy suds, you know." Care said "Did we just get scolded?" Stefan asked "And judged, yeah." Elena said "Wow." Stefan said "I'm sorry, but I guess you're going to have to take that off." Elena said "I think you have to go first." Stefan said and Elena struggles to take off whatever she has over her shirt. "Ok. Ok, um--sorry, So not sexy. Ugh." Elena said "I disagree." Stefan said

I see Matt staring at Elena and Stefan so I walk over to him and Bonnie. "Uh-uh, no. None of that tortured pining stuff." I say "I'm just observing." Matt said "Mm-hmm. Oh. Tiki. this one's yours." Bonnie said "Why do I always get the homely one? Just to be clear, your car's a p.o.s. I mean, we can wash it, but it's still a p.o.s." Tiki said "You don't have to be rude." Bonnie said "Rude is uglying up the road with that junk." Tiki said and I see Bonnie staring at Tiki who was putting water in the bucket. Suddenly the water explodes soaking Tiki. "Whoa! What the hell?" Tiki asked "Wet and wild, Tik." Matt said going over behind her.

"You're getting soap in that." Elena said and I look over to her pointing at his daylight ring. "Oh, it's fine." Stefan said "I noticed at Damon has one, too. Is there a story behind it?" Elena asked "Yeah, it's the family crest from the italian renaissance." Stefan said "Hmm. What's the stone?" Elena asked "It's called lapus lazuli." Stefan said "Oh. You should really take it off. I could put it in my bag." Elena said making me laugh quietly. I see Stefan looking over at me making me smile at him. "No, it's-- it's fine, really. Thanks, though." Stefan said "Ok. I'm gonna get some towels." Elena said "Ok." Stefan said and Elena walked away. I walk up to Stefan. "God you might as well scream 'Look at me I'm a murderous vegetarian vampire.' Like come on Stef you should of thought about a story to tell people for every question that they could ask about your random weird behavior because of being on Team Vamp." I say "Hey, we're out of towels and those shimmy things." Elena said to Stacey and Care. "I'll go get some more. Mind the money." Stacey said and she walked away.

"That'll be $20. I saw you last night. You were talking to a friend of mine, At the grill?" Elena said and I look over and see that guy from the Grill that knew Stefan. "Well, i--i thought it was somebody I knew." The man said "Stefan Salvatore." Elena said "Nah, it can't be. It's just my mind playing tricks on me." The man said "Where do you think you'd seen him before?" Elena asked "When I first moved here, I stayed at the Salvatore boarding house." The man said "Oh." Elena said "Stefan was just passing through to visit his uncle. I mean, none of us knew he was even here until the attack." The man said "The attack?" Elena asked "His uncle got killed. Mauled by an animal in the woods." The man said and I knew that was an excuse for a vampire.

"His uncle, Zach?" Elena asked "Mm-mmm. Joseph." The man said "I'm sorry, sir. I don't think I'm familiar with the story." Elena said "Oh, how could you? I mean, this happened years ago." The man said and I see Tiki walk up to them. "Grandpa, you gotta go. Mom wants you home. Ok?" Tiki asked "Ah." The man said "He wasn't bugging you, was he? He's a little alzy-heimer." Tiki said "No, he was sweet." Elena catches up with the man. "Hey, sir, I'm sorry. Um, are you sure that the man that you saw, that you knew, his name was Stefan Salvatore?" Elena asked "Yes. I remember his ring and his brother--" The man said before Elena cut him off. "Damon?" Elena asked "Yeah. Stefan and Damon Salvatore." The man said "When was this?" Elena asked "It was early June, 1953. Yeah. June, 1953." The man said and I turned to look at Stefan. "She will put the pieces together eventually Stefan. She doesn't know when to leave something alone." I say and he walks up to her. "He's going to get you found out." Finn said

"Caroline finally freed you, huh?" Stefan asked "Uh, I don't know where she went. She abandoned me. Hey, I realized earlier, I had no idea that your family was from Italy." Elena said "No? Last name Salvatore didn't do it for you?" Stefan asked "Right. Duh. Are there any other Salvatores in Mystic Falls?" Elena asked "My uncle Zach." Stefan said "Where did everyone else go?" Elena asked making me laugh quietly. "Way to be desecrate Elena." I say   "Kinda just spread out." Stefan said "Hmm." Elena said "Why?" Stefan asked "I'm just trying to learn more about you." Elena said "Hmm." Stefan said

-time skip-

"Sweeper duty." Tiki said "What?" Bonnie asked "We have to clean the pavement." Tiki said "It's a car wash. By definition, the pavement's clean." I say "But not dry. Tiki said "And I'm doing this why?" Bonnie asked "Caroline bailed, so that leaves me in charge." Tiki said and I see Bonnie staring at Tiki's car. Suddenly her car catches on fire. I see Stefan run over to us quickly. "Bonnie! Bonnie! Bonnie! Hey." I say "What just happened?" Bonnie asked "You were in some kind of a trance." Stefan said "Did I do this?" Bonnie asked "I think so, yes." Stefan skid "Nobody else saw, did they? Don't tell anybody. Please." Bonnie asked looking between us. "I won't, I promise but I think you need to talk to Miss Shelia." I say and she nods.

-time skip-

Stefan and I walk into the boarding house. I see the door to the cellar open. "Stef." I say pointing to the door. We both go running down the stairs. "Zach!" Stefan yelled. But as we get to the end of the stairs we are met with Zach's body and Damon's cell door standing wide open. "Oh, no, Zach..." Stefan said "We need to find Damon. He hasn't had blood in days, so you know as well as I do that he is killing god knows how many people right now." I say Stefan vamp speeds up the stairs and I follow him with vamp speed. I see him grab a stake before walking towards the door. That's when I hear the blood pumping and fast heartbeat on the other side of the door. "Stefan wai-" I go to say but he already opens the door and Elena turns around. Stefan stops at the door and I stop behind him. "What are you?" Elena asked
