I see him grab a stake before walking towards the door. That's when I hear the blood pumping and fast heartbeat on the other side of the door. "Stefan wai-" I go to say but he already opens the door and Elena turns around. Stefan stops at the door and I stop behind him. "What are you?" Elena asked

"What are you? What are you?" Elena asked "You know." Stefan said "No, I don't." Elena said "Yes, you do, or you wouldn't be here." Stefan said "It's not possible. It can't be." Elena said "Everything you know... And every believe that you have is about to change. Are you ready for that?" Stefan asked "What are you?" Elena asked "I'm a vampire." Stefan said and Elena's heartbeat start getting faster. "I shouldn't have come." Elena said and she starts back to her car. "No. Please." Stefan said and he used vamp speed to get in front of Elena. "No. No. How did you do that?" Elena asked "She's so stupid." Kol said "Ástin, how is she your sister?" Finn asked "Please don't be afraid of me." Stefan said "Let me go. Liv help me!" Elena said and I roll my eyes from where I stand on the porch. "No. Elena, there's things that you have to know and understand." Stefan said "Let me go!" Elena said "Elena, please." Stefan said

-time skip-

Stefan and I go to my house where Elena is.
"Elena. I would never hurt you. You're safe with me." Stefan said "All those animal attacks, those people who died--" Elena said before Stefan cut her off. "No. That was Damon." Stefan said "Damon?" Elena asked "Yes. I don't drink human blood. That's not how I choose to survive, but Damon does. I'll explain everything to you, but I beg you, Elena, do not tell anybody." Stefan said "How can you ask me that?" Elena asked making me roll my eyes. "It's easy simple, just keep your damn mouth shut and don't tell anyone." I say "Because you knowing this is dangerous for so many reasons. You can hate me, but I need you to trust me." Stefan said "Just go. Just go, please. Go. If you mean me no harm, then just go." Elena said "I never wanted this." Stefan said "I'll find you later Stef." I say and he nods before leaving.

As soon as he left Elena turned to me glaring at me. "You knew?!" Elena asked yelling at me making me wince because of my vampire hearing. "First off Elena don't shout at me. And secondly yes I knew, I've known for months. I met both him and Damon during the summer. Now I have to go and help Stefan find Damon thanks to Stacey's dumbass." I walk out of the house. "Boys find Damon for me please." I say and they nod before disappearing. I vamp speed to Stefan's location. As soon as I come to a stop beside him his phone rings. "Hello." Stefan said "I want my ring." Damon said "Where are you?" Stefan asked "I'm at the sizzler. I had the buffet. Where's my ring?" Damon asked "I don't have it. Where are you? What have you done?" Stefan asked "No, what have you done? You're the one that locked me in the basement and starved me, so whatever I've done, whoever i've sucked dry is on you, buddy." Damon said "You're being careless. How many more animal attacks is this town gonna believe, huh?" Stefan asked "I know how to cover my tracks, Stefan. Where's my ring?" Damon asked "I gave it to Zach to hide. Probably shouldn't have killed him." Stefan said "Ah, you almost got me. Where is it?" Damon asked "I'll get it back, but I need time." Stefan said "What, did you fedex it to Rome? Where is it? I want my ring, Stefan, or my next stop's Elena's." Damon said "I already want you dead. Don't give me another reason to make it happen." Stefan said "Don't give me another reason to rip you apart." Damon said "Yeah? Is that gonna be before or after you get your ring back?" I ask "Just get it." Damon said and he hung up.

Elena walks over to Stefan and I at the coffee place. "You just don't wanna die, do you? You said you would explain everything. That's why I asked you to meet me here. When you google "vampire," you get a world of fiction. What's the reality?" Elena asked "I can tell you whatever you wanna know." Stefan said "I know you eat garlic." Elena said "Yes." Stefan said "And somehow, sunlight's not an issue." Elena said before the waitress brought our drinks. "Here's your drinks." The waitress said sitting down our drinks. "Thank you." Elena and I say in sync. "We have rings that protect us." Stefan said and I subconsciously play with my ring. "Crucifixes?" Elena asked "Decorative." Stefan said "Holy water?" Elena asked "Drinkable." Stefan said "Mirrors?" Elena asked "Myth." Stefan said "She is literally the human that makes all other humans look bad." Kol said "No brother. I believe that is the serial killers our dear soulmate is obsessed with." Finn said

"You said you don't kill to survive." Elena said "Animal blood keeps me alive, but not as strong as Damon. It can be very powerful." Stefan said "And yet you let him get involved with Stacey?" Elena asked making me roll my eyes. "Forcing Damon not to do something is much more dangerous, believe me. Trying to force Damon to not do something is like trying to tell you to not pretend to be Jeremy's mother, it's just not gonna happen." I say and she glares at me making me smirk at her.  "He was hurting her." Elena said "He was feeding on her. He was able to take away her memories of being bitten using a form of mind compulsion. She never knew what was happening to her. If he wanted to kill her, he would have." I say "Is that supposed to make it ok?" Elena asked and I shrug because I'm not the person to ask this because there's times I kill people for fun because I'm bored.  "No. no, none of this is ok, Elena. I know that." Stefan said "Are there any others, aside from you and Damon?" Elena asked and Stefan glanced at me but Elena didn't see. I barely shook my head keeping eye contact with Stefan so he'd get the hint. "Not in Mystic falls, not anymore." Stefan said "Not anymore?" Elena asked "I can't wait to see her face when she finds out her sister is a vampire." Kol said

"There was a time when this town was... Very much aware of vampires, and it didn't end well for anybody. That's why it's important that you don't tell anyone." Stefan said "I can't promise that." Elena said and I scoff leaning up towards her. "Do you want Stefan murdered by the town council? Because that's what would happen if you said anything to anyone. So Elena, I suggest you keep what you know to yourself because I don't really want to kill the towns founders. Because I would if it meant protecting Stefan and Damon." I say and Stefan pulls me backwards away from Elena. "Elena... Give me today. I will answer any questions that you have, and when it's over, you can decide for yourself what you wanna do with what you know. It'll be your choice." Stefan said making me scoff.

All three of us are in Elena's car driving to the old Salvatore Estate back when the brothers were human. "Stop here." Stefan said and Elena does. All three of us get out of the car. "What are we doing here?" Elena asked "I want to show you something." Stefan said "In the middle of nowhere?" Elena asked "This... Didn't use to be nowhere. Used to be my home." Stefan said "It looks so..." Elena goes to say. "Old? It's because they are." Stefan said "Wait. How long have you..." Elena goes to ask but stops herself. "I've been 17 years old since 1864." Stefan said "Oh, my god." Elena said "You said you wanted to know. I'm not gonna hold anything back. Half century before the Boarding House was even built, this was my family's home. Damon and I... We were both born here. The Salvatore brothers, best of friends." Stefan said "You knew Katherine in 1864? Damon made it seem like..." Elena said "Damon was trying to make you think that... I was still heartbroken. He saw that I was happy with you, and he wanted to ruin it." Stefan said "All because you loved the same girl 145 years ago?" Elena asked

"She wasn't just any girl. She chose me. I escorted her to the ball at the original Lockwood mansion." Stefan said "The first founder's party... Where you signed the registry." Elena said "I didn't care that I had gotten something that my brother wanted. I didn't even care if it hurt him. I only knew that I wanted her." Stefan said "So he was upset." Elena said "That's the thing about Damon. He doesn't get mad. He just gets even. What Damon wants, Damon usually gets. I didn't know it at the time, but... Turns out that night... Katherine was with him, too." Stefan said "So he stole her from you, not the other way around?" Elena asked "Turns out she wasn't ours to steal. She could control my mind and Damon's. She compelled each of us to keep the secret from the other. She wanted all of us to be together forever. Didn't work out that way, but..." I go to where I hid Damon's ring and started to unwrap it and hold it in front of me. "Damon and I, looks like we're stuck with each other... Like it or not." Stefan said and I walk back over to them. "Is that Damon's ring?" Elena asked "I took it from him, but I have to give it back." Stefan said looking at it since it was still in my hand. "No. don't, Stefan. keep it hidden." Elena said making me roll my eyes. "Elena, if i don't give it to him, he'll retaliate in the only way that he knows he can hurt me." Stefan said "And how is that?" Elena asked "By hurting you." Stefan said "I was gonna give it back to him anyways. Was gonna let him suffer a little bit first though." I say and Stefan looks at me before looking back at Elena. "I wonder if he knows yet." Finn said "Oh brother, he knows. He's just wrapped up in the fact that he believes that she is human and seemingly better than Katerina. Which is very obviously not the case." Kol said

We walk back to Elena's car. "The mind control... You said Katherine used. Do you ever do that to me?" Elena asked "No. That necklace, it contains an herb called vervain. It protects you from being compelled. I wanted to protect you from Damon's influence. But I also wanted to... Protect you from me. All right, you should never take that necklace off... Because no matter what happens after today, no matter how you feel about me... You'll know that you were free to make your own choice." Stefan said

-time skip-

Stefan, Elena and I walk into the house and I hear someone get pushed against the couch
"Jer, are you ok ?" Matt asked "I'm fine. i'm fine." Jeremy said "Damn, Vick." Matt said and I walk into the room. "What the fuck is going on?" I ask "She's really messed up." Matt said and that's when I start to notice the signs. Stefan and I share a look. "Elena, back up. Vicki, look at me. Focus. You're gonna be fine. Everything's gonna be fine." Stefan said "Guys, take her up to bed. Shut the blinds. She's gonna be ok. Come on. Come on." I say "You two know what's wrong with her?" Elena asked "Yeah." Stefan said "What is it?" Elena asked "She's transitioning." Stefan said "Transitioning to what?" Elena asked "A vampire. What else would she be turning into? A fucking unicorn and shooting rainbows out her ass?" I ask sarcastically and Kol starts laughing beside me.  "What?" Elena asked "Damon must have gotten to her. She's new. She hasn't completed her transformation yet." Stefan said "H-how does she do that?" Elena asked "She has to feed on human blood." I say "And what if she doesn't?" Elena asked "She'll be getting a visit from the Grim Reaper in a couple hours." Both of them look at me like I'm not helping the situation. "What? I'm sorry she tried to kill me, fucked me over and is now screwing our 15 year old little brother and keeping him high. I could give a fuck less that she's potentially dying and if she does drink and fully transition, she's gonna die anyways." I say

"She's upstairs with him right now." Elena said "It's ok. She doesn't know what's happening to her yet." Stefan said "So when is she gonna know?" Elena asked "Right now, she doesn't remember anything. A part of her is still human, but slowly, the deeper she gets into the transition, the memories will start to come back, and then she'll know she has to make the choice." Stefan said "The same choice you made?" Elena asked making me scoff rolling my eyes. "Elena the choice he made was a reasonable choice. It's either die or become become a vampire and life forever unless someone decides to kill you by stabbing with a stake, ripping your heart out, or ripping your head off your shoulders. I'd make the same choice in a heartbeat." I say and she looked at me with shock and slight disgust. Vicki comes running down the stairs and out the door. We all go out the door after her. I hear Jeremy come out the door behind us. "She was fine, and then she just-- she just freaked out." Jeremy said "I'm gonna go look for her. Call me if you hear anything." Matt said "I can track her." Stefan said "Go." Elena said "I'll go hit some of her favorite spots that she took me to." I say lying cause I was also going to track her. I look at Stefan and he nods. We both run off in different directions and once I'm hidden away from the house I vamp speed to where I have a feeling that she will be.

Stefan and I reach the cemetery at the same time. "Vick." I say and I sit beside her and she hugs me from the side. Stefan stands beside us looking down at her. "I'm starting to remember things, what he is, what he said. I remember you. The hospital, the--the rooftop, it's all coming back." Vicki said looking at Stefan. "I'm so sorry. Damon had no right to do this to you." Stefan said "He said that I need to feed. What will happen if i don't?" Vicki asked "You'll fade quickly... And then it'll all just be over." I say "I'll be dead." Vicki said "Hey." Stefan said and he sits beside me. "I don't want this." Vicki said

"I know. It'll be ok. You're gonna be ok. I can help you." Stefan said "Is it better? Is it better? Will I be better? I wanna go home. Will you take me home?" Vicki asked "Ok." Stefan said and he stands up and then I hear a gunshot and I see Stefan bleeding. "Stef!" I yell and he falls to the ground. I'm holding Vicki back and I see Logan Fell holding the gun and he walks over to Stefan and I see him holding a stake. Logan goes to stake Stefan. "No!" Vicki screams and I vamp speed behind Logan grabbing his arm to stop the stake and I bite him draining his blood killing him before throwing him away from Stefan. Damon comes behind me at that moment. "Liv move." I move towards Stefan's head to get out of the way as Damon digs the bullet out of him. I look at it and I see that it's wood. "It's wood. They know. If anyone's gonna kill you, it's gonna be me. My ring." Damon said holding his hand out to Stefan. Stefan looks at me and Damon looks over at me. I get Damon's ring out of my pocket and I hand it to him. "I was gonna give it back to you anyways." I say and Damon puts the ring back on his finger. Stefan looks over at Logan's body and he quickly turns over. "No! No! Vicki!" Stefan yells and I look over to see Vicki drinking Logan's blood. She looks up and she's got blood all over her face. "I'm sorry." Vicki said and she runs away. "Oops." Damon said and he stands up and he walks over to beside Logan. He picks something up and puts it in his pocket before walking off. "Come on Stef we need to go. I don't know if anyone else is out here." I say

-time skip-

When Stefan and I walk up the steps of my house I see Elena sitting on the porch. She looks at us. "You're bleeding." Elena said and I go sit on the swing while they talk. "No, it's ok. It's ok. I'm ok. I couldn't stop her. I tried." Stefan said "What does that mean?" Elena asked "She fed, and then I lost her." Stefan said "Oh, my god." Elena said "I'll take care of it. I'll find her, and I will show her that she can live like I do. I will make sure that she does not hurt anybody, Elena. I promise you." Stefan said "What do I tell our brother and-- and Matt?" Elena asked "We'll come up with a story." I say "You mean we'll come up with a lie." Elena said

"I'm so sorry." Stefan said "I gave you today just like you asked. And I understand that you would never do anything to hurt me, and I promise I will keep your secret, but... I can't be with you, Stefan. I'm sorry. I- I just can't." Elena said and she walks in the house. I look at Stefan and I could tell that he was hurt. I get up and walk in front of him. "Stef." He doesn't look at me just looks at the door that Elena went in. I put my hand on his cheek and he looks at me. "She'll come around Stefan. I know she will, she's overwhelmed right now but I promise you that she will come around." He nods and I hug him before walking inside the house. Elena is on the couch crying.

She looks over at me when I walk through the door. "I know you hate me because you blame me for mom and dad but can we do like we used to and eat ice cream and talk?" Elena asked "Yeah sure." I say and I go to the freezer grabbing both mine and her favorite ice cream grabbing two spoons and walk back to the couch. "I can't believe you're actually being nice to her." Kol said and I sit down and I hand her the ice cream. "So you never told me how you met Stefan and Damon. Was it in rehab?" Elena asked "I met them after I got out of rehab. I wanted to explore another place that wasn't this one. Met them both at a grill. Kind of like Mystic Grill." I say lying about how I met Stefan so it doesn't scare her.
